This is a small charity based in the North East of Scotland. The Centre is situated next to Brucklay Castle and has approximately 25 acres of woodland and about 20 acres of pastureland. We have 14 horses, 26 dogs, 20 cats and 44 owls. So it is essential volunteers love animals and do not have allergies to animals. Experience with animals or working in woodland e.g chainsaw work, chopping wood etc.
We currently are looking for people with forestry skills for thinning our woodland, also people with joinery skills to help us to build new aviaries for the owls.

We require 3 or 4 volunteers to help us care for our animals some of which are used as therapy birds/animals for our work with the elderly and children and adults with special needs. We have a lovely home here in an absolutely idyllic location but it is time to be more green. Help us be more efficient. Would love a vegetable patch, a dyke, more recycling, would like to put in a wood burning hot tub, need trees cut and shown how to manage them so we can supply some of our own wood, and even to discuss an earthship. However right now we need to know how to manage our garden, we could be much better, we could plant the right herbs in the right places, we have a dark place that could maybe grow mushrooms, I wonder if hens or a goat are possibilities. We are GREEN in every sense of the word so ideas from an experienced exchanger would be great. We want to know - what else can we do????

We would also be interested in someone willing to do some house keeping, general house chores, food prepping/cooking and gardening, mainly day to day running of the house with ongoing projects outside.

The accommodation we offer is a caravan, so you can come yourself or we have ... more inside

Hello
I am looking for a fun loving female helper to assist me in enabling my daughter to get involved in different activities and help keep the house organised and clean. My daughter (14) has cerebral palsy and needs to be supported physically. She has a powerchair and standing frame. So keeping active through cycling, swimming, horse riding and pilates is particularly important. I would like a helper to work along side me to assist her to develop her fitness and skills. We would also work as a team to keep the bedroom and living areas clean and tidy. It would be 25hrs a week with two days off.
We live on the Black Isle in a beautiful rural location surrounded by farmland and 5 minutes from the beach. the skies are a source of entertainment and the scenary makes a photographer of anyone! We are equi-distant(7 miles)from quaint little villages which can be reached by bus or bike. There are energising walks along the beach or through woodland forests. It is great for cycling. Looking for help July 1 - 14th and August 12th - September 28th. Lots of work in the trees - pruning, thinning, chopping and also making mushroom logs and foraging and using what we find. We grow vegetables so weeding and digging too. Have a table tennis table and welcome people who like to play! Have also been growing trees from seeds I collected and lots of vegetables growing.

You need to work 25 hours a week (and help at mealtimes) but when you work is flexible (for example you are welcome to go for a weekend to Inverness ) and in return you will get your food and a tent/Caravan and wifi!

We are 5 minutes from the Insch train station, 35 minutes from Aberdeen, and you can walk or bicycle to the village where there are shops and a friendly pub.

I tend to prepare food from scratch and like the idea of a simple sustainable life (with wifi). Vegetarians are welcome but we do eat some meat.

I am mainly interested in traveling, Forestry, cooking and and mushrooms. I al... more inside

*Hi there, just a little update; at the moment, I think I'm fully booked. Feel free to get in touch in case of cancellations. Thanks!*

My son and I have lived on this smallholding for the past 15 years. We have a cottage, a rustic bothy/music rehearsal room where sometimes couchsurfers and helpx guests have stayed, a workshop for art and creative projects. We enjoy crafts, I make things from beach wood and my son is studying design.

The land is approximately 1 hectare, I have planted over 500 trees and they are just starting to mature. There is a vegetable garden and a polytunnel (greenhouse). I try to grow all my vegetables and I am still learning about preserving vegetables so that we can be self-sufficient as much as possible. I also have chickens for eggs, a cat that lives outside and a very energetic young dog!

I like to have contact with the things I need in life. Apart from growing food, I plan to use trees for firewood and at present, I use waste wood from build... more inside

We are retired but active couple, we have 8 acres of ground full of wonders such as horses, chickens, a dog and a cat, out buildings, a wind turbine, gardens and a vegetable plot therefore we would like some people to come and help us out in and around the house and land.
We are sociable pair. we have 4 grown up children who no longer live at home so we have space to host people and we want to share our home and stories with interesting people who like to do the same! We have rooms on Air BnB too, so guests often come and go, as do friends and family. Having Help Xers will be a great practical help but also fun and interesting for us and you too!

We are located between Stirling and St Andrews in the beautiful county of Kinross-shire 40 miles from Edinburgh, in a village called Drum. There are regular buses between Stirling and St Andrews and Kinross which is the nearest town with amenities such as swimming pool, supermarket, bakery, newsagent etc. We do live in the peaceful c... more inside
