On our 7 hectare property we raise beef cattle, produce haylage, grow pine and gum trees for lumber and firewood.
We are a lifestyle farm with all the normal farming practises to be experienced from animal husbandry to fencing, fertiliser spreading, weed control, hay making, tractor work, firewood collection, nut tree maintenance in a pecan, hazel nut and chestnut grove.
We are able to offer all the facets of farming life through most seasons of the year, comfortable quiet accommodation in our two storey/five bedroom home and home cooked meals in exchange for four hours of your labour a day. We prefer to have helpers who are non smoking & are over 25years old. Because of where we are situated we are suited to those who have their own transport. We in return will showcase to you the best of Bay of Plenty!
Looking forward to hearing from you

We're in desperate need of a hand around the garden, it's really gotten out of control! No experience necessary, it will be mainly ripping stuff out and digging.

We live on a long skinny dairy farm with three sheds, nestled in against the Paeroa range in Waikite valley, which is about 30 min drive out of Rotorua (headed for taupo).

I can come and pick you up from town, and drop you back if you dont have a car.

Most providers get cell phone reception here and our closest shop is a 10 minute drive away.

We have A doc track coming off our farm, other beautiful walks near by, as well as natural and man made thermal hot pools. If your interested in hunting (small game or deer), there is also the opportunity here and of course we can show you around the farm and in the milking shed! There is also an area of geothermal activity on the border of our farm to visit.

We are a family of four with two young children, George and Lachie. We live in a four bedroom house and share ... more inside

Hi, I live up on a hill country farm, with beef and dairy cattle. Horses which I have bred. Close to the coast with wonderful views. In a new home, which is better than most motels, with a private bathroom for helpx people. With solar and wind turbine for power. So only those people who are considerate and do not want to use the power all night and flatten my batteries?

Close to the coast if somebody wants to go fishing.

Please non smokers. Also if you do not intend to come and stay with me, please send a text or email. I have had two lots of people who told me that they were going to arrive and they did not turn up. Most annoying after cooking a nice roast chicken dinner.

I love to paint when I have time.

My gardens always need weeding

I also have horses that need riding and the horses also like to help with the stock work.

It would be great to have a nice person to help me on my
farm and enjoy my lovely home.

I enjoy cooking for my helpers and le... more inside

Hi we are a family of 4 living on a peaceful lifestyle block in the hills above Tauranga. We have a friendly 4yr old boy and a 1 year old girl. We have horses, a dog and a cat. 15 minutes to Tauranga and 20 minutes to Mount Maunganui.

Looking for someone for short term stays to help with a variety of jobs around the property such as mowing lawns, weeding, cleaning, weed spraying, dog washing. If you have specific skills such as building, fencing, experienced with horses or like cooking we'd love to hear from you. Must like big hairy friendly dogs and small children!

We ask for 4 hours work per day in exchange for 3 meals per day and the use of our caravan which has two double beds. Food will be available for you to make your own breakfast and lunch, dinner will be cooked unless you would prefer to cook you own. We are flexible with when work is done. Prefer non-smoker, non-vegetarian with own transport as there is no bus but I'm happy to provide rides into town when I can. ... more inside

Hi there,

** NOT TAKING ANYONE AT THE MOMENT **

Our ideal helpxer is single person on a gap year who is looking for a homestay type situation. Non-smokers only and no vegetarians.

We believe in WORK HARD, PLAY HARD and enjoying this beautiful paradise that we live in.

Our 2017 helpxers were really fabulous, so you have a hard act to follow ! We would prefer a friendly easy going person with good English who wants to be part of a family life for your stay. Typical length of agreed stay = 4 nights. If we like you and you like us, then there may be an opportunity to stay longer, such as a month.

Lots of variety in the kinds of work: gardening every second day but also cleaning, painting, filing and office work, running errands, looking after our teenage son during the school holidays, cooking, baking, sorting, fixing etc. Do you have any special skills ?

Gorgeous garden, warm character chalet style home with wooden interior. Comfortable warm room with pretty views ... more inside

Due to family moving back from overseas and living with us we have not been taking helpx. They are now in the process of moving out and so we will be up and running very soon. We are a Christian couple with four adult children with one whom lives at home with us. We are proud grandparents of four (two who have just moved back from Japan). We have hosted overseas students for many years. Carolyn is gluten and dairy free. We enjoy Family, Church, Friends, Coffee, Motorsport and our home and gardens.

We started with a bare hillside of land where we transported on a house. We have a small regenerated area of native forest. We have done extensive planting and landscaping. We run a few cows and sheep. We live in a safe, quiet rural area with plenty of parking.

There are always tasks to do depending on one's skills, gardening, weeding, cutting hedges, washing the house or cars, cleaning windows, home maintenance such as painting outside and inside, wallpapering, housekeeping, etc... more inside
