400 ha of land with 1134m mountain top, pine forest, spectacular views. Nearest village 3km. At 450m, we have small valleys comprising fields of cereals, vegetables, gardens and fruit. We are currently herding sheep, horses, pigs and other farm animals. We aid reforestation. Our objectives are to build bungalows in nature. There are several houses and a big workshop. Particular skills: farming, gardening, building, mechanics and arts crafts.

We are specially interested in people who love natural habitats and would like to stay for a long time.

We need a knowlegable person to stay that could put energy into the large vegetable gardens.

At the moment we are working to improve the farm buildings and land. We are also developing activity holidays on and around the farm, so as well as day to day jobs like cooking, cutting firewood and gardening etc, we also need people that would like to get involved with, or start their own project.
We have a family from England staying, ... more inside

This year we cannot host people due to a personal accident...

Description of place:

Our tiny Finca is situated in a an eventual dry riverbed facing the Sierra Nevada.
At the moment the riverflow is quite vivid and the place is green and spotted with wild flowers...
It is quite a special place where you will experience one of the last traditional garden spaces of that area.
Today most of our neighbours cultivate huge and steep areas with caterpillar tractors.

Our place was only landscaped by a mule-plough. And we kept it like this, we do not even cultivate most of it, because we want to regenerate the natural plant cover of the land with its abundance of wild aromatic herbs and other medicinal plants...
We have established some important Indian healing herbs with the help of our mountain spring water.

For the harvest of almonds in September-October 2013 please go on reading:

We are both already over 50 years old and so it is a little difficult for us to beat our... more inside

Hi, I am an Italian lively woman aged 70 living in Andalucia (South Spain) in the Malaga province. I am going to move, with my cat, in a typical old Spanish country cottage set amongst the olive trees. I am scared of sleeping alone at night and I would be looking for a lady in her sixties who could live with me from the 15th September to the 15th October 2013. She must be vegetarian (or happy to eat vegetarian only food), an animal lover, speak basic Italian or Spanish and be a non smoker. I offer vegetarian food and own room with bathroom to share. Better if she has a car.

At the moment we are just offering accomodation for 2 hours work per day. So you will prepare your own food in your own kitchen. We would prefer couples than you are not so alone in your own woodencabin.

Placed on a hilltop, overlooking the Jalon valley and with sea-view toward the Montgo and the Javea-Benissa coastline the Refugio del Monte is a picturesque and silent setting, full of peace.

We (Gabi and Marcel) run a ecologic foodstore in Moraira and maintain this place up on the hill, offering the wooden cottages for rent to foreign tourist, yoga groups, etc.

With us there are 2 donkeys, 5 dogs, 2 cats and 11 chicken.
First permaculture projects have been started.

We are looking an enthusiastic helpers e.g. for the following works:

- gardening / farming
- construction
- renovation of wooden cabins
- permaculture projects
- housekeeping
- animal care

A personal, dirt-road usable car is not a must but of advantage. The next village is 2km down a steep ro... more inside

The cottage set on a working farm surrounded by olive groves, almond orchards and grain fields although we ourselves are not farmers. Our neighbour's goats, sheep, horses and chickens roam, often freely. Stunning scenery, perfect walking country yet only 2.8km from the historic town of Alhama de Granada and the walking routes of GR7 and Washington Irving Literary Route. Granada 1 hour and Malaga approx. 1 hour 20 mins. Seville and Cordoba around 2 hours.

We are setting up as small, exclusive dog kennel, behaviour, rehabilitation and workshop centre. The work needed is weeding/strimming, painting/weather proofing and setting up veggie garden along with the occasional bit of wall fixing. Once we are running, work helping with the dogs - cleaning the living and play area along with walking will be available. I will also sometimes require assistance with training them to pull a sulky (dog carriage). Currently this is just the harness work and so you might be asked to ride a... more inside
