NOTE: Could use a hand with the garden and hauling, cutting and stacking wood. Suited best to those who are used to rather physical work.
We are flexible but around 5 hours a day seems to work well and we will provide lunch and dinner and a private room with wi-fi. If you stay a week of course a day off is in order! There is a great pasticceria, grocery shop, bars and pizzerias down below in the village.
The property consists of a group of 16th and 17th century stone buildings including Villa Raghezzi where Kali and I live, the farmer house where guests stay, the stalla for our sheep and hay, cantina for the wine and the grappa shed. Access is from the train station below, an 8 minute walk up hill which guarantees total peace and privacy and a magnificent view of the alps. We have a collection of 200 antique roses, make our own grape juice, and tend a large vegetable garden. The sound of water is everywhere originating from a pure spring on the upper boundary of the prop... more inside

In 1977 I inherited and have run this traditional bee farm which was started in 1917 by my maternal grandmother Licu Olla who introduced moveable beehives (one of the first to do so in Sardegna). I have three apiaries in the countryside and the wildflowers and rare endemic plants of this area make it an ideal place to keep bees. The area of Monte Arci, near the west coast of Sardinia, is of the highest quality environmentally and historically. It is part of Parco Geominerario della Sardegna and is poised to become the first natural park on the island. As an environmentally friendly activity our beekeeping is of the highest standard. I work the hives and farm organically (certified) and my ‘Mieleria’, powered by a photovoltaic system is built in the traditional clay bricks used in Sardinia. In addition to the bees, we have, distributed in several plots around the farm, an orchard consisting mainly of olive, apple, almond and pear trees. Since September 2012 there has been a library i... more inside

Hi! My name is emanuela and i'm 38 years old. I have recently finished building my house with straw bales and wood (and the help of many friends)(some internal walls and doors are still missing). The house will also host the headquarters of a no profit organisation i have founded together with friends. The house is self-sufficient from the energetic point of view.
There is a lot of land near by, mostly old terraces. I need some help with carpentry and drywalls in the house and to clean the land, improve the access to it and start producing organic food.
The land and the house, although immersed in the green, are very close to the city centre (30 minutes by bus). Genova is an amazing city, with the biggest historical city centre in Europe, a long and rich history as maritime republic, very beautiful and picturesque beaches and it's also very close to the Alps. I like mountains in every way and i would be happy to bring helpers there.

*We are looking for help for ONE WEEK ONLY - 13 to 21 October 2017 - NO OTHER OPPORTUNITIES for this year*

Our spacious and quiet 4 bedrooms house, situated above a cute village at the heart of Cadore and the Eastern Dolomites, lies just at nature's doorstep on the slopes of Mt. Antelao.
Every room has a balcony and the living room abuts on a sunny patio with mountain view.

We normally rent out the house to guests or use it for our own family and friends but a couple of times a year we gladly host volunteers.

Following the success of last year, we would like to have again 6-7 people between *26/5 to 01/06* to help with some house maintenance (painting, gardening, woodwork, renovations).

In exchange for 5h of work per day, besides full board; we are happy to guide our volunteers to explore the gorgeous surrounding mountains in the free time.

We are an extended family of 3/6 people, dogs and cats. We live in the south Italy (trulli area).

::: During this time we are only available for the project "Il Giardino del Teologo" :::

Commonly we need help from January/May and October/November (but it changes every year). At the end of October and first week of November we have the Olive Harvest! We use the traditional method of olive picking. It takes some more time, but gives a lot of pleasure. Also our son Yan Maria used to harvest olives every year :)).

We also need someone to cary and look after our little Yan (some hours in the afternoon, when he comes back from chidrengarden). It's very important to love to stay with children if you want to make this type of helpx experience.
He is very social and indipendent boy.

We need help to restore and renovate the house/laboratory. We work with stone, wood, clay and earth, iron, glass, etc... We love and respect the traditional constraction manner of this land. But ... more inside

Hello everybody! I used to travel and volunteer in organic farms for a while. Now it arrived my turn to have my own place and try do do something nice.

I bought a 2 ha farm with a little house. 1 ha is bare land an the other one is an orchard. I have many projects in mind, many things to experiment, I just need people to give me more and more ideas and will to experiment with me. People very enthusiastic in alternative ways of living and full of energy. People willing to stay long term are welcome, as well as permaculture people! I attended a 72 hours permaculture introduction course, so I'll be very happy to have permaculture people here!

At the moment I can accommodate 4 people. Two in a room, and other two in the living room. Shower and toilet are outside at the moment, but with your help we can finish up the bathroom inside, at the moment unavailable.

Things to do: very many!
Building new conpost toilets and plant filtered showers.
Improving irrigation
Prunin... more inside

We are an English family; Kevin, Jodie and our 3 year old son and 9 month old daughter on our farm of about 6 acres in our small rural community in the Montefortino area, right on the edge of the Monti Sibillini National Park. We made the move here from England seven years ago in search of a more satisfying and peaceful way of life and we have certainly found it! Situated in a beautiful location, we have stunning views of both the Monti Sibillini and wonderful rolling hillsides. Close to many walking and hiking tracks, woodland and river walks, but also only 3 km to local shops, we really couldn't have a better spot.
On the farm we keep a family of ducks, chickens, quail and guinea fiwl and live a very self sufficient life here, nothing goes to waste! We work our land with numerous vegetable plots, growing everything from augergines to zucchini, being as organic as possible. We have a passion for food and cooking, and love to experiment with the various crops we produce. We also ha... more inside

This was a rural community project that turned in the last years into a family farm. Now there's Ciro and his partner Katherina (swiss origin) running the farm with help from his sister Titta and his parents. Soon there will be a new familymember : )
Our main focus is on the bread. We cultivate ancient varieties of grain, we run a small mill and make two to three times a week bread, that we sell on markets.
There's also a huge vegetables garden, some fruit trees, an olive grove and a vineyard. We have pigs, sheeps, chickens, rabbits, dogs and cats.
On our farm the volunteers can share the daily work we do. We don't have work schedules or pre-plan the hours. There is always a lot to do. Volunteers will help us in the garden and doing the bread, making flour and feeding the animals.
With us you can learn how to do bread including the whole process starting form the grain to the wheat to the bread. You can also learn about organic gardening, making wine and how to preserve fruits a... more inside
