Come and stay by the sea in Ruby Bay, on the Nelson coast near Mapua. The gallery and house are over the road from a quiet beach, set in coastal bush and is nicely nestled in a sheltered bay. Our work at present includes property maintenance and development, gardening and cleaning. Graeme is an artist and printmaker, with a studio and gallery on the property. Jude is a museums advisor. We work from home, share interests in arts, cooking, music, and enjoying the local lifestyle.
Our buildings are contemporary and the accommodation is in a delightful garden cabin. Mapua village with wharf bars and cafés is nearby. We are half-way between Nelson and Motueka. Limited public transport. We have wifi and off-road parking.
We are hoping to find helpers who will fit with our relaxed but productive lifestyle and are happy to work on the property. We cook and eat well, grow garden veges, we are not vegetarian.

I live in a peaceful rural setting on 10 acres of mostly treed land, 10 minutes drive from Richmond, lovely swimming river, recreation reserve and walking track nearby, 15 minutes drive to the beach.

The work will be mostly gardening, sometimes housework, you can choose to do 2 hours a day for accomodation, or 3-4 hours a day for accomodation and food. Wifi available.
If you stay for a week or longer then I ask for 5 days work then 2 days off, Im flexable ifyou would like to work a whole day then have the next off thats fine too.

We have been very lucky this year and seem to have a full house until end Feb/March! If you are around after then, we would love to hear from you!! Otherwise very sadly we don't have space to accommodate anymore helpers - in a way that will allow both of us to engage and enjoy the experience. Safe travels and enjoy the NZ summer.

We live in Brooklyn Valley, 8 km out of Motueka. The valley boarders Kahurangi National Park and there are many local (from the house) walking; tramping, mountain biking, kayaking or fishing opportunities. We have WiFi and cellular reception :)

Our house is close (approx 16 km)to Kaiteriteri or Marahau the gateway to Abel Tasman National Park. We have 2 kayaks and 2(oldish) road bikes.

Our house and cottage have 7 bedrooms in total, so plenty of room for everybody. Beds, linen, towels provided. Both of us are excellent cooks with our daily menus including vegan, vegetarian, fish and meat dishes supplemented with salads and vegetables from the ga... more inside

Hello travellers!

If you like to interrupt your travels with some enjoyable work in an idyllic place, being creative with building and land maintenance, than we would love to host you on our land and in our family!
We've just come back from a wee holiday trip and one tree fell down and damaged our fence. Can you work with a chainsaw and love to chop and help rebuild?
Also, we need some help to build and create our new holiday place. Get creative in our hut building (walls out of rocks,, clay, wood) indoor cabinets, cupboards, table..., outside bath building, tree planting, scrub cutting, mulching, etc... or get fit with some land maintenance as normal at this time of the year and our garden and orchard loves always some help to.

We are a family of five and love living with and in nature, an organic and self-sufficient lifestyle, simplicity, the outdoors and travelling... therefore people and stories from all over the world. Our hillside land is home to 10 sheep, 2 goats (... more inside

Hi there,
We always have too many jobs and could do with some help from time to time.
We would love some enthusiastic helpers who can stay in our cottage.
We are situated 6km out of the village of Tapawera in the Kohatu area. About a 45 min drive from Nelson and Motueka.

We are looking for a couple to do some gardening and an assortment of other jobs, all depending on your skills, for a week or a few days. Our holiday cottage is vacant at the moment and that's where you would be staying. It would be a great time to get the garden around the cottage tidied up for renting to holiday makers.
We live on a small farm and have a sculpture garden and gallery on the property. A really peaceful spot.
Own transport is preferable but not essential as we can collect you from town if needed.
We are a relaxed easy going family and can guarantee you will enjoy your stay with us.
Look forward to hearing from you. Best contact is email and then landline and then cellphone as reception ... more inside

We are looking for some helpers with carpentry skills or design and sign writing skills. We have a gypsy caravan that needs some renovating, and a kitchen renovation project too. We also have some signs to make, and a website to create if there is anyone out there with those skills!

We are a family of four living on a little farm at the foothills of Kahurangi National Park. The pristine Graham River runs along our property. We run a 'pick-your-own' blueberry business, have a home garden, and graze sheep and cows. Jobs will include working in the blueberry patch - pruning in the winter, and mulching, weeding and picking berries in the summer. Other jobs include feeding and moving animals, gardening, mowing, and weed control. We also have renovation and painting jobs for those with carpentry or woodworking experience. We have great river swimming in the summer, and beautiful national parks nearby to explore. We have a good fire to keep cosy in the winter.
