Description
I live in a small detached cottage in Glomel situated in the Côtes-d'Armor department of Brittany in northwestern France. Surrounded by woodlands, with a large lake, the Curong Dam and within easy walking distance of the Nantes-Brest canal there is plenty of opportunity for walking, hiking, cycling and fishing. Not far from Rostrenen with its weekly market every Tuesday and Carhaix Plouger if you fancy a trip to shop in a larger town the area has plenty to offer in the day time. There isn't a nightlife to speak of so be prepared for evenings spent at home.

I took early retirement last year and came to Brittany to explore and learn the language most of the major work on the house is done but it's in need of decorating and as I have no DIY skills I'm really looking for someone to share the basic stuff like painting, wallpapering and generally making the place feel homely, I have a garden which has been cleared but I need some help here as well with levelling it out a... more inside

We are an English family of 4, Annie and Christopher and children, Luke 21 (at Uni) and Amy 16. We have lived in France for nearly 9 years. Our home is our business. We live on an old farm which is no longer active, but we have so far converted some of the outbuildings into gites (3) and we operate a chambres d'hotes. We also both teach english as a foreign language so this doesn't leave us much time for managing the land.

So there is always plenty to do: fencing, logging, building stone walls, renovation, painting (outdoor and indoor), gardening (we are keen to restart our vegetable garden), gite changeovers and laundry, helping with the animals (one cat, one dog, about 10 chickens and 2 goats.

There is a challenge for anyone who is interested in landscaping as we have yet to turn the rear garden from a field to an interesting space includingsome decking, and also have plans for a small duck pond.

Our home is only 1.5k from amazing wide sandy beaches, which are a have... more inside

This is a mountain refuge (40 beds), 600 metres altitude, in the heart of the French Pyrenees. Our main activity is ecotourism, school trips and summer camps to discover the mountain environment. The building has just been refurbished but we need help to improve all the outside area. We just started to practice permaculture, we have a vegetable garden and a chicken house. We are also planning on using our field to grow more food. We tend to work with local people so a good grasp of the French language would be appreciated.

We welcome you to stay with us and work between 4 and 6 hours per day, so you can still enjoy the sights. We provide accommodation in bedrooms (4 beds max) and ensuite bathroom. We provide food, however you might have to cook your own meal.
Any help with food growing and wood and building work would be appreciated!

The village of Thebe is very small but if you walk about 30 minutes you will find another nice village with a bar, pizzeria, food shop, bakery,... more inside
