I have a small detatched cottage and I run my Reflexology practice from home, running clinics locally. I also work part time as a Personal Assistant to a disabled lady locally. I have two grown up sons who have left home, one who has given me a beautiful grand daughter in 2015, and my daughter who still lives at home, in the middle of her teenage years.

I can offer a place to stay and food, occasional lifts; we live on a bus route, fairly rural so not as frequent as urban areas!

I would very much value in exchange is some help to maintain my home - eg decoration, putting up shelves (not essential!), garden maintenance, occasional de-clutter deep clean (done together, more fun with more hands on deck!) and someone who likes to cook would be fab, as I get bored of thinking up what to have every day. I find that I need to work as many hours as I can in order to keep the bills paid, but that leaves such little useful time and not many pennies to pay someone to help out, so I tho... more inside

Hello all you travellers out there :)

We are Mick, Lisa, and Jake, a couple living with our 15-year-old son. We have a scruffy dog called Dusty who is nice but a bit bonkers 1 yr old.

We are looking for preferably a couple, or someone with practical building skills who doesn't mind a bit of labouring and cooking. We are not looking for a building expert only someone who can carry out instructions and work happily.
JOBS COULD INCLUDE: MOVING STUFF, PLASTERING WITH HEMP AND LIME, GENERAL BUILDING WORK, GARDENING WORK, GRASS CUTTING, ETC.

Our project is restoring a large 2 story 90 foot long slate barn and in the process converting it into three living spaces, we are living in the middle bit, you will be staying in the finished cottage, and we will all be working on completing the final 'house' on the end. The building is old and interesting there are lots of opportunities to learn about historical restoration as well as modern construction and design.

We are converting ... more inside

Looking for a couple for approx 3-4 weeks during January 2016.

Come and stay on our wonderful smallholding set in the Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales.

We need someone to come around the smallholding. We have a number of jobs to do to maintain and update our property, both inside and outside the house.

Tasks will include helping to clear branches and tidy up the barns, dig our flower beds, and lots of other outdoor stuff.

Indoors we need a bit of help with the housework and with painting and general tidying up.

You don't need any experience, just a bit of common sense, a willingness to get involved and work.

We will need someone to spend around 5 hours a day helping, five days each week, with two days off per week - during those two days we'll do trips out to see local sights and have time to relax.

You will have your own private annex of the house including a bedroom, bathroom and small area for relaxing, although the main lounge is shared as is the ki... more inside

This is an eco-retreat centre in the foothills of Snowdonia. We host a wide range of workshops, retreats and events from the 1st March to 31st October. Check the website programme to see examples. We have a resident community ranging from four to seven people and extra accommodation for three or four volunteers. We need help cleaning, gardening, building, doing maintenance, wood cutting, cooking... we have been described as a 'Welsh Shangri-La' and Snowdonia is a stunningly beautiful area. And there's a steady flow of amazing people passing through. So, plenty of perks! We would prefer people who can stay for two weeks or more.

Having a break from hosting at the moment

We are a small family run mixed farm enterprise.Ken works in Carmarthen and Pat works from home.

The livestock consists of 50 breeding sheep and a small herd of Pedigree Welsh Pigs. All the lambs and piglets are raised on the farm. There are many dogs which are either sheepdogs or sporting gundogs, two cats, two old ponies and a few hens.

We can offer experience in a range of livestock tasks which will include cleaning the animal housing so can get messy! We need helpers who are not put off by farmyard smells. Helpers must also be comfortable around large animals - the pigs are big but friendly!

We are currently in the process of building up a small horticultural enterprise. So far there are 2 large polytunnels and a large fruit and veg garden. We hope to expand the horticultural side more again this year. Some of the tasks for this will involve physical work such as ground preparation/digging. We can offer experience in fru... more inside
