Hi there, our names are Alexis & Liana
Alexis is half Greek half French- a few years ago he left his life in Athens to live at his grandparents old property.

SO WELCOME to our property, located at the edge of a small village named Kirinthos in the north of the very green and mountainous island, Evia. After Crete, Evia is the second largest island in Greece - a quiet and peaceful place with diversified natural attractions.

This beautiful old property has two main villas and other small buildings which we rent to holiday makers or for events such as weddings or workshops (as yoga etc.)
There is also a big garden area and, as we love animals, a small farm.

Due to the size of the property, we would appreciate some helping hands who would like to support our project and discover our daily life! We would prefer hosting volunteers for long periods, such as 1 month or even more. We will be happy to make them feel like home!

We are an English family with 5 children (only 10 and 12 year old still permanently at home) who settled in Greece in 2009. We have a small olive grove of 170 trees and we need help with the olive harvest. This lasts approximately 10 days from around 20th November.
We need to get the olives off the trees and down to the local press as quickly as possible so we work fairly long hours (8:30am - 5pm with an hour for lunch). Because of this we have two days off a week when we will be happy to show you the surrounding area. We are walking distance from 2 villages, each with local tavernas and 4 Km from Kyparissia and local beaches. There are numerous beach and mountain walking opportunities for you to take advantage of on non working days.
We can provide a good standard of accommodation and will provide all meals on working days and all picnics and BBQs on day trips.
We have had several help-exers and WWoofers help us during the last few years and we, as well as they, have all really... more inside

Located in Mani, in the very south of mainland Greece, about 300m above sea level in the foothills of the Taygetos mountain range, overlooking the Messinian Gulf you'll find my 3ha of mainly olive groves with over 300 olive trees. I am in the process of converting to organic status and returning the land to traditional farming methods, i.e growing fruit and vegetables and perhaps keeping some livestock, incl. horses. The work in hand is varied and includes the maintenance of trees and harvest of olives, clearing land, rebuilding dry stone walls and housing for animals and humans. I aim to combine traditional materials, from sustainable resources, and recycled materials wherever possible and would welcome your help at any time of year, especially though at harvest time Nov.-Feb. In general I prefer longer stays, at least 2 weeks, longer after a trial period.

I've just finished building a grid connected photovoltaic installation on my land. The next project is to complete a carpe... more inside

Our house is on a hillside in the middle of an olive grove and surrouded by olive groves. We have 100 olives trees. There are fantastic views from the balconies and we are 800m from the beach. It's 5km to Pylos the nearest town and there is a supermarket at 2km. Lots of things to do and places to see, castles, a widlife sanctuary with flamingoes, voidokilia beach ( quite famous it's a semicircle ). We are in an agricultural area with tourists in summer and locals in winter. Our neighbours are very friendly.

We are offering very good accommodation, which is a double bedroom with its own bathroom, air conditioning / heating. Also a fridge kettle hotplate and toaster so that you can make your own breakfast from food supplied by us. Lunch and Dinner are eaten all together. Fiona is an experienced vegetarian chef who ran a London restaurant and she cooks fantastic vegetarian food. In exchange we want help with our olive harvest. We have 100 trees and it is too much for the two of us. ... more inside

I returned last December (2013) to my family's home on Paros Island in Greece after being a student and a high school and university teacher for the past 20 years in the United States and France -- teaching variously Social Studies, History, French, and English. I am slowly rebuilding our family home, using sustainable and traditional methods. I particularly want to find people with experience using natural building techniques -- straw, clay, lime-based solutions -- for rebuilding the surface of the newer part of our house (Ytong bricks). The house is beautiful and we can make it even more beautiful using the soft forms of natural building.
For October: I am looking for a person who can help me turn convert an electric washing machine into one that runs on bicycle power. If you have skills and want to help with that, please come soon! (Our washing machine just broke and it's the perfect opportunity to repurpose it!)
I am also looking for people who can help me replaster m... more inside

Hi beautiful people,

I am away for next months,
news soon

during february and october 2014 I will be farming in a field near Falani village, 10 km from Larisa city. I was volunteering the last years around Europe and I've experienced that many people tried to find a host in Greece and especially in this area without success. So, I invite you to stay here, even if you pass by for some days.
The field's size is 4000 m2 with a small house in it, able to host 2-4 people. There are 2 beds and place to put a mat. Outside, plenty of space to put a tent and to sleep under the stars. Water comes from a well, there is no water heater but in spring and summer the pipe water gets warm enough! The rest of the time we boil water and we take showers the asian way (using a bucket).
The place can be quite boring -I stay maybe 60% of my time in Larisa, the rest travelling. There will be an old bike available for going around or to the city(10 km).
There is already a garden of around 80 m... more inside

Yasou, my name is Marianna and I live in Crete, 9 km East of Rethymnon in the Venetian village of Maroulas. I have made research for many years about alternative ways of healing. Little by little I entered to the tradition of what people used to use in old times for healing with herbal remedies. I collect, dry and clean herbs, and after preparing tea mixtures and extracts of the plants in oil by the help from the sun. I have a store, in Maroulas, where I sell the products I prepare.

I'm looking for help to collect herbs from the mountain, the process of drying and cleaning the herbs, as well as packing and bottling them.

If you are interested to come, there are two posibilities:

* I need help at home, collecting and drying herbsm packing and bottling. Help for everyday cooking is welcome. We are a family of 4. We have two suns of 21 and 12 years old. The village were we live is 9 km from the town on the top of a hill. There is not easy acces to go to the city. There is on... more inside
