Hi,
I'm looking for people to do some gardening or light house work for me in exchange for full board. The gardening duties are reasonably light: digging, weeding etc for 4 hours a day. I live about 20 mins from centre of Wellington. I am also 10 mins from the sea. I am a single mother of two girls and run my own business. So abit of help every now and then would be great!

Our home is a residential property situated on a hill in a beautiful bush covered valley that looks down the Ngaio Gorge, out to Wellington harbour and across to the Taurua ranges.

The house has the feel of a 'tree house' sitting atop beautiful native bush that attracts many native birds, yet it is only 6 minutes drive, down the original single track road out of Wellington, and right into the centre of Wellington.

There are lots of good bush walks nearby, with one that leads up through native bush to one of Wellingtons most beautiful vistas, offering 360 degree views of the Wellington region.

We are in close proximity to bus services and within walking distance of a railway station and supermarket.

The house is a large weather board house with plenty of room for guests. You would have your own separate living area including double bedroom, ensuite and lounge with own tv and hi-fi. There is access to your own outdoor deck, with use of shared kitchen upstairs. The house... more inside

Hi, our names are Greg and Leah. We live on a lifestyle property 30 mins drive from Wellington city. The property is close to train stations and walking distance from the town of Plimmerton. We are a couple with grown up kids (one who lives on the property, and one who stays often). We have 4 horses, a small flock of sheep, a couple of chickens and 3 dogs (one puppy, a friendly lab and one wary tiny dog)

In exchange for a room and meals, we are looking for short term helpers for jobs around the farm, e.g. post and rail fencing. We also would like help with firewood stacking, weeding etc. When you are done for the day there are some nice walking tracks around, or borrow a bike to ride over to plimmerton to check out the town/seaside, or journey into the city and enjoy some time in Wellington.

We are a family of 4, mum and 3 kids (ages 7, 4.5 and 1) living on a suburban property in Raumati South, about a 20 minute walk from the beach, where we are trying to create an organic oasis of fruit trees and edible plants. we love preparing, eating and thinking about food!

I am currently looking for a person or a couple to help me out for a week or so, with some painting and house renovations.
In return for 4 hours work a day you'll have a comfy bed and I'll provide food for you to self cater breakfast and lunch and you can join our family for a cooked dinner. I am happy to cater for different dietary requirements.

Raumati South where we live is about a 50 minute drive or train ride from wellington city.

We have many animals and live as closely as possible to organic - all our animals free range. We milk goats, and eat our own protein. We need help! A couple would be good. Carpentry experience would be useful. We live in abundance and my partner is an amazing cook! Did I mention the 360 degree views?! We are a mere 25 mins from Wellington CBD and 10 mins from Johnsonville, which provides all amenities.

We are completely off the grid solar and live on tank water. We do have mobile telephone range (027 prefix) but we don't have wifi as we don't have a land line.

We have a studio space / separate bedroom in our shed which we can offer for a couple or a single.

We breed pigs free range and have many other critters too. Help with the daily tasks associated is needed. Animal husbandry skills a bonus.

Looking forward:)

We are a large inner city home shared by 11 friends, 2 min from the botanic gardens and 5 min from Lambton Quay.

We are working on making our land more productive. So far we have bees, a chicken coop, and a small orchard. We have plans to further terrace our backyard, build a glass house and plant bee-friendly plants for this coming spring/summer.

We also have other projects going on that might need a hand here or there including a boat build and exterior house maintenance.

We expect our volunteers to be one of the household, which means picking up a cleaning job and cooking night on our rosters.

We offer our volunteers food and accomodation for 4 hours of work per day for 5 days a week, not including the cooking/cleaning above which is shared equally amongst all living here and is over and above.

We'd like to hear from volunteers with some experience and who are happy to get on with it without needing close supervision/direction.

We have vacancy from from ear... more inside

We want to improve our Spanish, the children are Chiwis (Half Kiwi / Half Chilean). In return we offer free food and accommodation (private room), free internet wifi etc.

We live within walking distance to of all the attractions Wellington city has to offer.

I've recently returned to New Zealand after being away for 10 years in Europe (UK, Spain, and Switzerland). I've now got my own slice of paradise out in the country, a lifestyle block a couple of kms from the small town of Otaki.

My long term vision is to plant a forest garden with permaculture principles in one of the paddocks, with every fruit, nut, and berry tree that I can get my hands on. I've started with a variety of heritage apples, plums, and figs, plus the obligatory citrus - lemons, limes, and kaffir lime (for Thai cooking). Once I get the fencing into shape, I'll look at having a handful of sheep and goats. In the meantime, I have a neighbour's cattle helping to keep the grass down.

The house is perched on a hill with wonderful views out to the coast. I live here on my own and work full-time in Wellington during the week.

At the moment, because I'm working in Wellington during the week, I'm really only looking for help on weekends - from Friday evenings throug... more inside

The helper I had lined up for November hasn't made it to NZ yet so I will most likely be looking for someone from around 5th November. George the puppy is now 6 months old, still growing fast, and has reached the bouncy stage. He now doesn't need the constant vigilance for toilet/house training that he did when he was little and can be left for periods of time every day. On that basis I am also asking the helper to cook a couple of nights a week, and to work on a small outside project while you are here.

There will be plenty of time to hang outside in my garden, go for your own walks, watch Netflix, or work on your own projects!

I live in lovely Wellington city in the sunny (and quirky) suburb of Newtown / Berhampore in a pretty double-bay wooden villa. I am a single (very social) woman who runs a successful design and technology company. I enjoy having guests and the opportunity to share my knowledge about this lovely city.

We are a family of four (children aged 6 and 8 years), living in a four bedroom home with a big garden, chickens, a puppy and two cats. Our children are home-schooled.

At the moment we are looking for help with gardening and basic building work. We are also looking for help running the household. This involves cleaning, cooking and spending time with the children.

We ask for four hours work per day in exchange for a place to sleep (in your own room) and yummy, fresh, home-cooked meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner, aswell as morning tea. We look after you well, but expect good work in return. No smokers please

We are an adventurous family and love having fun in the outdoors- kayaking, bush walking, biking and rock-climbing.

We live in a lovely little, friendly village that is a short 40-50 minute drive or train ride from Wellington city. We live close to beautiful beaches and a fantastic National Park. Paraparaumu township (where there are many shops and cafes... more inside
