We are a family of four (parents and boys of 10 and 7) living in a tiny hamlet in the south-west of the Dordogne. We live a large, comfortable and very cosy 200-year old renovated farmhouse with sizeable garden, including organic vegetable patch, and a swimming pool.

We are vegetarians and non-smokers and eat organic whenever possible and economical. We speak English and, to a lesser degree, French and some of us speak Dutch, German, and Danish. Music plays a central role in our household.

We are looking for 1-2 helpers who can, during April, May and/or June 2014, to give us a hand with general maintenance and repair work in our house and garden.

When you're not busy in the house or garden you can explore the local area, which is prime tourist country with picturesque villages and chateaux, while the hilly and windy country lanes are fantastic for cycling. See for example fr.eymetperigord.com/eymet.php

We also live very close to Plum Village, the Buddhist monaster... more inside

This is a privately owned chateau with medieval origins just south of the Dordogne river within 600 hectares of rolling forested hills.
Our principal activities are high end weddings and holiday rentals for an international clientele. We have an interesting and diverse range of help requirements depending on the season
Current projects include the creation of a glamping site in a ruined village in the chateau grounds before spring 2014, dry stone walling and gardening, helping to look after 8 horses and three dogs.
Tasks for the spring and summer season in 2014 include helping to run the glamping site during wedding weekends, gardening (both ornamental and potager), cropping and making preserves etc from the potager, assisting with wedding decor.
We are a small friendly French-english team, the de Commarque family owners for the past 600 years, live on site. We welcome interesting and interested people.

We are looking for some handy people to help us finish our barn conversion. We are now so busy with our new business that we just haven't the time. Nor the money if the truth be known - you know what it's like when you are trying to start something new...We are handy ourselves so can give advice and help where needed. So it will be plasterboarding our last bedroom, running the wires for the electrics. perhaps fitting the shower and loo etc for the en suite... anything that will help..
We have a separate little house for you to stay in and we live in a really lovely village and area so we hope you will enjoy exploring the region too.

We are a family who has bought a 4 hectare piece of land, with a pond and small creek, close by saint emilion in the vineyard area. Our land is mostly forest and prairie. We are constructing a workshop (Greg is an professional carpenter, metal worker, and artist) We will also be remodelling an old stone house. We have started organic gardening and have 1 3 year old son, 2 sheep, and a kitten.
We need help constructing, we are constructing the 140 meter workshop out of wood and when finished will be constructing the house, based on the main already existent stone and brick building.
We have a small private caravan for guests with space for two people or one clean room in the house under construction.
We are not vegetarians but eat very little meat. We enjoy good wine, being that we are in the right area! There is also a lake near by where we go often, and being that we perform with street theater and physical theater, we often go see show or to festivals. We would need someone t... more inside

We have been living on a small (17.5 hectare) 50 ewe sheep farm deep in the Armagnac countryside since 1977. We ceased to be officially 'Bio' 5 years ago, owing to rising EEC costs of being so, but we still are unofficially, very much so.
I am British, 62, a professional writer and translator as well as a small farmer, and my wife of 37 years, Deborah, is a cooking writer and superb gardener from Texas. We live here all the year round and have done since the beginning. Our children, both born in France, are now married and reside in the USA. We're beginning to need a bit of muscular help with farm and garden. We would therefore like to exchange room and board for occasionally strenuous work. Ideally we are looking for people with a country background, for up to a month at a time; the help would involve labour in our large vegetable and flower gardens, and general odd jobs like roof repair, fencing, clearing and woodcutting with me around the farm. Someone able to drive a small trac... more inside

This is an old mid 1700 French farmhouse in the earlyish stages of conversion . While habitable ( currently 2 usable bedrooms and two bathrooms, plus kitchen and lounge) with solar heating woodburner and underfloor geothermic heating in 2/3rds of the ground floor, plus re-newed electricity and water supplies, there is Shedloads of work still to be done , both inside and out. This is definitely a "work in progress " house, livable but not finished!

As the cooler weather approaches , there is a need for help with plastering, interior wall building and electrics , so anyone looking for warm accommodation in return for help with these skills, would be most welcome !! Although there are many sunny warm days left to try and finish building the log store!!
Most of the electrics are now done , although building a new pool and starting soon on an outdoor kitchen so more stone work and electrics will soon be needed . Garden ( a small part )under control , but the rest of the land is a ju... more inside
