We have a small farm smallholding by the Atlantic ocean. At the moment we have a horse and pony, some goats and a dog actually a rather mad puppy. We have a lot of fowl, hens chickens ducks and we sell eggs . This year we have extended the garden and there is a lot of work yet to be done. We are within cycling distance of three beaches one that has a resident dolphin in the summer and the other two great for surfing.Plenty of Irish music in the town and not just for tourists!!!. For the lover of other music plenty of good stuff in the next town 10 min by car great music there 7 nights a week in the summer. We have plenty of bikes and really great walks and lots of hidden extras. We as a family love to cook and enjoy all sorts and a odd glass of wine.

We are into ecological self sufficiency farming producing most of what we eat and use ourselves.
We are actively preparing for Peak Oil and specialise in food producing survival skills. We think we may be some bit ahead of the times to come. Our lands are about 80 acres and we have some cattle, horses, sheep, goats, pigs, bees and poultry. We do the main part of the farm work in the traditional way, as it used to be done through the ages. The accommodation is in a caravan near to the house.
Loads of hard and very diverse work possible, we are not really offering a job as much as an introduction to an alternative life style.
This is not 9 to 5 and the weekend off since animals as well as people need to be fed and cared for more regular than that.
Of course to be really self sufficient takes a community of at least 25 people and the times are not quite bad enough to make this possible today. For that reason we often have to choose what needs to be done most urgently. Cleaning the... more inside

We live in walking distance to the village of Tuamgraney, close to Lough Derg and Raheen Woods on 6 acres of certified organic land and grow many different herbs from which we make over 70 herbal products including Herbal Teas, Bath Milks, Creams, Ointments, Oils, Elixirs and Tinctures. We also grow a good variety of vegetables and fruits in two big polytunnels, outdoors in fields and around the apple orchard. We sell all products in the Limerick and Killaloe Markets every weekend.

We run a small family owned hostel on Tory Island, an island off the north west coast of Donegal. We are offering self contained accommodation in exchange for assisting us in managing the hostel on a day to day basis. Volunteers would need to be comfortable mixing with all nationalities and types of guests within a hostel type environment. As you would be mixing and possibly dealing with guests a reasonable level of english would be needed. Tory Island is a lovely island, access to the mainland is good, and during the Summer months volunteers are guaranteed the unique irish atmosphere that Tory generates.

We are a musical fun family with teenagers, busy with school and working in the community. We need help mainly with our tiny organic garden (digging, planting, weeding, feeding, mowing, picking, tidying, pruning, preparing food)and with house cleaning and sometimes with home improvements - painting, building a greenhouse, etc.
Helpexers are expected to work 5 - 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, and will receive food and lodging (small room in our house) and will be included in any trips we take to beaches, gigs, etc.
We live walking distance from Killarney, Co. Kerry, in southern Ireland, hidden away in a beautiful forest, with 3 cats. The Killarney National Park is nearby and internationally famous as a UNESCO biosphere reserve.
We like people and help!!

Dan offers a stay in one of the most beautiful parts on the Sheeps Head peninsular in West Cork. This isolated area looks straight out onto the Atlantic and is completely unspoiled by the ravages of civilisation.

It would suit a single person or couple who are self-sufficient and enjoy the peace and quiet of living in real countryside near the sea. Accommodation is available in a caravan or small house for medium to long-term stay. Help is needed on the land generally and in the organic garden near the sea.

Dan does not have internet access at home and emails may not be responded to for a while so please leave a message at the phone number given.
