Hello! We have recently taken a long break from having helpers, but we are once again hoping to meet some more wonderful people.

We are an active family and we like to get out and about spending time at the beach or walking in the bush. We are healthy eaters and enjoy meeting new people. We also have a super affectionate 2 year old dog. If this sounds like it would suit you, please contact us.

Please look at our testimonials to see how helpers have enjoyed staying with us, but please note that there are no recent reviews for our house, as we have not had helpers for a long time.

OVERVIEW OF OUR HOME;
We have lovely mountain views, we are a short bus ride to the city centre, and we have a large spacious double bedroom with it's own spacious bathroom and separate toilet.

The back garden borders a reserve that leads to the foothills of Mount Wellington. You can walk to the top of the mountain from our house. At night, the wallabies come out to feed and we can often see... more inside

Stay in a 1969 insulated bus. Have your own living area and private space. We provide you with cooking facilities and a pantry to draw from. If you are interested in seeing how a permaculture property is set up from the beginning- then we are the place for you! We are in the process of setting up orchards, goat systems, heritage chicken systems and vegetable gardens.

We welcome some company on our farms, but- while we are happy to cook for you a couple of times a week, we value our family and privacy and expect you to be quite independent in your evenings, when you are not working. We are both permaculture design certificate holders and my husband has studied wholistic land management.

For food and accommodation, we ask 20-25 hours work per week. this could include fencing, garden planting, composting, mulching, weeding, mowing or whipper snipping.

We are a family of four with veggie garden chooks and sheep. Now we have a calf, and pony!

We re on the edge of the Snug Tiers reserve. Lots of wildlife including some Tasmanian Devils if you are lucky.

There is always heaps to do in the area and we get ourselves away to beaches, Bruny Island and Hobart from time to time.

A priority is an old cottage that was the office of an apple picking business in years gone by. The apple shed is still here and we are trying to maintain it. We are also planting windbreaks to protect the vegie garden. We live in a lovely rural community but are just 20 minutes from Hobart.

Both of us have travelled - even the twin 8 year olds have ahd a taste of Europe. Very welcoming of travellers.

We are a tourism business specialising in Horse riding at Kimberley (near Sheffield) and Cradle Mountain.

We have 35 horses including young and retired ones.

The work depends of what's needed at the time. It includes but is not limited to: cleaning up the shearers quarters or the house, cutting chaff, shovelling horse manure, catching horses in the bush, getting horses ready when clients are coming for a ride, baby-sitting, painting, weeding, etc.

( ps : horse riding is not considered as work :-)

Sometimes you might go to Cradle Mountain with us for the day and help us there with the horses and join for a ride or a quad tour.

Non-smokers only.

It is best if you like children as we have two boys ( 5 and 1 year old)

Your accommodation is in the shearing quarters in Kimberley (about 800m from our house) shared with other helpers and customers -

We provide food and often share meals together.

Phone reception if you have Telstra only. You can use our Wifi a... more inside

We are a highly acclaimed 2.5 acre display garden and rare plant nursery nestled at the foot of the Great Western Tiers in Northern Tasmania. It is a beautiful 1 hour drive from both Launceston and Devonport and is on the main tourist route to Cradle Mountain. It has been described as "the most beautiful garden in Tasmania" (Leo Schofield).

The garden is almost totally pesticide free, has more than 40 heritage varieties of apples, greengages, plums, pears, a highly productive berry patch (raspberries, blueberries and Myrtis ugni) as well as a formal kitchen garden.

We (Matt and David) are a couple in our 30s, who recently moved to this magnificent part of Tassie from Melbourne.

We live in a three bedroom house, which is also on site. Helpers would have their own room with simple breakfast ingredients provided and dinner cooked for you. Although we encourage helpers to hang out with us and help us cook dinner (and enjoy a glass of wine in the process), it's a great way to u... more inside
