We are busy creating a dream out here in the west of Ireland! We have a big rambling homemade house, 3 children, mum (Emily), dad (Shivam), 3 living with us full-time helping with building. There are cats, dogs, horses, turtles, ducks, and a pig! Shivam has had many people over the years that he has taught and inspired to build.
Emily is just starting the 'alternative magazine of the West of Ireland' and would like help in the house and with cooking and looking after the children in the afternoons.

We live in the countryside in County Galway on the West Coast (Atlantic coast) of Ireland. We are approx. 30 minutes from Galway City which is always a hive of activity with Festivals, Gatherings, Music Nightly, Theatre, University etc. Ireland is a beautiful country and we would help guide you to get as much time to travel around and sightsee. I was travelling for a while and just moved into a small cottage by the sea here in the beauty of Donegal. I got a "Volkswagen campervan" which needs some work to do - so I look for somebody with experience in "renovate a van" - I have sheepwool to insulate - and I am working with timber - painting it as well.
It is a very calm - fantastic place here -

- I am happy to welcome you here -
I love art music druming, eating good food, meditation and lots of other stuff.

I have a separate room - where at the moment my "art stuff/atelier is - where you could sleep on a matress -

Our lodge is located in a valley (Vale of Avoca), in the middle of a woodland area. The site is 2 acres in total and in need of some attention: wood to gather, to cut, to tidy, weeding, planting, pruning... There are lots of ruins at the back of the house, they used to be outbuildings for the Mine Office (Gold and Copper Mines were in activity in the area until the 1960's) We arrived here 6 years ago. The major project we have undertook so far is the complete renovation of our house (2 centuries old)with original material (mostly lime) and a wooden extension . We are now tackling phase 2 of our project which is polytunnel, animals, orchard, veg, etc. We are managing the land organically, it is a mature land. We are a family of 5, the children are aged 16, 9 and 7. John (my partner) is working away most of the week and I am a part time forager for a local restaurant (picking wild food and making preserves, yum!). The rest of the time I am at home, taking care of the house, the garde... more inside

We started 7 years ago and now have a workshop building and two polytunnels. Our work is generally centered around the herbs and vegetables, which we sell at local markets. We also run a small business of making herbal products, so some of the work involves preparing herbs for making creams, oils, herb teas, etc.
An opportunity for people with a genuine interest and dedication for working with the land to learn more about growing and the benefits of herbs and vegetables.
We live in a house and have a mobile home and caravan for ideally 2 helpers at a time. We usually share a warm meal around lunchtime, our food is wholesome, organic & varied (1 vegetarian in the family).
Shops, bank, pubs etc. are within easy reach(1 mile to village, 2.5 miles to next one), by the beautiful lake "Lough Derg"
