Helpers needed for Harvesting garlic now !!!
Needed for 1 (one) week only 'til Monday 23 December

High on a hill opposite the foothills of the Great Dividing Ranges you will find our 72 acre farm with rolling hills and beautiful views, peaceful energy, a swimming pool, all of the mod conveniences, Wi Fi, LARGE digital TV, coffee machine (be your own barista) and a tipi ... not to mention the kangaroos, eagles, parrots, the odd turtle and a resident echidna. Oh and of course about 60 sheep and 3 alpacas :)

We are a small community of about 25 students studying spirituality. We are of mixed ages, backgrounds and professions.

Currently it is harvest time, so we need a lot more person power to help get the garlic out of the ground and prepare it for drying.

Harvesting involves:
- weeding by hand,
- harvesting on a tractor
- stringing the garlic up by hand into bunches
(to dry out in our large shed.)

You are welcome to come and stay, with your choice of eith... more inside

We operate a 400 cow dairy farm, and have two young children (6 and 8 years). We live in a beautiful rural area in North East Victoria, not far from the ski fields. We occasionally look for part time help to assist with getting the kids, maintaining the house (including vacuuming, washing clothes, some cooking and a bit of gardening). The dairy farm is busy and part time work is availble, including milking, calf rearing and calving and whatever else is needed. After an initial trial we would welcome a longer stay, happy to help with 2nd year visa. A drivers license and good standard of english is required.

Ours is a friendly house but the duties even though part-time are serious. The children are bright eyed and lively. For the most they are mannerly and respectful but they also have keen senses of humour. For the right person this Is a good part time job.

feel free to contact to us.

Due to illhealth I am unable to share my home at present.
I'll let you know when I am back on top!!!

I live in an old handcrafted mud-brick and rammed-earth home surrounded by State Forest and farmland, 130 kms north west of Melbourne.

There are lots of lovely birds - parrots, thrushes, galahs, wrens, tree creepers - a twitcher's paradise! as well as kangaroos, echidnas, little lizards and (probably) snakes...there are sheep, horses, alpacas and cattle in the neighbours' paddocks.

The land around here was sluiced and mined for gold in the 1850s and consequently there is very little topsoil. It is an historical area with deep mines in the bush as well as the possibility of finding gold. Lovely little historical towns around here, too.

I live 4 kms from the nearest little village and there is no light pollution - night skies are amazing! The nearest town with a train station is 20 kms away but I can collect you from there if necessary.
My sons are grown up and I now live... more inside

Opportunity for female traveller to come and stay with myself and my daughter and ride our horses during your stay. We live 5 minutes from the beach in a villa apartment. The horses are at an ajistment 15 mins away. If you dont have a car, transport may be made available if you have an international licence. We're easy going. My daughter is 12 years old. We have a mini fox terrier and a chihuahua. I'm looking for someone to help in the mornings and with school pick up, so easy tasks. My daughter is independent, so I'm not looking for a nanny. Experience with horses is desirable, but not essential. We live close to all amenities and have the benefit of access to the countryside, beach and city, so you could have a horsey/beachy/semi-rural stay with us. Please email me for further details :-) I'm happy to explore long and short stay exchanges.

Garden Larder is a little (almost organic) market garden specialising in rare and unusual fruits and vegetables and selling at local farmers markets. I am dedicated to promoting home food growing in the general community. We are situated in a small rural town in Victoria.

I am especially happy to have helpers who love getting their hands in the dirt and have a future dream of building their own plant based business or market garden or growing their own food. You must have some experience in gardening, or at least, an interest in food growing.

Work could include: Weeding, digging, helping at the markets, harvesting, seed saving, hand pollinating, planting and more. I like variety in my work and offer that to all helpers.

Small but comfortable room/hut available and meals with the family. No smokers or drinkers please. International helpers MUST have own insurance and work visa as well as being respectful and speaking English.
There is a bus service from Melbourne or Mt Gamb... more inside

Hi...new to HelpX but excited. We have 2 properties. A farm on the Mornington Peninsula where we run a local produce market every weekend from our old train. I'm Mark by the way, I could really use some help around the place getting the garden up to a standard where it can be open to the public. I have extensive vegetable gardens, natives, succulents and palms. Also resident are Rosie (our pig) and her 4 kids, our chooks and ducks and a couple of lambs due any day to keep the grass down. Most important tho is Molly my little blind dog! I am also renovating the house...so yes there is lots to do :)
My partner Chris is based down in South Gippsland at our big farm (100 acres) where we run a herd of Dexter cattle and flock of milking sheep. We are working towards being self-sufficient in food in the short term. There is always plenty to do down there, with fencing and general maintenance. We are also undertaking re-vegetation work in "wombat falls gully"
I would be very flexible as t... more inside

We are a family run multi generational farm. Currently we are reestablishing the farm as it has been leased out for a while. We follow the ideas of sustainability the best we can and are aiming to set up a farm that is mindful of the earth and environment using Joel Saliton's methods. We are in the midst of restoring a couple older farm houses on the property in hopes of opening them up as rental properties. We have just moved back to Australia after a few years in New York and are just at the beginnings of setting up a sustainable livelihood and welcome you to join us on the adventure. We need assistance in gardening, clearing up wooded land, starting a free range chicken yard, setting up a small dairy for one milking cow and building a pig pen and much more. If you are interested in joining our little community we have the ability to host you for up to 6 months. Short or long term projects are available. We have a separate room and once ready house for our helpers. Food will be pr... more inside
