We live in an old farmhouse, which is under continuing renovation, we have a small farm, with beef cows,chickens,ducks,5 dogs and 3 cats.We try to grow as many vegetables as we can,and meals are cooked from scratch wherever possible. We live 3 miles from Goleen village, and are 1 mile from the sea.(We also run a small onsite recycling business.)It is a simple life, with no TV but we do have Netflix and lots of DVD's!!We have a comfortable double bed in the spare room with dvd/vcr and we also have a caravan with a chemical toilet, heat and electricity.Someone with good English would be an advantage and an interest in animals and gardening would also be useful. We need an extra pair of hands as due to ill health things are not as up to date as they should be.Help is required with the routine daily care of the animals and birds, with feeding, collecting eggs, mucking out and general farm chores etc. So if you think you can 'muck in' with us, and help to try and get the place sorted out we w... more inside

Accomodation provided on a short-term basis in a bungalow in south Connemara on the shores of Galway Bay in exchange for housework and cooking. Also open to the idea of someone staying for a longer period of time, perhaps as part of a hybrid arrangement where you pay some rent, but at a reduced rate in exchange for help with housework.

The location is very special, on the Wild Atlantic Way in beautiful countryside near the sea and half an hour from the vibrant city of Galway. It is in the heart of a Gaeltacht or Irish-speaking area - I speak four languages, including English and Irish. Spiddal village is nearby, as is a beautiful native woodland and river, and the wild bogland. It would suit a self-contained, quiet and independent person who likes the country life.

Spiddal village has several shops and pubs, a pharmacy and other amenities. It is a lively place, especially during the summer, and there is music in the pubs several evenings a week, including traditional Irish mus... more inside

The town was built around the castle and has lots of Georgian buildings and a nice central square. I am a retired teacher and Fergus is an engineer working from home. I teach some French classes from home and spend lots of time walking in the sleeve bloom mountains which are nearby and cycling. We have three grown up children one teaching in Madrid one teaching in Dublin and one still in college. Our dog Scamp is a big part of the family a lively Jack Russell.

Hi, ++UPDATE++ we're ok for house-sitters at the moment.
Trustworthy HOUSE & ANIMAL-SITTERS often welcome!....Let me know your dates and I might even plan a trip-away around them.
We usually dont ask house-sitters to work 'hours' as well as house/animal-sit, (although any help is of course ALWAYS appreciated :) Would need you to to arrive a few days before we leave & take you food shopping before we go and also if needed, ask friends if they can offer to take you shopping once a week.

Our family live in a small, traditional Irish cottage, in a country location, with 5cats, 2dogs, a horse, and a jenet. We are located a 30 min drive to limerick city and to Ennis, and are 45 min drive from Shannon airport.

Buses and public transport are unfortunately (almost) non-existent here in East Clare but friends and neighbors are always on the move so hopefully no-one will ever feel stranded. We live two miles from nearest small village & pub.

We invite helpers to work for approx 4 h... more inside

We have a smallholding in County Kildare with an acre of completely untamed garden and several acres of peatland. So far we have done some filling and some drainage and put in a shelter belt of trees. We have a commitment to sustainable living. We are using recycled materials for wall building, paving etc and our plan is to turn the main plot into an organic garden with an adjoining area for specific acid soil plants. The remainder will be preserved as perpetual raised bogland with its natural flora. We need very able-bodied help to assist with clearing vegetation, and other general work and building.

Our Dublin site also requires help with cleaning and maintenance of buildings, grounds, vehicles and equipment, gardening, yard work, dealing with callers, housework and help with catering. We provide transport between the accommodation and the smallholding. We welcome applications from individual volunteers or two friends or brothers who wish to travel together.

An ex-registered organic market garden now run for home consumption, using a mix of agroforestry and old kitchen garden methods.

We grow organic vegetables and vegetables providing for an entirely plant based whole food diet. Bulk grains are bought in from Munster Wholefoods.

We make tempeh, soyamilk, tofu, bread. We chop wood for our fuel, are preparing beds building polytunnels, planting, weeding and harvesting etc.

The house is fueled by locally grown firewood. Coillte is the local forestry admin, and we use our own wooded areas and hedging for wood also.

We have no farm animals or their products and we do not accommodate dogs, cats or other extensions of the animal agriculture industry. We have a plant based diet for ecological and public health reasons only and we are not interested in animal welfare campaigns, new-age etc.
