We farm in the box iron bark region of Victoria. The farm is hilly and large and is a sheep grazing property. The farm has many trees and we have planted many more. We are interested in soil conservation and repair of soil erosion.

The farm has cottage accommodation and the farm house. We are about an hour drive from the Grampians and the rock climbing area of Mt Arapiles.

Tasks are many and varied and depend on the skills of the helper and the time of the year.

We value the exchange of ideas and experiences.

SORRY! WE'RE FULL> thank you so much for your interest but we are full up at the moment. We hope to be able to take on more wonderful helpers soon.

Just an hours drive from Melbourne our farm is an open, warm and welcoming home to all creatures.

While we take things as they come, many hands make light work. If you are interested in donating your time we would love to have you! Being a farm there is always plenty to do. From weeding and mowing, to planting and harvesting, building, to cooking and house work, if you would like to help us we would love to hear from you!

At the moment accommodation is in tents. They're pretty comfy with lots of blankets, a floor rug, small table, lantern light and a hot water bottle at night :) For the most part we tend to hang out at the cottage for meals, wifi ect.

At present we have 3 helpers from Germany, Holland and here in Australia.

We ask a few hours of work per day and the rest of the time is yours to explore the farm.... more inside

***Creative gardener needed***
I live 6km from the centre of the Melbourne in Prahran. It is a 13 min drive and a direct tram or train into the city. We are about 5-10 minutes walk from the famous Chapel St and Prahran Markets.
Our house is very humble and warm. You would be sleeping on a double mattress in the common room (its actually super cosy). You will be needed to work in the garden creating a organic veggie patch and planting flowers/bushes/whatever you see fit.. all the fun stuff :)
As you can see from the photo's the garden is pretty much just dirt right now. If you have the superpowers and can turn dirt into an orgasmic experience of lush flora.. your hired.
I'm looking for someone with a funky eye, green thumb and a creative type... possibly even vegan to help me with this task.
Experience is necessary.

STOP PRESS: NO VACANCIES UNTIL 2013
We live on a 96 acre property at Dixons Creek in the Yarra Valley, 65km north east of Melbourne. Most of our land is forest with abundant wildlife such as kangaroos, wombats, echidnas, wallabies, goannas and dozens of different bird species. It is a bit like living in a nature park.
Our small farm consists of a large vegetable patch and orchard, which provides most of our fresh produce with a small amount left over for sale at a weekly organic market where we have a regular stall. Help is always welcome in the garden as well as with small building projects and property maintenance.
We provide accommodation for you in our spare room with double bed. We also provide all food (shared with us)and is mostly vegetarian. In return we ask that helpers work for around five hours a day. There is a dam to swim or fish in, plenty of opportunities for bushwalks or resting in our hammock. If you have your own transport there are many places of interest for... more inside

I am 74 and single but live with my partner, Grace. Travelled extensively for 25 years. Have hosted o/seas students from France, Germany and Hong Kong. I worked for nine years as a tour guide at Federation Square in Melbourne. Spent 6 years as a city of Melbourne guide for the City Council Tourism Office. I love introducing travelers to my city, as a way of re-paying the generosity shown to my wife and I when in other countries. Some light gardening, or a bit of painting would be very helpful. I am fit and active and have two like-minded children who also enjoy contact with tourists. My profession was as a teacher of Media Studies, Film Production, film history etc at secondary school level , and at University

Welcome to beautiful South Gippsland, an area rich in history and beautiful landscapes. Primarily a dairy farming area, we also have magnificant beaches and National Parks. Korumburra used to be a coal mining area 100 years ago and the Coal Creek Heritage Village is open to visitors free from Thurs to Mon.
We are only 20 mins from beautiful Inverloch beach, and 40 mins from Philip Island where you can see the fairy penquins and Seal Rocks. We are also close to Wilson's Prom, many winerys, the natural vast coastline of Southern Victoria, Wonthaggi coalmine and many other natural and historical sites.
Our property is 5km out of town, and is abundant with birds, including a large family of Kookaburras, parrots and other native animals, including possums, wombats, kangaroos, ducks and frogs. We keep chickens, hens and a rooster that free range and 1 little dog. Our property is surrounded by dairy farms, so there are often cows and calves at the fences watching us!
We have recently ... more inside
