My property is 17 acres adjoining the Yarra Ranges National Park and the O’Shannassy Aqueduct walking / cycling trail, with direct access from the rear of the property.

There are three beautifully designed mud brick cottages co-located on the property. One cottage is used as a holiday rental - another is used as a meditation studio - and the other is the hosts house.

Helper accommodation is in the hosts house. The room has two single beds, which can be arranged as a king size bed, and has separate external access. Lounge, dining, cooking and bathroom facilities are shared with the host.

The property is a 10 minute drive to Warburton, with its many delightful cafes and restaurants. It is also an easy drive to the wonderful wineries / restaurants / galleries that can be found in the Yarra Valley.

The house is set in a lovely and peaceful garden, with abundant birdlife and spectacular views of the mountain. The space is very conducive to meditation, yoga, the creative arts ... more inside

Do you want to visit Wilson's Promontory National Park? - this farm is perfect place to stay! We need someone fit, strong and not afraid to work hard with us on our olive farm in South Gippsland to help harvest our olives and turn them into extra virgin olive oil in our oil making mill. We need someone for a minimum of three weeks starting the beginning of June. There may also be bottling the oil, wood cutting, gardening and other farm jobs. We serve you lunch and dinner with us (we also provide food for breakfast and snacks) and there is very nice accommodation in our farm house. There is a small cash reward for good work. We are not far from the Waratah Bay beach (although it is a bit too cold to swim in June) and Wilson's Promontory National Park. We are 2.5 hours on bus from Melbourne. We welcome visitors from anywhere and are always happy to help you to practice English if necessary!

We are Russell and Yvonne. We both work full time in our own businesses, Russell owns a bike shop and runs mountain bike tours, I am a painter and gardener/landscaper.

We own a little perma-culture based farm on which we try to be as self-sufficient as possible.

To stay at our farm you need a car as there is no public transport.
We are currently looking for help to finish paint the house and shed on the outside, build garden beds, plant trees and shrubs, help with the cooking and household chows.
Further projects: a house extension, building pergolas, wicking garden-beds, paving,...

This is a permaculture small farm on the edge of Violet Town, just 800m from the train station. The farm is well established, as most tree planting was done between 1996 and 2000.

We have a large established fruit and nut orchard, an olive grove, vegetable gardens, chickens, milking goats, bees, forestry for shelter and timber, and large dam for irrigation and swimming. Our house is made of timber and mudbrick, and we catch our own water. Most of our food comes from the house garden and farm, including a huge range of fresh fruit all year round, a range of vegetables for each season, honey, cheese, olive oil, table olives, and home killed or hunted meat. We eat shared meals, most meals are vegetarian.

Type of jobs: farm and garden work, combined with learning, and share of household tasks, including food preparation from farm ingredients. Depending on your skills and interests and our needs, tasks can include caring for our vegetable gardens, orchard, goats and chickens, chee... more inside
