Hello HelpXers
We live on a small homestay where we grow our own veg/fruit and keep chickens and dairy goats. This year will be our first at rearing pigs and lambs for the freezer. We can offer a mixture of veggie/fruit stuff - picking; planting and most importantly weeding; and animal chores: fixing fences/sheds; feeding; cleaning out. As the British weather is notoriously unpredictable if it is too wet to be outside we have building jobs and cleaning to do. The chores available are dictated by season and weather.

We are a family of 3 (youngest a toddler) living in a rural village in Norfolk. We have also have 4 dogs and 2 cats. Our village is small and has 2 pubs (both serve food); 2 shops; a butcher and a post office.

Bus routes are irregular so own transport is recommended but we are happy for Helpers to work a full day in exchange for a full day off by mutual agreement. We have bikes to lend and are happy to take Helpers out and about if their time off coincid... more inside

12 March 2012

Sadly, we are all booked up for the next several months. Thank you to all the people who wrote expressing an interest. I'll be sure to update again when I know I need more help. Thanks.

Otherwise...
we are a recently opened and still developing plant nursery in Darsham, Suffolk. We've made significant progress but we still have a long way to go.

There are two polytunnels in which I grow plants from seeds, plugs, and cuttings for sale as well as using the tunnels in summer as hothouses for fruit and vegetable production. There is also a herb and vegetable garden on site and a large area for retail sales. We grow all our fruit, herbs, and vegetables without chemicals. We also maintain a flock a free-range hens.

We are looking for helpers who enjoy plenty of hard work outdoors. The range of work is broad and it's useful to be flexible about what you'd be asked to do. Some of the tasks could include: feeding chickens and gathering eggs,
grass cutting, wate... more inside

Hello Dear Helpxers! (and kreef)

Skilled and unskilled workers equally need from the 1st of February.

We are a couple in our 60s managing a B&B / Retreat /Wedding Venue business in the country side of Wiltshire.

This house built in 1856 and was a family home originally. It is now owned by a charity

and in recent years developed as a B&B with 8 bedrooms, a conference and retreat centre and party and wedding venue. The range of events we have here is quite vast but we can tell you all about it when you arrive.

So here is the deal, regarding skilled work, if you have experience in:

- Solar paneling
- Carpentary
- Roofing
- Led windows
- Gardening

Then you are especially welcome!

But regardless of who you are, there is plenty of work to be done.
The garden is in need of work at the moment, the spring is ... more inside

Very interesting smallholding in area of AONB on sloping south facing site, ancient and new woodland with many bluebells. Recently had a grant for tree planting. Large rock formation along a ridge gives additional interest.
We require someone to help knock back bracken around our trees, clear paths of bramble, weed in paddock and garden, feed & water our poultry and clean out their shed, & have an occasional country walk with our collie. (This coveres most of the jobs throughout the year!) Cook if you like on wet days, and help with the dishes.
Only a short stroll into quaint little town of Pateley Bridge with all amenities, pubs cafes butchers bakers and grocers, and River Nidd.
Buses stop hourly at the end of our road, (literally 3 min)
It takes 50 min into beautiful Spa town of Harrogate with bus and train station to Leeds York and London. So without a car you would have a degree of independence, with possibility of local work to supplement income if available.

Anyone fancy spending the summer in Devon? Got a small victorian terrace, all major work done but needs decorating throughout. The small garden needs a big tidy up.
Can offer large bedroom, comfy bed, hot showers, broadband close to main station and walking distance of lively city centre with plenty going on.
Must like dogs and cats I have one of each.
I would consider a couple.

Thank you to the many people who responded. Family matters have arisen so i will be away for a little while and I will repost when I return. Hope you are all successful.

This is a small mixed organic farm. We run an organic box scheme and farm shop. We produce our own vegetables and fruit and have a small beef herd and laying hens.
We have been farming organically for over 15 years and also host weddings and other events doing the catering using our own fresh produce.

Fancy staying free in caravan in the beautiful Lancashire countryside and are capable of genuinely hard graft?

If you are then we really need someone as soon as possible to help us please. We are currently on a major renovation of our 20 acre small farm, which is near Garstang in Lancashire, and are working towards setting up a camping and caravan site. Do you remember the Darling Buds of May or Cold Comfort Farm from off the television? We are a mix between the two!

The farm is run by John, his son Joe, daughter Hannah, and Mick. We work out a lot, and just cant keep up with the work that needs to be done. We work in a very laid back way (most of the time), live in static caravans and have an assortment of livestock, which can be somewhat chaotic, as we dont keep regular hours.

The farm is quite remote, being down a long rough stone track, and about 1.5 miles from the nearest village, and 3 miles from Garstang. Its a very peaceful location, quiet and with no light pollutio... more inside

I'm Debbie and my house is approx 150 year old which is mostly renovated in West Norfolk, 20 miles from beaches and Royal Sandringham. Quite a rural villlage location but bus routes to town where train access to London/Cambridge is good and only couple of hours away. I live with my daughter, just back from the US studying and working and my son who is a Royal Marine. There are 2 dogs living here and have my own grooming business, so dog lovers are a must. I have a habit of not finishing jobs, not because they are hard but because I get bored and want to move to a different project

I have a large lawn for pitching tents and a gravel yard for a caravan, easy electrical access, if you choose
There are 2 single rooms available. Free WiFi. Smokers welcomed as I am a smoker myself. Initially looking for short term stays of 1-2 weeks, sometime in the summer

Evening meal/breakfast provided in return for 4 to 5 hours work daily but working hours/days can be very flexible in order f... more inside
