I would like to offer accomodation for some help with fixing up my watersports centre and house adjoining it for the coming season. There's a Wide variety of jobs which you could help me with from; painting, sanding, repairs to wet-suits, gardening, Boat repairs, maintenance work, office work, advertising, helping with setting up sports activities/groups and much more. Hopefully you would get out to try some sailing, kayaking, surfing, windsurfing, rock climbing yourself if you wished to do so. (average working time per day: 6 hours).

The house is on the beach front or Stand Line in Kilkee, Co.Clare, Ireland. I have a spare double room and a single room available (so can sleep up to 3 people). There is an electric shower, toilet and kitchen with all necessary facilities available. Heating, washing machine also. You can cook in our kitchen which has all the amenities available for you.

Please let me know if this would suit you?

I look forward in hearing back from you.

Hi, I am looking for one or two people, preferably a couple, to stay in my house in the centre of Drogheda (situated 40mins from dublin) for one or two weeks and help with setting up a vegetable garden (some experience would be great, especially with repairing a small stone wall) and also some painting, sanding etc. indoors. In exchange I can offer accommodation (one comfortable double bedroom available for helpers so suitable for single person or preferably a couple), home cooked meals (vegetarian or vegan welcome also), and I am happy to help you see all the sights the Boyne Valley has to offer during your stay. I would hope for about 15-20 hours work a week.

Thanks,

Roisin

***This position is now closed. Many thanks to our many helpers who made such a difference to life on the farm over the years!***

This is an old fashioned cattle farm (21 at the moment), 16 hectares of fields with no machinery, 4 chickens and a vegetable garden. The farmer, Tom, is 79 years old, has a bad leg and needs assistance to run the farm. I'm the other permanent resident and I take care of his personal needs and of the housework.

Duties are primarily farm work, so we need a generous soul willing to do the work an old man or a woman find more difficult. Somebody who is strong enough to do everything by hand, self-motivated and able to work independently.

Dealing with the cattle is the first responsability. General maintenance to be done like cutting briars and gorse, gathering and cutting firewood, fixing dry walls, gardening, drainage, repairing tools etc... Basically keeping the place tidy and running smoothly. Experience with cattle prefered. I can show you every... more inside

I have horses, dogs and birds. I have an arena and quiet lanes for riding. I have a horse for driving as well as riding horses. I have a few vegetables growing and plan on growing more and planting trees. I am an artist. My place has lots of projects going on to make it better for people coming to stay. Any guest must like animals. I am flexible as to arrangements for guests. There are a lot of different things that need doing here, different skills are good for different projects and I can also offer English language lessons, horse riding/driving or facilities for art. I live near a beautiful village, the sea and mountains. It is very quiet here.

I live in Cahersiveen in Co Kerry. A very picturesque area of South West Ireland bordering the Atlantic Ocean. Cahersiveen is a small town well served by shops restaurants bars and all other essential amenities. It is approximately a one hour bus ride from the nearest railway station and airport and is situated on the world famous Ring Of Kerry tourist route
The house is a three bedroom modern built semi detached residence in the center of town, all bedrooms are ensuite with shower, toilet and wash basin with a shared open plan living and kitchen area on the ground floor
At present the house is in need of a little bit of TLC with regards to tiling work in the bathrooms, interior painting throughout and exterior decoration.
Working hours would be flexible arranged at the beginning of your stay to mutually suit.

I am an old man of 75 years old. I live alone here in a beautiful area of West Cork for 40 years. That time has been shared between here and California. I know many people in this area. It's a really quiet place to be. It's easy to walk around and has a beautiful landscape. Durrus is a small village with a grocery, a few nice restaurants and pubs. I enjoy the socializing in the pubs sometimes.

A young Belgium traveller I met has stayed a few nights with HelpX people around the area and really enjoyed it.

With my age, it's difficult to keep everything done around the house. I try my best to keep this place nice, but there is so much to do! There are many things I can't do anymore. There is some work to do around the house such as housekeeping, cooking, painting, carpentry, gardening, plumbing, etc.. I don't ask for too much of your time working and you are free to think about what you'd like to do. I will make a list with prior things to do, depending on your abilities or inte... more inside

My cottage is situated in quite a rural setting in Connemara. There is just 2 other homes in this Valley. I am surrounded by blacket bog close to the 12 Bens, the Owenglen river flows just below the property. I am about 3kms from Clifden, part of this road is very rough.
I recently got a back injury and I would like to get help preparing my small garden for next year and stacking firewood, nothing very heavy but I am unable to this type of work for a while.
I am also a couch-surfing host, you can view my profile and references if you go in to the couch-surfing network and search hosts near Clifden,Co Galway. Help exchange is more specific to my situation at the moment.

Come and spend 2-4 weeks at our farm in beautiful surroundings of hills not far from the coast. We have had several happy helpers in the past and are looking for two strong men to help put up a greenhouse and generally help around the farm, painting and building experience could be a help. We are also restoring a 1946 sailing boat. We speak a bit of French and German if needed. We have Cattle, sheep, horses and polytunnel for vegetables. We also have an art studio and run the local farmers market in Sligo town. We are very sociable, will feed you well and can accomodate two people comfortably in the family house.

Small friendly family looking for au pair/childminder for roughly 16 hours childminding a week. We're keen couchsurfers and have hosted people from all over the world - hence finding out about helpx. Would need to skype first and if you have childcare experience that would be great! We live 20 minutes walk from Dublin city centre in a small house with a big garden, if you're a student or want to learn English, this could be the perfect place for you!

**Update!! Apologies if I haven't got back to you, I've been inundated with replies! At the moment I am busy looking for a bigger house, as currently the space I have available to stay in is a small converted attic, perfect for a couple of nights, but perhaps not for longer term. Anyhow I will put up a photo of the room and see if anyone's still interested!
Thanks, Zoe
