WE ARE LOOKING FOR HELPERS TO COME IN SEPTEMBER 2015. THANK YOU!

We are in rural Pembrokeshire, south west Wales - one of the most beautiful and interesting areas in the UK, with lots of old castles, lovely sandy beaches and rolling countryside. It is about 4 miles from Tenby and 8 Miles from Pembroke, and with beaches within 20 minutes walk. If you have a car you will have much more freedom to explore, however there is a bus service about ten minutes walk away, and a train station about 20 minutes walk...so if you enjoy walking and the coast - this is the place to be!

Our house is set in about two acres - divided into garden, paddock and rough land. We have a demanding 9 month old pup, two retired horses and a cat so being an animal lover is essential as you may be asked to look after the dog and muck out the horses, The dog is still in training so don't expect perfect manners...most pups can be annoying at times, and she is a big pup! Also quite bossy, so you need to be a... more inside

I live on a tiny smallholding overlooking the sea in wild west wales. It is a beautiful area of ancient woodland, sea and beaches, and lots of people who live simply on the earth. I am currently building a house and am looking for someone who loves cooking to cook for a team of three. We do eat meat, but we like mostly salads and vegetables on our plates! Cleaning duties also. (If you are a couple then the other person could help with firewood cutting, smallholding maintenance and easy building work.) We are a fun team - who build with joy and laugh a lot - and also support each other when we cry! I love yoga and meditation. The accommodation is a caravan with electricity and heater. Compost toilet. Access to hot shower. VERY LIMITED WIFI.

13-acre smallholding 6 miles from Llanidloes with geese, pigs, orchard, large veg and fruit garden and small commercial flock of free range chickens.

Help-X volunteers help us with all aspects of the farm - vegetable growing, picking and preserving, collecting and packing eggs for sale and helping with livestock and firewood. Help-X volunteers get a double bedroom, lots of good home-made food, compost loo and the chance to get involved in the life of a diverse small farm enterprise.

Chris is an ex-wwoofer from Old Chapel Farm where we lived in 2010-11 before we moved here. We are passionate about making a family-friendly business out of our small farm and like to involve people and teach them new skills. We welcome Help-Xs who really want to get involved in farm life and who are enthusiastic and self-reliant.

Projects for 2015:

We currently have 70 chickens and are producing eggs for sale for two shops and several local customers.

We are getting back up to speed with... more inside

Coastal smallholding 1 mile from the sea, with beautiful views and easy access to West Wales coastal routes. Now in its 4th year of development, featuring market garden, pasture and woodland.

We use our livestock to manage and improve the land, as well as providing food for table.
A small market garden is being re-established with use of polytunnel, and large eating/cider orchard which needs pruning to be brought back into full production.
Home is a bungalow that requires modernisation and we have spent 2yrs building a strawbale timber annexe. We also have a touring caravan for accommodation as well as a winterised bell tent.

We share our lives and home with 3 large dogs who are part of our family unit. We have goats and various waterfowl and poultry.

Work required is varied and depends on weather and priorities and helper skill set. We need helpers who can engage in our eclectic lifestyle and work without lists to move our dream home forward! An interest in permacultur... more inside

Trying to rebuild our off-grid home which was destroyed by fire 18 months ago. Electricity and internet access is available but intermittent/limited due to natural resources. Situated in a remote location with lots of interesting birds and local history relating to early people and Roman history. We are working towards making our small garden, a permaculture, so need help with landscaping and planting. We are rebuilding the house using lime mortar and sheep's wool insulation with a hemp plaster. We are also trying to make a rocket boiler so that we can have showers. Water is from a well. It is completely untreated but renowned for its healing properties. Accommodation is available in an old campervan and we have a compost toilet in the garden. You can also camp.Public transport is irregualar and a forty minute walk over a steep hill so own transport is really useful. The pub is at least an hour's walk. Perfect if you are looking for a retreat; not so good if you want to connect to h... more inside

We have a non-commercial organic small holding family home with two children aged 3.5 years and 7.5 years. Noola and Richard run an ecological consultancy business and occasional nature-connection/bushcraft courses and workshops for all ages. Parenting inspired by Steiner-Waldorf education and nature-connection mentoring. The land is organically managed and aspires to permaculture design. We need help with vegetable garden and traditional haymaking with scythe. We also need help building a new chicken house and a compost loo and other general maintenance work. It is important that helpers are gentle and friendly with the children. We are looking for helpers with their own caravan or happy to sleep in our bell tent and cook on our fire bowl. Helpers are offered beautiful friendly place to stay with good organic food in peaceful rural location and only requested to work on flexible basis 2-5 hours per day, for up to a week.

Smallholding which is currently underused, looking to develop fruit and veg growing. Have chickens atm, and previously have had Pigs and Dexters.
Close to Cardigan bay coast, where Dolphins can usually be seen in the warmer weather.
As we have no near neighbours (although only 2 miles from the coast and shops, I am looking for 1 or 2 people, who enjoy the outdoors and would be mainly helping with any of the following:- mowing, strimming, bit of fencing, and gardening. Needed when the weather warms up, probably April/May onwards.
No smoking, sorry I am not vegetarian.
I have 3 cats, no dogs.
About 20 hours a week in exchange for food and accomodation, will pick up and take to local bus route on the coast road.
