This is a working farm, where we use as little chemicasl as possible. There are goats for the blackberries, cows and sheep. The farm is in a lovely little valley which can be quite cold in winter, although there are two warm fire burning 24hrs a day to keep us warm. I would like help with the vegetable and outside gardens, some stock work and fencing. Also if you are skilled in DIY that would be handy as I am renovating the house. Don't worry if you don't have any skills in this area you soon will before you leave here. At the moment I have accommodation for a single person or a couple. My son lives at home with me and he is a special person with special needs. If you would like to come and stay a while it is better if you phone first. I can pick you up that is no problem. You can have the use of the internet, that is if we have enough power. The house hold is run on solar power and at the moment we are coping with the sun power only, a back up generator is in the pipelines. W... more inside

Hi travelers.

We are a happily married & open minded couple who have explored the world and are now living our dream.... living & working in Asia - Bali!!! We have three amazing children, Taj 5, Lucia 3 & Nirvana our 4month old baby.

Sal is a teacher & was fortunate enough to get a fantastic new job at the incredible Green School, Bali! We move to this exciting new life on July 16th 2013 & our first priority is to find a home local to the Ubud area.

Both Taj & Lucia will go to school here, Lucia only part time. Both kids are active, fun, loving & creative.

We'll be searching for a 4 bedroom house & we'd like our Helpers have their own comfortable room. We like our helpers to be fun, energetic & positive - like our family.

We are a peaceful, respectful & busy family & we welcome any inquires although please understand this is an extremely busy time for us & we may need a few weeks/month to get settled in our new surroundings.

We look forward to hearing from you.... more inside

I live on 20 hectares of mostly native bush. There is lots of gardens around my home. It's about 10 kms to the nearest shop and 20 kms to nearest town. There are lots of birds and native animals to be seen
The work would include gardening, mowing, getting fire wood and some home maintenance.
Accommodation is in separate cabin that sleep 2.

Hi, I'm an architect builder, currently working on my own place on a beautiful property directly adjacent to the Grampians National Park.
This is no regular build, but anyone who would like to stay and help where they can is most welcome. The building is all from recycled materials and the primary objective is to have fun while it goes up.
The Helpers have their own caravan to stay in and would have to put up with me raving on about environmental design, but a unique experience is guaranteed.
Sometimes I have to be in Melbourne to work, so unfortunately can't fit in with all Helpers, but travel there often so even if you are based in Melbourne, concider coming up for a long weekend. It really is a beautiful patr of the world. You'd be mad to miss it.

This farm is our opportunity to feed our large family as sustainably as possible. On our two properties we grow organic veggies, fruit, meat and eggs. In Bendoc we farm friendly Wiltshire Horn sheep, fatten piglets, milk goats and, when grown up, a Jersey cow. Surrounded by mountain forests, our second home at Goongerah has orchards, veggie garden and abundant native plants and animals. We are establishing a farm-stay business, teaching personal development using 'real' tasks including back-to-basics food production and processing, particularly aimed at special needs children. Helpers visiting us would be housed in our newly renovated 1940s caravan.

We are located in the outskirts of the South West Victorian town of Portland.

Portland is located on the far south-west coast of Victoria, mid-way between Port Fairy and the small town of Nelson which is adjacent to the state border with South Australia.

We grow various fruit and vegetable and maintain a small flock of sheep, keep chickens, a pig and a horse.

We have plenty of odd jobs to be carried out on a daily basis from grounds maintenance through to animal husbandry.

I'm preparing to restore an original miner's cottage on a quarter acre block in a tiny little town in the Central Highlands near Daylesford.

Assistance is required to empty an old cottage filled with interesting stuff & sort it out into a couple of old sheds and photograph stuff that could be put on ebay.

Help build another shed on existing footings, tweak the garden a bit and prep cottage for renovation project.
I have most of the bits required to set up an aquaponics garden, so if you are into experimenting and having some fun with that you're welcome.
I could do with an electrician and anyone handy with some carpentry skills.
I have some basic editing and website stuff that could do with someone more adept than I trying to do it. I need to edit together some clips of existing footage to upload to various sites.
It's not the most glamorous work, it's stuff I can't do alone, hence my appeal for help.
I'm a decent cook, I'm not going to slave drive you, I have some ... more inside

This old vineyard now offers home to Jem & Outi, their 3 dogs and 3 horses. The house is huge with so called dual living zones: this means that one end of the house is wasted as no-one is using it. We have 2 double bedrooms available with shower + toilet pretty much for your use only. Outside we have a swimming pool, tennis court (you'd have to provide your own rackets & tennis partner!), riding arena, a garden that is too big, horse paddocks and native bush.
We would like Helpers who are comfortable with basic farm/house maintenance, fencing/old shed repairs, gardening etc i.e. basic DIY knowledge would be great. Anyone with engine/mechanical skills or shed building/repair skills would get priority.
We exist on tank water so short showers are a must; we also use a wood burning heater to keep the house warm and this needs a regular feed of logs to keep the house comfy (everyone should participate in this as well as chopping firewood if needed).
We are based approx. 5km outside B... more inside
