This is a mountain refuge (40 beds), 600 metres altitude, in the heart of the French Pyrenees. Our main activity is ecotourism, school trips and summer camps to discover the mountain environment. The building has just been refurbished but we need help to improve all the outside area. We just started to practice permaculture, we have a vegetable garden and a chicken house. We are also planning on using our field to grow more food. We tend to work with local people so a good grasp of the French language would be appreciated.

We welcome you to stay with us and work between 4 and 6 hours per day, so you can still enjoy the sights. We provide accommodation in bedrooms (4 beds max) and ensuite bathroom. We provide food, however you might have to cook your own meal.
Any help with food growing and wood and building work would be appreciated!

The village of Thebe is very small but if you walk about 30 minutes you will find another nice village with a bar, pizzeria, food shop, bakery,... more inside

We are Tony and Heather, an active retired couple who live in a 5 bedroomed Longere in 5 acres of land (not a farm), part woodland with a stream; pasture, orchard and garden, in rural surrounds, area 56, Brittany. The hamlet is called Tellene; it has a bar/restaurant and access to good walking and riding country. Tellene is situated 15 mins from Baud and 30 mins from Josselyn. There is no public transport from the hamlet. We are non-smokers and have no language skills other than English.

The help we require is General Maintenance with the land, wood, garden and house. The most of the maintenance in the house has been completed so house is not a building site. The next project is to build a barn to house tractor, hay and straw. So we would require somebody with DIY skills who has woodworking knowledge; also who could help with fencing, gardening and woodland maintenance. It would be great if you also had an A level in poo picking!!!
We would consider a couple or single person ... more inside

We speak English French and Spanish fluently. (English spoken in family life.) We have a large old farmhouse with many out buildings that have recently been renovated. During the summer we are very busy with our Bed and Breakfast and Gites. We have 5 rooms and 2 gites. There is plenty of work here all the time for an energtic woman, housework, making beds, cooking, etc and also DIY, painting, etc......or just helping on the land with the gardening, making-hay, pruning etc... We have three old horses and a characterful little dog, a terrier mixture. If you like riding it would be great as the horses do need exercising, they are very sweet and easy to ride. We love having people here. We offer a big room with bathroom, food, internet access and the use of a bicycle if you need it. We are close to the famous site of Mont St Michel and the mariner town of St Malo.

We are currently renovating a Breton Longere in the heart of the Breton countryside.
The renovation and family life means that so far we have been unable to tackle a piece of land adjacent to our property which is now overgrown and needs to be taken in hand.
We are offering one/two bedrooms with shower room accessed via a seperate staircase to the main upstairs space and meals in exchange for 4 hours work per day clearing the land & odd jobbing such as chopping wood..
We would also welcome anyone with dry stone walling experience as we have a wall in place which is in a state of disrepair and needs rebuilding.
