This is a working sheep and cattle farm located in Queensland's Outback region. The farm is owned and managed by the Hobbs family.

The farm involves sheep and cattle work such as mustering (herding on motorbikes), fencing, driving tractors and other stock work.

We have had many travellers stay and work on the farm from a wide range of countries. Whilst the work is new to most travellers it provides an opportunity to learn new skills and to gain a unique experience of a working Outback Station.

As the farm involves learning new skills we recommend travellers to stay a minimum of one month so that they have the opportunity to experience a range of activities most visitor end up staying for 3 to 4 months. We are located in rural Australia.

Our family is friendly and welcomes visitors into our house. We eat some meals with our visitors and encourage them to participate in the local community events and activities.

I am an on site caretaker of a 55 home gated estate twenty minutes north of Cairns near the beaches.
I am hopeful that a helper(s)would assist me with gardening and property maintenance. Jobs would entail tasks such as spreading mulch, pruning, planting trees, etc. If a couple, perhaps one could do work around the home and the other assist me. It would be preferable if there was some knowledge of gardening, using tools, physical strength.
Our home is comfortable, roomy, has a pool. I would require a few hours a day during the week and would provide meals and laundry. WE have two pet cats.
We are minutes away from a bus route and close to shops and restaurants.

We are currently undertaking multiply projects on the property. First is constructing a terraced fruit orchid, this project is half completed. Secondly we are planting out a native lawn for the pretty faced wallabies, area is ready to sow. Thirdly we are constructing a natural pool, this project is still in engineering stage. We are looking for people to join us (no skills required) throughout our projects and experience an Australian lifestyle and hopefully build many friendships along the way. We currently have an opening for two people from Tuesday 12th of April to Sunday the 17th of April.
We have spare mountain bikes and surfboards for you to borrow and make the most of your stay. Great mountain bike tracks 2mins away and fantastic beach 10 mins away. We also have two kids so speaking languages other than English is also great for us and them. Will need own car.
Hope to meet some great people.

I AM NOW ABLE TO OFFER SIGNING YOUR SECOND YEAR WORKING VISA.

I would love to have 1 or 2 people give me a hand as I am sinking fast with the amount of work that needs doing. Before we get started I just wanted to say that we are polite people who appreciate any help coming our way. I will feed you well, work alongside you and not expect you to do anything I will not do myself.

The work is varied. From building to landscape, fencing, and the main two which are composting and tree planting. I have just started a very small business whereby I compost horse & cow manure so you would be expected to help me shovel Poo, Believe in or not I find people helping are often surprised that they have a good time. The work has some physical demands but you can work at your own pace with about 5/6 hours being expected of you most working days. I don't expect you to work more than 4/5 days each week. If you need some time off I will not be unhappy about that either. We have two dogs ... more inside
