We are a couple who are renovating a house and would like some help with the garden and general household stuff. We would be happy for someone to work for four hours per day in return for accommodation and meals.
We live in the Yarra Valley in Victoria, which is a beautiful wine growing area. The Healesville sanctuary is not far and is well worth a visit.
We have done lots of travelling and have hosted many people from all over the world.

We have a lovely 5 acre property in an area called Macedon at the foothills of Mount Macedon.

This is a lovely, rural area which offers plenty of quiet and country relaxation. There is much Australiana wildlife about and certainly is a good contrast to city living.

We have a dog, and a horse and two lovely children. We have a large, country home and would welcome any persons wishing to explore and enjoy our area in return for help, primarily with gardening and landcare.

We also have a separate fully furnished two bedroom cottage which could be used by more than one person, if this was of interest.

We are about 3km from the local train station and village, but we there would be many opportunities to hitch a lift or you can always use the bike.

Ideally like people for stays of 1 or 2 weeks, as we are new to this! Please note we have no space for the month of August. Thank you!

Presently we are not seeking help as we are rebuilding our farm to the new farm plan design. But feel free to let us know you are here if we can fit you in. happy travels in Australia. .Our free range farm has eggs, berkshire rare breed pigs and sheep and cereal crops, and lucurne. We are near the Murray river in northern Victoria. We would like help with hand collecting the eggs from straw nests (rare these days). And feeding and caring for the animals. We also compost and worm farm food manufacturing waste and have a stall at the local farmers market. We are currently building raised "wick" garden beds, so this will be a fun learning experience for anyone. I am a genuine aussie with a wife and 2 baby girls. I have been a guide in the tropics and worked on a crocodile farm so I have lots of stories and experience to share. I also like to go camping and fishing in the local forest"bush". Heaps of fun for those of like mind.

Our farm is located at Merton in the foothills of the Strathbogie Ranges in North-East Victoria about 50 minutes drive from the snowfields of Mt Buller.
Merton is a small farming community with the tourist town of Mansfield about 30 minutes away by car. Three other country towns Alexandra, Yea and Euroa are a similar distance. Melbourne is just under two hours drive away. The area is extremely pretty with farms scattered among the rolling hills and the valleys. Merton village is very small with a few houses, an old church, one general store and a public recreation area that includes tennis courts.
Our farm offers a true piece of Australian rural life with more than 330 hectares where we breed Angus cattle and have a large assortment of chickens, ducks and geese, five dogs and a cat and our cows have calves at foot.
We also share the farm with numerous kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, wombats, parrots and the occasional koala.
We also publish magazines including the North By N... more inside

I live in a community called Moora Moora which is 250hectares, mostly forest and some cleared land on the top of a mountain. However I'm looking for help in my private home within this community.

The visitor will have their own room.

Some of the help will include the following activities:
-collection of kindling, stacking wood
-cleaning (household)
-gardening
-laundry
-some cooking
-looking after a 10 y.o. (including collection from school sometimes)

It is possible that other HelpX Hosts living on the mountain may need some help from you also. This could include helping them for one or two days of the week.
