We have a -
Brewery
Bar and Hostel
Farm
Five acres of garden including a kitchen garden and polytunnels
Garden design

A little more about what we do….

Brewery
The brewery was started in 1998. It was and still is the only organic brewery in Scotland.
Twelve people work full time in the brewery.
We make a range of beers sold in cask, keg and bottle. We sell the beer in the UK and abroad, in Spain, France, Sweden, Italy, Japan and the US.
The brewery has a shop. The farm buildings are used for events, most particularly our own festival Jocktoberfest.

Black Isle Bar and Hostel
Opened 2016. Lots of upcycling from the farm :
- tables made from barn doors
- bar top made from a huge fallen cypress
- pallets as blackboards
- milk paint made from one or our cows!
and… and....
much of the food served comes from the farm and around 85% or what is eaten and drunk at the b... more inside

I am looking for someone to help in the house . So someone practical. In return- a lovely place to stay and all your food and board free.
The date I would like a helper for is Tuesday 12th December for 7 days.
I've been having some renovations done and it's basically
all the cleaning stuff that I am needing help with. I would expect 4 hours a day, or 3 days helping and 4 days off.
The helper will have a room above the kitchen, up a step ladder and own bathroom.
Its a very picturesque, quiet Highland coastal village. 300 people. There are 2 hotels and a restuarant. The pub across the road that has traditional music sessions. I am helpful with English learning.

IMMEDIATE START!

We are a family of four live in a large house with gorgeous garden, loch and small farm and we are looking to diversify and set up a business at home. We are looking for someone or a couple to work alongside us from September onwards, ideally for a couple of months but less time also an option!

We have a never ending lists of jobs to do such as helping in the garden, weeding the loch, logs to prepare for the Winter, painting a fishing hut, copious washing and hosting friends amd families staying over the summer. Our two daughters are great little helpers too! Grandad lives in a flat attached to the house and Granny lives in a house by the loch.

We are trying to establish appropriate new business ventures for our small holding and have a few projects underway. We would like 1 or 2 people, or a couple, to come and experience life at The Lagg. Last summer we hosted a couple from Pamplona who were a huge success and we helped them improve their English enou... more inside

I am looking for a mature female with a fun loving personality with loads of enthusiasm, humour, initiative and pro-active attitude to help me with house keeping and looking after my two energetic noisy but beautiful young boys. We live in the middle of the Highlands of Scotland so love getting outside to run off energy. I have a very large garden with loads of organic gardening potential which requires attention and getting up and running as well. The soils are excellent and there is a big greenhouse.

No Vacancies

We live on a Croft on the Isle of Barra, Outer Hebrides.

Barra is a great community and you will be made to feel most welcome. You will be staying in the house.

Barra is a wonderful place to live with great beaches, sea kayaking, surfing, walking, kiting and a host of wildlife. Great for photographers and painters. There is plenty to do on the island throughout the year. I love swimming in the sea so if you would like to join in then bring a wetsuit or not if you are brave!!!.

As a family, we run a bustling wee ‘micro-hostel’ from our home and garden in the heart of Ullapool village. The property is pretty big (about 1000 square meters) and very versatile in what it allows us to do here. We’ve had a lot of success renting interesting/alternative spaces online for the past two years, and are looking forward to re-opening in 2018 with brand new quirky, luxury bell tents alongside our lovely wooden glamping pod.

Our organic garden has raised vegetable beds, flower beds, fruit trees, honey bee hives, chickens, guinea pigs, extremely friendly cats and a very welcoming lurcher dog called Polly.
Music, song and circus skills are always handy things to bring, but some of our most successful hosting experiences have been with helpers with aptitudes like climbing (we have a fantastic new wall in the village,) reiki massage, yoga teaching and photography. (Did we mention music? :) We are keen for folk that can come and teach the kids guitar and/or inspire them... more inside

We have recently moved into a unique property that was once the vegetable garden for Rosneath Castle (now demolished). The garden has been totally redesigned and comprises 1.5 acres of formal garden, a half acre of organic vegetable garden and five acres of woodland. We would love some enthusiastic folks with a real can do approach to come and help us with all sorts of things from organic gardening, wood cutting some inside refurbishment work and general maintenance. We are a couple in our fifties working full time ...heading towards retirement when we can spend most of our time outdoors.
In the meantime, we would love you to come and help us and in return we will provide ensuite accommodation and all meals. We would love you to work the equivalent of 28 per week but you are free to put in the hours as suits you...all upfront or 4 hours per day...we are very flexible about that.
