We are 6km from Lakes Entrance, a pretty fishing/tourist town on the East Gippsland coast. Half of the 90 hectares is native forest, the other half is used for grazing horses. Accommodation offered is a room in our small house, sharing our bathroom and toilet facilities and eating with us. We are a couple in our sixties, active and involved in our horse business and visual arts. We love good food, a glass of wine and good conversation.
We are hoping to find someone who loves gardening, because we never can find the time to do it. Sharing the cooking would be nice, too.
At present we are bent on finishing a straw bale building, a project that has gone on far too long.

Meg is unwell at the moment. Can't take helpers until further notice. Sorry!

Pretty little farm. One hour's drive from Melbourne CBD. 6K from nearest public transport. 20K to Melbourne/Bendigo train at Woodend or Kyneton. On the Great Dividing Range in Spa and Goldfields country. Rich soil and spring water.Large dams for swimming but very cold water. Lots of native trees and wild life on farm. Easy to see birds but most animals sleep during day. Adjacent to Wombat Forest, Daylesford, Macedon Ranges and Hanging Rock but you will need a car to visit these. Some snow in winter but not very much lately.
Stock; beef cattle, meat goats, few sheep, some pigs and chooks. Sell produce by word of mouth.
Old farm house with large garden, cats and dogs. Lots of lovely people in the neighbourhood too.
Meg is the farm owner and grandmother, Ciaran is the son and farmer. He is also an arborist. Cyra and Devan are Ciaran's children who visit at weekends.
We need help around the house and p... more inside

I have a small two storey house on one acre on the outskirts of a very small rural township in central north Victoria, population 780, 175km north of Melb.

The work I have is mostly gardening and outside maintenance, perhaps some painting (in and out); ressurection of a very sad vegie garden, connection of a water tank and garden irrigation system.

I am a one person family, with adult kids living close by. I am the co-owner of a renewable energy small not for profit business and work full-time but close to home. Can provide a small upstairs bedroom, bathroom and with a bit of tweaking own lounge area - or this could be a second bedroom. When making contact please indicate when you need accommodation and what work skills you have.

Hello! We are looking for helpers to start in January.

We are Rob, a landscape gardener and environmental scientist. And Jack, a studying architect. Together we are trying to create a small self sufficient property on an old abandoned hippie commune near Malmsbury, an hour north of Melbourne.

There is lots of work to be done, but we mainly need help with setting up a small organic veggie patch and orchard, as well as many different construction projects.

Pick up, and drop off from Melbourne is possible.

We have both done helpxing in Europe and loved the experience and now have decided to give hosting a try!

We currently have solar power, tank water and composting toilet set up. But are now looking to expand this to include an organic veggie garden, small orchard, possibly goats, sheep or even lamas! The construction work to be done includes an outdoor entertaining area, paving, stone walls, pizza oven, bathroom fit out, deck as well as many other projects!

So the w... more inside
