Outback adventures!

*Currently working on building an ecodome or earth bag home if you are interested in this style of building will be happening over the next month**

We are looking for positive people to explore sustainable living in the Australian Outback.

Tasks this winter include rendering earthbag domes, collecting firewood, feeding & watering animals, care of small flock of chickens, improving pasture and trails and maintaining gardens.

Surrounded by the Pilliga Forest, we have 500+ acres, mostly forest, with a small breeding alpaca herd. Wet-weather creeks, fantastic night skies and shady camping areas provide a real wilderness experience. BYO accommodation or we can generally provide a bed or two.

We're 2.6km from Newell Hwy midway between Brisbane & Melbourne on a major inland route; we can pick up from Gunnedah or Narrabri (~1hr away) or possibly Tamworth or Dubbo (~2hrs)

As well as the alpacas, there is a maremma herd guardian dog, cats, chickens and ... more inside

Hi, we (Zoe 31 and Shmu 29) have recently started a mixed farm and fermenting business.
Our farm, Warinyan Farm, is a young organic farm growing veggies, herbs, fruit, eggs and beef. We also make fermented products under our brand 'Bottled Culture' like sauerkraut, Kimchi and kombucha from our veggies and sell them at our local farmers markets along with eggs and fruit and veg. We have chickens, geese, guniea fowl, and cows to look after and a large market garden and orchard to maintain. We are also building a small natural house. Situated 30 mins from beaches and town (Taree) in the picturesque Manning Valley. We share the farm with my recently retired parents, on a journey together towards self sufficiency. We use holistic management and permaculture principles to guide us along the way.
Jobs mainly involve kitchen work (food prep, fermenting, jarring, labelling), gardening (weeding, planting, harvesting, bed prep), feeding or moving animal pens, and some natural building.
