Update:
Hello helpx friends! Currently we are needing couples or 2 friends travelling together to stay for a week or more during april and may.

Much of the help needed is involved in maintaining the orchards and harvesting fruit. We have free access to the internet for emailing, browsing and telephony. Accommodation for guests is in small cabins.

Our farm is quite close to Auckland but is not on a direct bus route so we usually pick people up from Silverdale. Many helpers stay with us as a base to start their travels in New Zealand and return at the end if they are flying out again through Auckland.

Regards Jo and Hal

Hello fellow travelers.
Due to Ian having surgery we are currently needing a hand with our chores. If you can help us out it would be most appreciated.
On our small life style block we currently only have cows and chickens on the farm side and on the domestic side 3 cats and 3 very energetic dogs. So you "must love dogs" to come here.
We are situated in South Auckland in the beautiful Hunua ranges. Our farm is a work in progress in which we require actively healthy fit people to come and help us with a wide variety of jobs. Skilled builders, painters and gardeners especially. There is a lot of gardening including vege and orchard work to do, painting, grubbing weeds, as well as other farm duties. There is also some domestic chores we need help with. We have two rooms and a separate bathroom for your use. We have visited many countries and welcome all nationalities however you will need to a fairly good spoken English to be able to follow instructions. We look forward to meeting y... more inside

We are a greenhouse grower growing flowers and we also have a small flock of South Suffolk Sheep, a few Chickens and Conan the Dog. I'm semi retired from work and spend a good amount of time on the property mostly involved with flower production (Calla Lilies etc) & property maintenance and my wife is still working full time, hence our need for some good woofer assistance!! We look forward in hearing from you
We would be happy to get some help with greenhouse work, garden and farm jobs and general household duties.
We live 7 minutes drive from Waimauku and about 6 minutes from Muriwai Beach. (Surf beach and Gannet colony)
there is no public transport to our property, however we are happy to pick you up from the nearest bus or train station.

*OUR CURRENT HELPER SEASON IS NOW FINISHED. WE WILL BE HOSTING HELPERS AGAIN IN SEPTEMBER *

My husband and I have a lifestyle block with dry cattle plus a large number of pets (dogs, cat, parrot, goats, pig, alpacas, lizards, chickens). We have herb & vegetable gardens and a small orchard. Our house is spacious and helpers have their own cottage. We have a games room and swimming pool. My parents also live in a house on our property. We're a caring, fun family and we live in a wonderful rural community. While we are fairly isolated we usually travel into town several times a week and are happy to assist helpers with transport. Farm work can be fairly strenuous so our helpers need to be able to cope with physical work, but we try to vary the workload. Please note that if you have allergies to grass or pollen our property is not suitable.

This season our projects include preparing vegetable gardens, trimming fruit trees, painting a fence, tidying up gardens & cleaning out anima... more inside

Update April 13 - no more helpers required for 2018, thanks :)

We live in Clarks Beach with our dog Bella and a collection of chickens. We are 40mins from central Auckland (by car, outside rush hour). There is a small shopping centre nearby and a lovely quiet beach within a few minutes walk. There is no public transport so you will need your own vehicle if you want to sightsee although we are happy to collect you from anywhere in Auckland and can take you to larger centres for shopping etc.

We need two helpers to assist with fruit picking and packing from approximately.............. We pick/pack fruit every 3 days. On these days there will be 6-8 hours work and on other days there will be little/no work (free time). We prefer a minimum stay of 10 days. Will suit two friends or a couple as you will be sharing a room.

We are not accredited organic growers but do use many organic principles in our orchard. In exchange for help we can offer you accomodation, free wi-fi and food... more inside

Helpx needed for 25 hours per week (4-5 hours per day) for 2 weeks. Must be happy doing outdoor physical work and able to use a chainsaw safely.
We race & breed thoroughbred race horses on 20 acres/8 hectares in Karaka 45 minutes from downtown Auckland and 15 minutes to the train station in Papakura.

We always have jobs on the farm and plenty of general maintenance like fence painting, tree trimming etc

We just had a big tree come down in the storm and need someone comfortable with a chainsaw to start cutting it up. We have a log splitter that is easy to use to split the Wood.

We are able to offer 3 meals and accommodation in exchange for up to 4-5 hours work per day/ 25 hours per week.

Would suit a single or couple (max) to come and stay.
We have a room in house (double). Wifi at the house. Our other helpx guests have enjoyed conversations over dinner to help with learning kiwi English, before travelling about NZ.

My partner and I have travelled extensively... more inside

Our property is about an hour's drive from Auckland airport with spectacular sea views on Awhitu peninsula: a 20 minute walk to west coast beaches and ten minute drive to half a dozen harbour beaches. We run an all grass cattle operation. This year we have 500+ beef bulls, three working dogs and a few sheep.

We ask a minimum of four hours work each day. There is always lots to do here. At the moment we are wanting ENERGETIC SELF-MOTIVATED people. Our highest priority at the moment is wood splitting, gardening, household cleaning/maintenance and help with the children over the school holidays.

There are four of us living on the farm. Joy (my partner) and myself, and my two children - Charlie 10 years, and Ella 9 years stay with us for weekends and school holidays. We are a busy, creative household, music playing and lots of projects on the boil.

Accommodation is separate from the house and shared guest bathroom in the main house. Evening meals are shared, breakfa... more inside
