Hello, I am a busy working mum with two children aged 7 and 4 looking for someone to help around the house. General house keeping and cleaning along with a little babysitting for a 3 hours per day day, 6 days per week.

We are situated in the beautiful seaside town of Torquay and can offer a bed in a shared dormitory in my husbands backpackers, which is a 2 minute walk from our house. There may be the possibility of staying at our house in the future but we currently have a lodger there.

VACANCY on the 28th of September to help us do some fencing!
I run a bed and breakfast here on the North Norfolk coastline, being located just half a mile from a sandy beach that you can walk to easily. I have a bike you can use but of course your own car would be a bonus to you.
I don't have children to contend with so am not looking for a built in baby sitter!
Very quiet and laid back here with lots of wildlife and natural stuff... no night clubs so you must be happy to accept that fact although there are two local pubs within walking distance and I have a tendency to enjoy a bottle of vodka on occasions or two.

TASKS ARE ONLY SUITABLE FOR A MALE APPLICANT (not female, I can do female things myself!) DUE TO BEING QUITE STRENUOUS.

Four hours for five days per week, two whole free days at your choice in return for a comfortable bed, power shower and home-cooking. I always have a freshly made cake in the kitchen so no one goes hungry. This position can be open ended timesca... more inside

Are you available in October for 3-4 weeks? Would you like to spend part of your stay in London and the other part in the Norfolk countryside? Have you got some DIY skills and do you like dogs/cats? Is your English of intermediate level or above? I am looking for a disciplined and hard-working person to help with the following: a range of maintenance jobs in the house, some furniture moving, removing bathroom tiles, taking down/putting up shelving and various other jobs. The work will be based in London part of the time and Norfolk part of the time (where there will also be some woodcutting, painting and gardening). Dog and cat are part of the family - so you need to like animals, not have any allergies etc. In return I can offer a nice environment, good, home-cooked food and help with your English as I am an English teacher. If you are preparing for an English exam or need better English for job applications, this could be a good opportunity for you. I look forward to ... more inside

We are an active semi-retired couple with a son and lodger who come and goes from work as they please. I am an active Helpxer in Europe but now for light duties only.

From about mid May we have a need for a man/woman for about a week who has working experience at decorating as we need ceilings throughout painted (with preparation work) and 2 rooms minor preparing and painting. We say mid May as being the earliest we can throw windows open for ventilation reliably.

I would estimate 10 to 14 days work involved.

The working day will be leisurely and dictated by the needs of the job - but probably no more than 4 a day and may be more or less - but we are relaxed about that. So 5 days on and weekend (or other days) free but catered for as you wish.

There is lots of spring cleaning and work at the allotment nearby- strimming, digging, tidying and such for a partner.

We have a single room in the house but have a summer room with futon bed for 2 with facilities in the house ... more inside

We are an intentional community of about 50 people (adults and children) living in separate self-contained units within a Georgian manor house, stable block and cottages on 40 acres of land. We work the farm co-operatively with the aim of producing a substantial part of our food including meat, milk, eggs, fruit and vegetables.

Land includes 20 acres of pasture, 8 acres arable, 2 acre walled vegetable garden, greenhouse and polytunnels, orchard, a small area of woodland and a lake and garden. We have dairy cows, goats and sheep as well as hens, bees and pets. You may be working on just about any job on the farm: with the animals, gardening or on the grounds and buildings.

We generally host up to 3 volunteers for a fortnight at a time.

Accommodation is in a shared room with adjoining galley kitchen and shower room.

We provide food for you to self- cater most meals. We have a communal meal every Saturday evening.

We accept volunteers from the end of March through... more inside

Volunteers welcome who are interested in helping to create an English garden, staying in my home in Birmingham. The work will be hands on, landscaping, digging, planting, weeding, getting hedges under control. You need to know a little about gardening, and be able to use lawn mower and hedge trimmers etc. I'm looking for people who can work fairly independently, and enjoy the work, and enjoy being creative within a general outline plan.

Some decorating and helping around the house would be involved too, particularly when the weather is not great.

Food and accommodation in exchange for 4 hours work a day with 2 days off per week. One of the work days may be on the weekend. We will probably cook together in the evening most of the time, and food will be available to help yourself for breakfast and lunch, and you will be considered one of the family.

I should mention that my house is having a lot of work done, so some rooms are not yet decorated, and I am hoping to be rea... more inside

We are busy trying to complete two large house extensions and at the stage where we need help with some of the following jobs. Woodcutting, wood clippings shredded, gardening, strimming, painting and decorating, there are paths to lay, plumbing, tiling etc. Some can be paid work if you have skills to offer and we are open minded about length of stay.
We live in a quiet rural area just behind the centre of the village so, apart from the local pubs, there is no night life. We are happy to take you out with us if we go anywhere and there is a limited local bus service.
We produce a lot of our own vegetables and fruit and we keep chickens. We are not vegetarian although sometimes I cook vegetarian food. We have had quite a few helpers and we have all enjoyed the experience and the cultural exchange and we are still in touch with some of our helpers who became friends. We are probably looking for more mature helpers than students now but if you read this and feel you might suit what w... more inside
