The setting is the heart of the welsh countryside. I have a small home and garden in a typical Welsh micro-village. The garden is given over to vegetable/fruit production using permaculture/ organic techniques.
Having gained considerable horticultural experience I am seeking to expand into new lands over the next year, or so, and so would appreciate help with the following, especially if people wish to stay for a month, or so.

I offer, Full Board in exchange for four hours work a day giving help sorting house and garden:-

1) Organising (small) polytunnel and garden, which is well cultivated, but needs preparing for the new season.

2) I have two households-worth of furniture in the house and am unable to move it without help, sorting this would take about ten days.

3) Furniture also needs moving around so that flooring can be put down and curtains put on rails; this would be work for another ten days, or so.

Would prefer two to share double room. I would welcome ... more inside

We are a small homestead only a couple of years into this project, consisting of vegetable gardens, some larger-scale vegetable cultivation, and small orchards, with some small livestock (poultry, pigs). We also run a microbrewery on-site. We're in a remote part of west Wales in the rugged Preseli mountains, near the sea. Things we could use help with: farm-type work (cultivation, ground clearance, vegetable growing, animal husbandry, brush clearing, haymaking, chopping wood, fencing, etc), house work/renovation (it's an old stone house and needs all kinds of work including electrical, plumbing, plastering, rendering, painting inside and exterior, and so on!). We're also interested in building small outbuildings, such as compost toilet, sheds, roundhouse, greenhouse. Lots of seasonal jobs, lots of things that can be done at any time of year. We have two small children and could possibly be open to hosting someone to stay with a (not terribly small) child - please get in touch to dis... more inside

This is an opportunity to experience working in a woodland and utilising hand tools for both woodworking and woodland management. We are based in the Preseli Hills, the woodland covers 35 hectares with a mix of native ( Ash, Oak, Hazel) and non native species (Larch, Douglas Fir). It contains many interesting features including a stream for bathing on hot afternoons.

The current project involves construction of a timber framed barn - techniques include roundwood timber framing as well as working with sawn timber sourced from on site.
Other day to day tasks include chopping firewood, gardening and woodland management.

We are a family of five with three children aged 3 Ė 10 years old and a dog, we enjoy music and occasionally host 'jam nights' when local folk come over with their instruments and we play around the fire. The local village is 3km away with a few small shops and a pub. The stunning coast is about half an hour drive away. We have basic accommodation in a ca... more inside

URGENT vacancy for clearance work. Some logging, general tidying up of land and pond clearance.

Turned lots of people way due to being full then just been let down.

Beautiful surroundings in the foothills of Snowdonia in an area called Hiraethog (The hills of great longing). We're remote though and the work can be hard at times.
We offer guest accommodation at our farm. The land is used to grow food for the house and volunteers eat the same food as the guests, which is of exceptional quality. We keep horses, a few Welsh black cattle, Black Welsh mountain sheep,Saddleback pigs, geese, chickens,an owl, a buzzard, tortoises, several dogs and cats plus whatever else I've forgotten. Accommodation out of peak season is sometimes very high standard rooms in the house as used for guests unless taken then as per peak season. In the peak season (May-September) volunteers have more basic facilities of a bedroom in a coverted stone outbuilding with shower and toilet facilities in the ma... more inside

We have a large 5 bedroom house which is in need off its 5 yearly makeover. Sadly we have got to that stage in life when we could do with some help with building repairs, painting inside and out, gardening, window cleaning and general cleaning for a period of 2 to 3 weeks. Our priority is to repair or replace a conservatory which is on the first floor (one up off the ground)so one person, ideally should have general building skills.
The accommodation is in an en-suit room with its own sitting room suitable for a couple or two friends as there is a bed in the separate sitting room.We are a two min walk from the train station. In one direction you can go to the beach, the scenery on the journey is breathtaking. In the other direction is the Medieval town of Shrewsbury and beyond the Cities of Manchester and Birmingham and of course London, this can be visited in a day.We live in a beautiful part of the country but we are very accessible to lost of interesting Places. We are a beef and sheep hill farm in North Wales looking for one or two people to help with lambing for about four weeks starting at the beginning of March. There is a house available to stay in and we will provide food as well.

Experience would be helpful. Hours will not be ridgid but may involve night time working.

We run an organic smallholding in a beautiful valley just a mile from the sea near to a lovely stretch of the Coastal Path. On our land we have a small flock of hens, an orchard, a large polytunnel full of fruit and vegetables, Kune Kune pigs to help keep grass under control, a large vegetable, fruit and flower garden with ponds, solar PV, a well, lots of trees, lots of wildlife including badgers and sometimes sheep and calves. Keen on environmental issues and eat a mainly vegetarian organic wholefood diet. We work part-time and need help at certain times of year.

My home, Ty Cae Rydar, is a farmhouse set in rolling farmlands of the Usk valley in South East Wales. It was built as a barn in the 1800ís and was converted to a farmhouse in the 1880ís. It is surrounded by 2 acres of land, filled with trees and shrubs. Iíve had it for 20 years and I need some help with maintenance and upkeep since Iím now working away from home.

Important : There is no close public transport, so a helper would need either to have his/her own transport, or to be happy to be about an hourís walk from the nearest shop for 5 days at a time. Iím usually there at the weekends, but I work away during the week, so a helper would be on their own Monday to Friday. The house is not isolated, as there are 5-6 neighbours within a half-mile.

Also, at the moment, there's no internet connection, only a landline !!

The nearest village is Raglan (as in Lord Raglan and the Charge of the Light Brigade) and the nearest town is Monmouth (as in Monmouth Harry), a charming marke... more inside
