i've recently bought a house in the département called haute marne, which is part of the greater region of Grand Est. the house came with a huge garden, divided into one third flowers, one third vegetables and the last third a small orchard. i would be very pleased to have a helping hand now and then to be able to take better care of these. i do own 3 dogs, so dog-unfriendly people please refrain from asking. i am an long term vegetarian, and have started my retirement very recently. i do speak english, french and german fluently as i grew up in luxembourg. the location is in a very small and rather remote (next to no public transport) village. i could fetch helpers at the parking lot of exit 8.1 of highway A 31.

This is a language school run by Lucinda and Sandra both from the UK, there are 2 English language schools for French school children (& Adults). What is a little different about our schools, is that we have tried to set them up as a mini cultural exchanges. The children come to us for lunch or after school for tea. Most of the learning is done through repetition, singing songs or playing games, with the accent on communication skills and speaking.
What we are looking for is an extra native English voice, a second pair of hands to help with our group lessons and a little help keeping the school clean and tidy.

For anyone wanting to learn or improve their French this could be perfect for you. Teaching is a great way to learn and although you will be essentially teaching English you will have many occasions to speak and improve your French.

We are a small organic olive farm, not yet in production. We practice permaculture and the olives are part of a 'forest garden' which also includes 200 cork oaks, carob & other trees & shrubs. We also have a vegetable garden, fruit trees, dogs, cats, a house pig, donkeys, bees and worms!. Living in a Mediterranean climate we practice several different methods of water recycling & have a biological swimming pool. Help is required with all aspects of a compassionate, sustainable lifestyle.
Meals are vegan, wine is served with the evening meal and we are non smoking. Current projects are general forestry & garden management plus various indoor projects for bad weather.
Normally up to 4 helpers are here at a time, living as part of a family style community. We ask a minimum commitment of 4 weeks, with longer stays very much preferred. People usually book a few weeks ahead, but we sometimes have last minutes vacancies.

We are looking for experienced bar staff for several weddings throughout the Summer. We are trying to become self sufficient with heating from wood from our forest instead of using oil. We need help getting logs that have already been cut from our forest into our log barn.
We also need some help painting our gates and shutters.

We can offer very comfortable accommodation as we have just finished renovating the manoir. We love to cook wholesome food and enjoy local wines. We are close to many famous chateaux of the Loire and many reputed vignerons.
We are 15 minutes away from the famous Loire Valley chateau of Valencay.
