It is time for asking for help and sharing again.
We are on a small farm working on self sustainability and providing small farm produce like eggs, chickens and plants for sale. We are just over an hour from Melbourne. We are looking for someone with some handyman skills to help with some minor maintenance at our place, painting, wood cutting, planting, weeding in exchange for a local stay experience, food and accommodation.
The standard of 4 hours a day applies but flexible with days and chance to get paid, especially if you have carpentry skills.
We eat mostly vegetarian, so looking for someone who is interested in vegetarian cooking and could share cooking skills.
This is our 7th year hosting and some wonderful friendships have been made and we now have "extended family" overseas that we visit.
You can contact for further info and discuss it further. Anybody with trade skills like carpentry would be awesome!
It can also be where you need a weekend escape into the count... more inside

We are Simon and Tina, a married couple in our early sixties who work part-time. Simon is a secondary school teacher and I am a community mental health nurse. We have four adult sons who live in Bendigo.
We purchased beautiful Amaroo 2 years ago and the property is located 10km from Centre of Bendigo. There are 700 Shiraz grape vines and extensive plantings of ornamental and fruit trees on the property. There is also a large picturesque dam with water lilies surrounded by ornamental trees and garden.
We can provide various options for accommodation, self-contained and separate from main house or bedrooms and shared facilities in the house itself. We enjoy cooking and eating all styles food/cuisines and would welcome helpers who want to cook and share their cultural dishes.
Bendigo is a large regional city founded during the 1850's when gold was first discovered here. There are many things for visitors to see and discover in this region and we would be very happy to assist helper... more inside

I live in beautiful, East Gippsland, Victoria, in the small town of Swifts Creek, up in the Victorian Alps, kind of halfway between Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra.
(Melbourne is 4 to 5 hours away by car, longer by bus. Canberra likewise. Sydney is about 8 by car, longer by bus.)
Swifts Creek is perched high in the Alps, and we get snow occasionally.... Spring and summer can be both hot and cold. I have lots of warm bedding etc.
Swifts Creek is close to the mountains, national parks, walking and bike tracks, and caves. It truly is a glorious little place. We are driving distance to some other beautiful areas.
I can drive us to visit places, and there are some buses.
I moved here in early 2016, as local minister/priest/trained social worker/community development worker, but a large part of my work is as a comunity development worker in some remote mountainous villages ... Again, in beautiful country.
I appreciate travel companions. I frequently travel amongst part of the lo... more inside

# LOVE HORSES & PONIES?
# LOVE A RELAXED ATMOSPHERE WITH A VARIETY OF ANIMALS?
# WANT LOADS OF TIME TO EXPLORE THE AREA!
# You WILL NEED to have your own vehicle & supply your own food.

*** Very relaxed 'workload' and lots of time to see the local area. The 'work' equates to an hour and a half most days, and up to 3 - 4 hours or so every now and then - depending on weather and what is happening at the time. Its flexible - and as long as horses are fed and watered - everything else can be worked around. (Hence you needing to supply your own food for the most part)

We are located at Wallacedale, which is in South West Victoria, not too far from Mount Gambier (South Australia), Hamilton (Vic), the Southern Grampians, Warrnambool, Portland, Naracoorte etc.... all within a couple of hours at most from here.

We would love to host one or two friends travelling together or a couple - and would love to have you be 'part of the family' for your stay here :D ... more inside

Retired couple (fit 70ís) living in a tiny town in the Strzelecki Ranges (500 m altitude).
Small orchard and poultry with views to sea in distance.
Extensive lawns and garden.
Approx. 2.5 hours east of Melbourne. Car essential.
Regular train service within 30 minutes.
Carrajung is central to many landmarks in eastern Victoria. The Gippsland Lakes, Tarra Bulga National Park, Wilsonís Promitory and the 90 mile Beach.
In exchange for accommodation and all meals duties would typically be gardening and general outbuilding maintenance. No specific skills are required, we just roll with the general trend of what needs to be done and then we do it our way.
We have travelled extensively both here and overseas. We have a good knowledge of what to see and do in our country and enjoy the company of international visitors.

My farm, located near Kaniva, is a commercial agricultural enterprise in the Wimmera region of western Victoria (midway between Melbourne and Adelaide). It has been owned by my family for more than 130 years. In 2006 I purchased the major portion of the productive land from the family Estate, and now annually crops nearly 425ha to spring wheat, barley, oats, field beans and canola. I am fully responsible for the management and on-going development of the farm, with a "share-farmer" undertaking many of the farm labour components.

I do not have enough work to keep you busy long-term, but I certainly have enough for 5-10 days. The deal I am offering is that you help me with general farm chores (e.g. burning up heaps of branches, some fencing repairs, cleaning up branches under trees, caring for my lawns and garden, cutting up firewood, planting farm trees, etc) and I provide free meals and accommodation and a modest weekly payment. Depending on the day/weather we would work for ... more inside
