We are an English family who run a smallholding and are in the middle of a building renovation project.
There is a sizeable vegetable garden and orchard, and wild flower meadow where trees have also been planted. There are also flower beds to maintain. All of which is managed organically and sensitively.
Indoors there is light building work to do varying from skilled to unskilled, according to ability.
We love meeting new people and sharing this experience with those interested, and like our work to be fun and enjoyable. It is situated in a lovely peaceful village with many walks and bike rides, and is 7km from the small market town of Villaines-la-Juhel.

Small Normandy farm with brick & colombage (half-timber) buildings c1650s - 1850s. All being gently restored in a spirit of sustainability.
e.g. we have and we are building our own 3.7 metre diameter domestic wind turbines, have a recyclable grey water system, and PV solar panels.
We are looking for enthusiastic helpers for our restoration project. You can either come to learn a skill in exchange for your labour, or come and practice your already acquired skills. Areas of interest: general building, electrical, plumbing, joinery, brickwork, gardening (large scale!), hedging / treework, welding / metal work. All of these are available whether you have the skills or not. We would prefer volunteers who are willing to do full days, then days off, on a rota basis.

We are looking for helpers who have experience in baby-sitting. It would also be good if you possess some cleaning and cooking skills, since you will be welcomed to help us with cleaning and cooking. Cleaning and cooking is optional, only if you want to, overall the house is very clean all the time, we are only 2 adults, so cooking is not going to be much of a trouble.

We are a young couple with a baby and we also run our own business online. Our young boy requires a lot of attention and that's the reason why we are looking for a bit of help.

We live in the center of Avranches, and although it's not a big town, you can enjoy everything from walking distance. Also, tourist attractions are easily accessible from where we are located.

We will provide free accommodation to helpers as we have a spare room. We speak English and French at home so you can use us as an opportunity to practice any of those two languages

We have a cottage in rural Normandy, Dept 61, which we are in the process of renovating. We have a project of plasterboarding and plastering two rooms, ceilings and walls, that we would like completed. There is also a small flat pack kitchen to be installed. This would suit a couple / friends / group who have good practical skills and experience. Materials and tools would be supplied.
In exchange, we are offering free sole use of the cottage for 3 weeks whilst the work was in progress. The date of availability is flexible. This is time for the project to be completed and still allow plenty of free time to enjoy the cultural delights of this lovely area. We are between medieval and spa towns and 50 miles north of Le Mans. The cottage has a sofa bed and camp beds, cooking facilities, a renovated bathroom and two bicycles.
If interested, we do have another project of plasterboarding and plastering the attic.
All negotiable.

Hello, we are two dutch girls that have a chambres d'htes in Lison, Normandy.
Recently we have bought a house with spare buildings and 2,5 hectares of land, which we want to make in a place for horses and gites to rent out to people. At the moment we are working on the main house, to turn it into a gite. Most of the constructional work is done, but there is still a lot of work plastering, painting, adn finishing the gite. Also there is a lot of work to be done to the roofs and structure of the other buildings, clearing the land and fencing.
If you are a practical worker and interested to come and help us, we can provide a place to stay (in the gite or the chambres d'htes)and 3 meals a day.
If you are interested please send us an email or contact us through our website
Thanks, Claire and Marie-Louise

We are a French/English dairy-farming family, based near Caen in Normandy who are looking for self-motivated, willing and friendly helpers (any experience from painting, building, gardening, renovating, animal care!) to become new friends and help with various projects around our farm.

We are looking for help immediately with painting, cleaning and gardening and or/ help around the farm, which will depend on your experience ( will vary from tractor driving and field work (only for experienced helpers), milking, mucking out, help in our creamery where we produce milk and cream, looking after calves, general cleaning).

General helpers, painters and gardeners: we always need help around the place. Work is varied and may be physical (chopping wood, lifting, mucking out, weeding etc), so you'll need to be able to cope with such tasks.

We ask that you put in about 6 hours a day, with Sundays your own.......(Saturday is a busy day here too, as farm life never stops, plus we run ... more inside

Our 18th Century farmhouse and 10 acre pasture are on the edge of Marais National Park, roughly halfway between Cherbourg and Caen, with the historic towns of Carentan, St Lô and Bayeux 9, 26 and 30km away. There are many other places of interest within easy reach, including the D-Day beaches.

We have an acre of garden and four ponds, home to three very entertaining ducks, Jasper, Itchy and Scratchy. The pasture is grazed by our good neighbour's cattle; hedges left rough for the benefit of wildlife. We love birds and have just about every species flitting about the place.

Lena is a great cook; traditional English, French, Indonesian, Malaysian and Indian meals, fruit, cheese, local farm cider and vin d'pays. Gardening is Lena's passion, so that's where most of the work is done.

We welcome a man, a woman or a couple to help with whatever's going on around the house and garden; five hours a day, five days a week. Living as family means helping with meals, and normal house ch... more inside

Philippa and ELizabeth would be delighted to welcome you to help us with our lovely home, La Belle Etoile. We have 2 westies but apart from that we have no other animals, so the work involved would be upkeep of the land and property. Our house and garden are in good condition. We are situated in western Normandy within easy reach of Jersey, Le Mont St Michel and the D Day beaches. We have wifi and wired internet in parts of the house available for everyone to use. We would be looking for people who can work without supervision, with skills for gardening and tree maintenance, painting and decorating and small repair jobs and occasional woodwork. We have a virtual visit tour of the outside of our property, see our second website link above.
