A welcoming country cottage and garden on the beautiful Dingle Penninsula. I have always had an open door policy and this is an opportunity to welcome people from all over the world come stay short term in this little magical village in exchange for that I'd like help with jobs around the house and garden. I speak French, German, some Spanish, love food and play Irish traditional music and am always interested in learning about new cultures!

The house is surrounded by greenery, neighbours with chickens, dogs, horses and organic gardens! The nearest village with shops, hotels and bars is a 25 minute walk, there are 3 stunning beaches only 15 minute walk and a local craft brewery and beautiful bar with weekly live music is only a 10 minutes away.

We will be looking for help in the spring, late March on words. Building dry stone walls around the garden. We would be happy to teach helpers how it's done, the traditional way, laying some slabs and helping in the garden with weeding, planting and that kind of thing. Or indoor painting and decorating if it's raining. We live on the west coast of Ireland in an old farm house which we renovated. There is fantastic surf, close to the see. Beautiful walks and five minutes from our little village .The house is warm and comfortable with a double bed room with it's own bathroom, suitable for a couple. Food plays an important role in our life. We love to cook, grow our own vegetables and raise a lot of our own meat or get it locally from organic and free range farmers. We are on the main road on the bus route to all the nearest towns. We hope helpers might stay a week or so.

This is an 18th century listed farmhouse, with a partially restored courtyard and outbuildings in need of lots of love and attention - particularly stone work! The property is set on 4 acres of mixed woodland, meadow and garden - which is in need of constant care also - We are definitely looking for helpers who love the outdoors:)

CURRENT JOBS
- Painting
- stone work (mainly low wall building) with host
- for rainy days there are numerous smaller indoor jobs such as cleaning stone walls in reclaimed sheds and painting woodwork/doors/windows

BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- a fair amount of work in exchange for meals and accommodation. We have been working for more than 20 years to make improvements to our house, garden and woodland area and it is absolutely a labour of love. We would like to stress that we are looking for likeminded people who will enter into this spirit as we have had experiences with helpxers who had other priorities and it wasn’t a great experience!

hello helpers

please read our profile fully before sending a
message :)

jobs for February include tree planting, hazel coppicing, wood chipping, wheel barrow compost/soil around, spring cleaning
if a helper has a particular skill we might do something totally different to take advantage of their skills'

last minute requests suit us fine, we don't plan too far ahead.

we welcomed a little girl into the house on new years day 2016 so helpers would need to be comfortable around a 2 year old.

We are looking for people who we would like to spend time with. people with, enthusiasm, common sense and the ability to do physical manual work. "non smokers only", creative helpers welcomed.

we basically are looking for someone who wants to learn by doing and is not afraid of work.
we enjoy having helpers but we prefer helpers who are interested in what we are doing not someone who just wants to extend their holiday.
I (paul) have helpxed myself in Sweden, France, ... more inside

We are a small busy family - Mum and two teenagers (aged 14 and 17). I travel sporadically for work and so would like someone responsible to stay with the children when I am away. We would love a Spanish speaker so the children could brush on their spoken Spanish. There might be a little driving involved, but the kids get themselves from school and back and to their sports, so this is unlikely. Main contributions to our household would be shopping, cooking and general keeping the house clean and tidy, and dog walking and of course, we would love someone who would like to become part of the family for the time she is with us.

We have just moved into a new house and if you know anything about creating edible gardens that would be a bonus. The garden is small, but hopefully we can produce some of our own food.

You can walk directly out of the house to the harbour (2 mins walk) with its small boats and a long beach to walk on. You can also walk directly onto the Greystones - Bray ... more inside
