We are a family with 4 children, aged 16 - 5. We are not looking for any childcare, however we always love having people to stay with us and getting to know others. Right now we are doing a lot of work on our house and garden, both of which are in need of a lot of TLC. I have a book of projects which I would love to work through. We would be very grateful for any help that comes our way. This could be any number of things, maybe you are brilliant at garden makeovers, perhaps you like to build a BBQ, maybe you skills lie in interior decorating, some may like to offer assistance in everyday household chores. Whatever it is we would love to hear from you. In return we are offering food and accomodation in the form of 2 futons sharing a room.

I am a single mother with a daughter (15) and 2 dogs, so it is essential you are animal friendly :) We have on offer basic accommodation - use of one of our three spare rooms for a lone visitor, or more than one for a group or couple. Our house is near to a railway station with good access to London (around 40 minutes by train) and also Oxford is about 1 hour away by bus.

In return for the accommodation, we ask for help in renovating the house and gardens.

Plumbers, tilers and handymen are especially welcome :-) We also need our kitchen refitted, so if this is your speciality we are waiting :-)

Gardeners are also welcome - we have a medium sized garden which needs attending e.g. trees trimming and lawn mown.

In return for 3 days working 6 hours per day, we will offer accommodation for a further 4 days, so a week in total. Negotiation is possible as it is essential that you stay until the job is done.

Strictly no smoking or using illegal substances.

We have a small B&B in North Devon. Please look at the web site for details. The lee bay website will give you a guide to this beautiful corner of Devon.
The holiday season is fast arriving and we still have too many winter projects to get through! We are looking for helpers with decorating and gardening skills. We need to freshen up 3 ensuite bathrooms and the kitchen and a small amount of outside painting as the weather permits. In the garden there are hedge cutting and strimming tasks and general work on the vegge patch and polytunnel. Peter and I will work along side you as much as possible but there are days when I am working away from home so a degree of self sufficency is required, (and occasional cat and chicken babysitting)
We would like you to work approx. 25 hours per week and are happy for you to do that over three or four days so you can get plenty of time off to get out in the area.

We would be very happy for the right person/couple to start anytime soon, for in... more inside

I have a small plant and tree nursery set in very rural area between London and Cambridge.
We also grow fruit and vegetables
My home is just 3 miles away in a tiny tranquil hamlet.
You would stay in a purpose built chalet in the garden or in my home dependent upon weather conditions.
Meals are provided. I am not vegetarian and vegetarians generally cook their own meals with me providing the food.
You would work 5 hours per day for 5 days per week or 25 hours spread over 3 days.
I receive guests from all over the world who are registered with the Worldwide opportunities in organic farming.
Helpers may work at my home, my garden, or my nursery.
In addition, volunteers may participate in schemes outside of the above. For instance, we may do garden or grounds maintenance at homes or organisations.
I have volunteers from a very wide spectrum of society from persons resident in hostel for the homeless to serving police officers and a research scientist. Age ranges from te... more inside

We have been fully organic since 1988, running a mixed organic farm on 104 acres. For the last 20 years we have been operating an organic fruit and vegetable box scheme - currently delivering around 150 boxes every week to families in the Truro/Falmouth area. We produce high quality organic produce (for which we have won awards) to sell locally at affordable prices, and also supply local hotels and restaurants. There is a farm shop on site and we are currently developing the range of products we offer.

We grow over 60 varieties of vegetables on 30 acres of cultivated land and have 9 Polytunnels to extend our range and growing season. We keep a herd of 30 Aberdeen Angus Cattle who graze on 50 acres of grass and forage. There are also 5 flocks of laying chickens on site for our organic eggs (300 free-range hens). We raise our own hens and meat birds. There are also bees on the farm. We are currently setting up our own hives and learning how to care for them.

As well as the veget... more inside

We live in an English country house in an area of outstanding natural beauty, within easy reach of the Ashdown Forest, which is a vast heathland and nature reserve, a nature lover's paradise.
The property is surrounded by various organically maintained gardens. Recently I have embarked on developing a honeybee sanctuary, an on-going project, input from others very welcome! There is also a small flock of much-loved and very handsome Jacob sheep and a horse who lives nearby and may be taken out in beautiful riding country by experienced riders.
We enjoy sharing our beautiful home (and the work entailed!) with others and welcome anyone who is willing to put in 24 hours of help in return for board and lodging.
There is always work in the garden, such as planting, pruning, mowing and weeding. People with garden design experience or interest very welcome. Right now (winter) I would be particularly interested in someone who could help keep house and cook.
In spring and early summer ... more inside
