We look after a rare breed of sheep (90 ewes of the race Guirra) which we sell for lamb and reproduction, so we often need help looking after the sheep, lambing and hay-making. We do a big garden and have lots of fruit trees, many grafted onto wild rootstocks, chestnut forest. We have both studied permaculture and do the occasional edible landscape design. Accomodation in caravan(summer) or small apartment (dormitory),an excellent designed fully functioning compost toilet.
The Hamlet is situated in a beautiful area of the Corbieres mountains near a small thermal resort. There is a very popular hot spring in the river bed where people shower under the mineral water. January / February is lambing time. We could do with a hand during May to empty the barn and prepare for hay making. Then all of June until 21 July with hay making, mostly loading small(light) bales. This would 3 -5 hours a day depending on weather etc. We offer three meals a day. We eat a lot of our own food and buy in... more inside

We are a french family with 4 children 7, 15, 17 and 19 years old. The oldest isn't often at home.

We've got many animals: Horses(3 and a poney), lamas(4), a goat, sheep, pigeons, chickens, cats, bees, turtles and large Salamander's keeping facilities. We also keep bees and make honey.
There's a big organic vegetable garden. People who enjoy working in the garden and have some knowledges are very welcome.
We renovate with natural material our XVth century house when Arnaud can find some time. It's not the principal job here, and it's nearly finished now.

The house is in the open country, very close to a 1000 hectares oak forest, with plenty of footpaths. If you like to ride bicycle, you can have nice trips in the forest and you can visit the villages close to here.

Your room will be in the small house (photos 2 and 3), the bathroom is in the principal house. In winter time, you can have a room in the main house.

We need help especially for feeding animals, cooking, ga... more inside

Anita and I are looking for a handyman in short notice for about a week or two. Furthermore for another volunteer in the period from December 18th to January 12th. Me, Alexander, partly from Russian origin)and my wife Anita are a Dutch couple (60 and 56). In July 2009 we took over a small hotel-restaurant in the Auvergne in France at the crossroads of two hiker trails GR 4 and 30. We decorated the hotel in a classical warm atmosphere and then added to the existing rambler rooms for backpackers a number of more regular hotel rooms with ensuite bathrooms. Today the hotel has 20 rooms altogether. It lies in the beautiful surroundings of the Parc des Volcans in the Auvergne with an exquisite landscape to be discovered as a hiker or on a mountain bike. Since we are also quite near to the ski station in Super Besse, we accommodate many ski-lovers in winterseason. On our premises you will find a large garden with terrace and a parking. Anita is a good cook, (she is a vegetarian herself) an... more inside

Hallo,
my husband and i live in "les Vosges" a beautiful department in France. Our little farm is situated in a beautiful country side. It is a rather isolated place in a dead-end street. The distance to our village is about 2,5 kilometers. For us a perfect place to offer our animals a lot of freedom without being scared of them being hit by a car.

Lots of things to do in spare time, for example hiking, biking, horsebackriding and paragliding. There are a lot of lakes in this area so swimming etc. is possible to. Or simply sightseeing and enjoying the beautiful countryside. To enjoy all these possibilities it's recommended to have your own transportation.

We have about 34 animals. Dogs, cats, Icelandic horses, goats and sheep and even a donkey. Plenty to do if you would like to stay with us.
For us these animals are not just animals but dearly loved pets. Most of them are adopted and rescued animals. It is our goal to give them a chance to a second and a better life. We ... more inside

Who we are

We're a young at heart couple of English early retirees who have converted a barn to a house, which we'd like some help a to finish, renovating what will become a gite and taking control of the garden, which is a bit of a jungle at the moment. Never having had a garden in England, we're on a steep learning curve with our plot of 5000 square metres (just over an acre).
We're both keen cyclists, Nick especially loves doing cols in the Pyrenees and he keeps bonsai trees. Jackie enjoys sewing, patchwork and most things crafty, and is an aspiring textile artist, teaches English and basic French and plays guitar, though not brilliantly. We're members of the local cycling and walking clubs and active members of the local community.

Where we are

We live in the Gers, in south west France, surrounded by vineyards and 4km from a small town whose proudest boast is its motor racing circuit.

The help we need and what we'll provide in exchange

We would expect 4-5 hours ... more inside

We are american, from San Francisco and New Orleans, living in France for over 10 years. We have an old farm property in the Loire Valley, 10 minutes from Chinon, with a main house and two renovated barns. The larger barn is a vacation rental, and the smaller barn is mixed use, rental or friends, workers, etc. We need help with some small projects, with landscaping, and in the vegetable garden. We have a large veggie garden, many fruit and nut trees as well.

Before the season starts in April there is much work to be done cleaning up, tending to the garden, etc. Same at the end of the season. In mid-summer, there's weeding and landscaping to keep up with.

We NEED help in marketing our vacation rental, since the sites we have used for years have switched their format to compete with AirBnb. We need help with marketing on social media, which we have never done.

We can help with your english language skills if you are looking to improve, and we speak French.

We e... more inside

Hi, we are Jonathan (French, 34, musician) and Anna (Czech, 27, ethnologist and tapestry maker), renovating an old stones house. There is also a small organic garden, and our sleeping cat.
Help will be warmly welcomed for renovating the house and embellish the garden.

We use to ask 5h30 of help of work each day, 5 days per week (..Don't worry, we use to work relaxed, listening to our own rythms.. We prefer a beautiful work that feels good, than a quick work with an absent mind :).
The time of cooking is not counted as time of work. We all cook together and/or share the usual household tasks.

French, English, Spanish, Czech, Vegetarian spoken ;) [that means that we are vegetarians and provide vegetarian's food -and yes...it's made with love]

Salut tout le monde ! Jonathan (français, 34ans, musicien bâtisseur en quête de sens), Anna (tchèque, 27ans, animatrice, ethnologue & tapissière d’ameublement) et Princesse Léia (féli... more inside

We are a mixed family of North American / French and are updating a house and garden in the beautiful town of Osséja, France in the Pyrenees.

We are easygoing, humourous, kind-hearted and like meeting new people. We are looking for help to create our first walipini greenhouse for an organic vegetable garden, install a rainwater water tank, make a chicken coop, paint the outside of the house, decorate a child's bedroom with a soccer theme, build a wine cellar in the basement and why not build a fort, sandbox or outdoors shower LOL etc.

We have a few business websites and can always use help with graphic design, writing blogs, improving content etc. We have a sporty child so soccer/rugby/basketball/ski/trampoline enthusiasts are appreciated!

We are happy to host people as of Nov 2017 and onward.

We welcome kind-hearted, hard working and responsible guests that like a warm family environment. We value family, friendships, education, multiculturalism, protecting the enviro... more inside
