I live in south Birmingham and I would like some assistance with graphics, video , developing my photography skills, website design and social media in order to get my business up and running here.
I have an allotment which needs digging over before the winter too. It is in a beautiful spot 5 mins walk from the house and could use some help there too
This area is beautiful and green although we are located in a major city. Bus route just outside the door to central Birmingham, Stratford is 15 miles away. Lots to see and do here, Birmingham is an exciting, vibrant and friendly city.

Space available for October.
Hi, we are John and Stephanie, semi-retired active hosts interested in history, art, poetry and folk music as well as farming. We are really interested in hosting friendly sociable volunteers so we can also learn about your life and culture.
Are you available to help us for a few weeks and learn more about our low-tech way of life?
Do you like horses and other animals? We need help with stable duties, field work, gardening and some housework. You will live in our home as part of the family which sometimes includes our elderly mother and our student son. In exchange for around 5 hours work per day (flexible) we offer full board and all meals are included. We home cook good quality meals from basic ingredients and buy locally sourced produce and are happy to cater for vegetarians as most of our meals are vegetarian . Please note we only accept non smokers. Our home is a very old-fashioned unmodernised Victorian farmhouse situated on the edge of a ... more inside

We are 3 sisters looking for help with our sweet-tempered 101 year old mum, who was a sheep farmer & has always expressed a wish to die in her own home. We have a lovely nurse who comes in a lot but still need some help with nights & light daytime duties. The house, which is probably at latest eighteenth century & Cotswold stone, was renovated in 1967 & since then only running repairs, so it's like living in a time warp but there is an Aga cooker, A gardener deals with mowing & flower beds, but there is scope for Helpx to do some gardening too. We are in the very heart of the Cotswolds in a vibrant village & within bicycling reach of sports facilties.

Hi Everyone,

Having spent time volunteering and working in Europe over the past few years, I set up a small language academy in Leeds for adults who are studying English.

We're looking for volunteers in July and August 2018.

We have two positions available (or a mixture of both), in return we can offer free accommodation in Leeds (quite close to the city centre), free wifi and free meals during the week - we cook as a group:

1) We're looking for volunteers who are native English speakers, and who would be interested in staying in our house with the students - speaking English with them socially and at meal times, assisting them in their volunteer work, and taking them out on trips to nearby places of interest. If you're interested in seeing the area, it's a great way to do it.

You won't be expected to teach any English lessons, however if you are TEFL qualified there might be some paid work available.

2) We are looking for a cook for the school - cooking for up to... more inside

BOOKING ONE-WEEK SLOTS FROM 21 OCTOBER

We need willing Helpxers with strong arms to finish putting the garden to bed this year. Sweeping leaves, splitting logs, tidying flowerbeds, sharpening tools, cleaning the greenhouse.

We live in a 300-year old cottage on a Cotswold farm in an isolated spot in the middle of the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside.

There is a very large garden that has an organic vegetable patch with raised beds; an orchard of apples, pears, cherries and plums; a woodland garden, a flower garden, a pond and a wildflower corner. You can see them in the photos.

We recently acquired four chickens, traditional breeds from the Cotswolds. They have just started laying eggs and are absolutely delightful.

I split my time between running a business from home and trying to keep up with the demands of the garden. So help is always welcome.

I can offer helpers accommodation and wonderful fresh home-grown food in exchange for six hours’ work Monday t... more inside

Hi I'm running a unique and beautiful Bed & Breakfast with 3 luxury ensuite double rooms and a Shepherd's Hut, on the edge of Dartmoor and about 1 Km from the delightful village of South Brent, with shops and pubs. Garfield is a big quirky old house with beautiful views and a large garden.

As well as the B&B business, I play semi-professional jazz and rock around the area. It's getting a bit too much to handle!

I would love some help with preparing breakfasts, clearing and washing up, changing rooms over, cleaning and laundry. Would expect 4 hours help each day with 2 days off per week, in exchange for full lodging (i.e. food and accommodation). There are not guests every day. On days when there is no-one staying, the work would be various household tasks, including cleaning, tidying, laundry, ironing, gardening and possibly building renovation, keeping the place beautiful. I wouldn't expect you to carry out all the work for the B&B as I do much myself and also already have so... more inside

**We have space between 1st to 15th October for helpers who want to stay one or two weeks. This will be our last helper opportunities this season.**

We keep poultry and rabbits and have a vegetable garden at our house in a small village on the Quantock Hills. We are also involved with our family horticultural nursery and smallholding two miles away, where our family also has beehives. We sell eggs and breed and sell ducks, hens and rabbits. We run courses in poultry-keeping from beginners to advanced levels (that helpers are welcome to participate in). We have an interest in sustainable/local food production and are starting to experiment with perennial vegetables and how chickens and ducks can be integrated in to a system. We kill and prepare our own chicken for the table.

We are looking for help for about 28 hours a week, spread to be mutually convenient.

After being shown how and becoming confident we like helpers to take responsibility for feeding and watering the rabbi... more inside

Sorry currently not hosting :)

I am an active Italian woman who lives in South London in a nice three bedroom flat with a small garden in a residentail area 5 minutes walk from the station (14 minutes from London Bridge).

I offer free accommodation and evening meals to 1 person to help me with daily cleaning, occasional pet sitting and dog walking, online marketing, happy to practice daily yoga with me ( as I need teaching experience), plus various little errands as needed.

If you are/speak Spanish, that is an extra bonus.

I may also ask you to accompany me travelling in Europe occasionally on a low budget (couch-surfing and will pay for flight and some entertainment). Consequently, we really need to get on and like each other...

You need to help me for about 3 hours a day during the week and one hour over the weekend. You will have time for studying and have a part-time job, if you so wish.

I welcome friendly, relaxed and easy going people with a positive attit... more inside

We have loads of projects on the go at the moment from putting up polytunnels, barns and building veg beds to planting trees and veg and mulching what we have already got growing. Organic and bibodynamic ethos.

We would like our helpers to work 5/6 hours a day in return for accommodation and food. Not wotkind sundays though. Accommodation is a large caravan with electricity no wifi phone signal is ok depending which netwrk you are with. Use of internet in our home if needed. Use of a small bathroom in our home, you have your own compost loo though.

We are fish eating veggies and would be happy to cater for vegans.

pets can be discussed as we have two cats and hens.

Having your own car would be an advantage but not essential
