We have been fully organic since 1988, running a mixed organic farm on 104 acres. For the last 20 years we have been operating an organic fruit and vegetable box scheme - currently delivering around 150 boxes every week to families in the Truro/Falmouth area. We produce high quality organic produce (for which we have won awards) to sell locally at affordable prices, and also supply local hotels and restaurants. There is a farm shop on site and we are currently developing the range of products we offer.

We grow over 60 varieties of vegetables on 30 acres of cultivated land and have 9 Polytunnels to extend our range and growing season. We keep a herd of 30 Aberdeen Angus Cattle who graze on 50 acres of grass and forage. There are also 5 flocks of laying chickens on site for our organic eggs (300 free-range hens). We raise our own hens and meat birds. There are also bees on the farm. We are currently setting up our own hives and learning how to care for them.

We live in an English country house in an area of outstanding natural beauty, within easy reach of the Ashdown Forest, which is a vast heathland and nature reserve, a nature lover's paradise.
The property is surrounded by various organically maintained gardens. Recently I have embarked on developing a honeybee sanctuary, an on-going project, input from others very welcome! There is also a small flock of much-loved and very handsome Jacob sheep and a horse who lives nearby and may be taken out in beautiful riding country by experienced riders.
We enjoy sharing our beautiful home (and the work entailed!) with others and welcome anyone who is willing to put in 24 hours of help in return for board and lodging.
There is always work in the garden, such as planting, pruning, mowing and weeding. People with garden design experience or interest very welcome. Right now (winter) I would be particularly interested in someone who could help keep house and cook.
In spring and early summer ... more inside

We are looking for general labouring work for our property that we are currently re-developing. We are happy to offer full board with all meals thrown in. The property you would be staying in is the house we are doing up. The rooms would be clean and all linen would be provided. The bathrooms/kitchen are not much to look at but they will be replaced as soon as we get the go ahead for our planning persmission. This type of work would be better suited to men/boys as it is manual labour with some lifting now and again. We are a very happy household that consists of myself, my partner Jamie and our three year old son. We have a dog called Molly but she would not be staying in the house with you. We are open to days worked/time you would like off.We would love to hear from you.

Quirky, cool and busy veggie BnB, 15 minutes drive from Bristol city centre, frequent buses in to town and good links to the surrounding region, eg Bath, Wales, Somerset, Gloucestershire etc. See website for details of the business. We have 2 part time staff.

We are looking for one helper to start early October 2010 into the new year. Possibly longer if it works out. (You have to be available over xmas period).

Generally 5 days' work a week, 2 days off. The working days could be weekdays or weekends, generally early start but varying shifts.

Outside of that, understand that as we are self employed we could be, and generally are, working any time of the day or evening, with short and frequent breaks of leisure time in between.

However, we are making progress towards containing the working hours to something more normal.

We're willing to give the right person their own bedroom and in our 4 bedroom house. (The business is on a separate site).

Help wanted for the garden in Spring/Summer 2011. Not the largest property but mobility difficulties mean that my husband can no longer help with the vegetable plots,(He has M.E.)and the garden has got into a bit of a state.

We are a non-smoking home educating family with 4 children, Eldest of whom is at secondary school. No child care duties.
We also keep chickens, some DiY skills would be useful.
Expected help about 4 hrs a day, depending on weather.
We can provide a comfortable downstairs room, which will be redecorated over the winter, with a piano, and TV/Dvd player or we have space for a tent if preferred (though do remember British weather) We will also provide cooked meals and English lesson help if required.
We are in a very rural area.

Would prefer non smokers, and we cannot accommodate special dietry requirements also we are not a vegetarian household.

We are 12 miles away from the surfing beach at Bude, though public transport is limited we can provide a... more inside

i live in London and work as a media freelance. i am attempting to do really exciting and dynamic things with the inside and outside of my house. i want to build a outsider style art green house in my back yard an original dinner table that rides up and down on chains. and various other novel interior and exterior adaptions. there are also vacancies in helping me with the running of my media production company that runs very much as as coop.
if you fancy the idea of being a producers assistant then contact me.
there is lots of fun to be had, lots of practical stuff. I'm a really good cook, mainly vege and fish, there are lots of attractions in London, i can show you the one insider's take on London and generally build a great sense of community and spirit in my open house , hey we may even become friends!you can choose which of the many projects you would like to work on. although there are some boring bits of it that have to get done as well so if you don't mind that great.

We may need help in September with general building work and gardening. Couples or two girls traveling together only considered.

We live in the beautiful Wye valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are in a great location for country/wildlife lovers. At home we have 2 cats, a border collie dog (who loves football all day), chickens and lots of little animals like gerbils, guinea pigs, frogs and newts in the pond etc. We are planting up the veg patch this time of year, and I also want to develop further a wild flower corner of the garden. There are many beautiful bike rides and walks all around, but public transport is a little limited. We have free use of Internet, and bikes. Sleeping room is mattresses on the floor in own room.

We live in a very rural part of England - the Pewsey Vale is dotted with small villages with the Kennet and Avon canal running through it - alongside the railway to the West Country. Our village is small with two working farms one of them growing thatching straw - there is an excellent pub/restaurant.
We live in Marden Manor a fairly large house surrounded by open parkland and with lawns and flower beds - there is a grass tennis court. we have a kitchen garden and grow all ourown vegetables and some fruit. There are two greenhouses and 3 herbacious borders. June is a busy time when the fruit needs picking and freezing. we do have help in the garden but we could do with more. there is always something to do whether it is painting or gardening or tidying something up. We are mow coming to the busy time in the kitchen garden as the fruit ripens and needs picking and freezing - about a week from now.
there are sheep in our orchard and we keep hens - we also have two dogs.
