Hello, we are two dutch girls that have a chambres d'htes in Lison, Normandy.
Recently we have bought a house with spare buildings and 2,5 hectares of land, which we want to make in a place for horses and gites to rent out to people. At the moment we are working on the main house, to turn it into a gite. Most of the constructional work is done, but there is still a lot of work plastering, painting, adn finishing the gite. Also there is a lot of work to be done to the roofs and structure of the other buildings, clearing the land and fencing.
If you are a practical worker and interested to come and help us, we can provide a place to stay (in the gite or the chambres d'htes)and 3 meals a day.
If you are interested please send us an email or contact us through our website
Thanks, Claire and Marie-Louise

We are a French/English dairy-farming family, based near Caen in Normandy who are looking for self-motivated, willing and friendly helpers (any experience from painting, building, gardening, renovating, animal care!) to become new friends and help with various projects around our farm.

We are looking for help immediately with painting, cleaning and gardening and or/ help around the farm, which will depend on your experience ( will vary from tractor driving and field work (only for experienced helpers), milking, mucking out, help in our creamery where we produce milk and cream, looking after calves, general cleaning).

General helpers, painters and gardeners: we always need help around the place. Work is varied and may be physical (chopping wood, lifting, mucking out, weeding etc), so you'll need to be able to cope with such tasks.

We ask that you put in about 6 hours a day, with Sundays your own.......(Saturday is a busy day here too, as farm life never stops, plus we run ... more inside

Our 18th Century farmhouse and 10 acre pasture are on the edge of Marais National Park, roughly halfway between Cherbourg and Caen, with the historic towns of Carentan, St Lô and Bayeux 9, 26 and 30km away. There are many other places of interest within easy reach, including the D-Day beaches.

We have an acre of garden and four ponds, home to three very entertaining ducks, Jasper, Itchy and Scratchy. The pasture is grazed by our good neighbour's cattle; hedges left rough for the benefit of wildlife. We love birds and have just about every species flitting about the place.

Lena is a great cook; traditional English, French, Indonesian, Malaysian and Indian meals, fruit, cheese, local farm cider and vin d'pays. Gardening is Lena's passion, so that's where most of the work is done.

We welcome a man, a woman or a couple to help with whatever's going on around the house and garden; five hours a day, five days a week. Living as family means helping with meals, and normal house ch... more inside

Philippa and ELizabeth would be delighted to welcome you to help us with our lovely home, La Belle Etoile. We have 2 westies but apart from that we have no other animals, so the work involved would be upkeep of the land and property. Our house and garden are in good condition. We are situated in western Normandy within easy reach of Jersey, Le Mont St Michel and the D Day beaches. We have wifi and wired internet in parts of the house available for everyone to use. We would be looking for people who can work without supervision, with skills for gardening and tree maintenance, painting and decorating and small repair jobs and occasional woodwork. We have a virtual visit tour of the outside of our property, see our second website link above.

Beautiful chateau guest house specialising in all inclusive family holidays and weddings.
Set in idyllic country location. Near all the major tourist sights - Mont St Michel, Bayeux tapestry, D Day beaches.

I have all the helpers I need for 2011, but there is a pattern to the year if you want to be considered for 2012

During spring (March and April) I tend to look for a band of helpers to get the house and grounds ready for the season. Lots of spring cleaning, painting and gardening (light and heavy work, building works, concreting etc. Happy to take up to six helpers during this period and varied skills are welcome. Builders of all types are particularly welcome in March and April.

During May and June I am after couples (can be two friends travelling together) to help with day to day running of the guest house. Happy to take people for one or two weeks during this period.

From the beginning of July I am after a couple to stay eight weeks. Would be a great help if a... more inside

Travelling in FRANCE? Enjoy outdoor work, have some gardening experience or willing to learn? A positive attitude is most important, i.e. responsive, appreciative and polite. We are an English-French speaking couple, who are restoring and renovating an ancient farm and gardens in rural Normandy. Two outbuildings have been converted into gites (or nearly!) where we offer holistic courses. We also have enjoyed concerts and theatre activities on site and hope to offer more once the accommodation is completed! Landscaping and gardening is where we need the most help, as we have a large property, and in the process of developing the flower and vegetable gardens. We are looking for versatile, mature, and/or young people, singles or couples who are flexible and resourceful. If you hardworking, tidy, enjoy a good sense of humour and are interested in working alongside us in the garden, assisting with some lifting and clearing in storage areas, varnishing or painting and light househo... more inside
