We are a family with 4 school age children living in one of Wellington's loveliest suburbs, Seatoun, very close to the beach. We have a very busy household and both parents will be working full time in May/ June (and possibly into July). We need someone to pick the kids up from school, look after them in the afternoons, cook dinner and keep the house tidy. They must be able to drive well. We would like our helper to have lots of energy and initiative and a good sense of humour.

---------- Room available from the 3rd to the 17th of January ----------

Hello, we have a free room available from the 3rd to the 17th of January 2014. We prefer one person who can be independant (we will be busy during the day but happy to share some time the evening and the weekend)

We are a relaxed and friendly Australian/French couple who like to meet people from everywhere. Joshua has lived in New Zealand for 9 years and Stephanie first came in New Zealand on a Working Holliday Visa for one year travelling, woofing etc. and decided to stay. We are both working as programmers.

We are moving house and need some help to get ready (cleaning, packing etc.). We ask 2 hours 30 per day for free accomodation including wireless internet (no food, but you are welcome to use our kitchen, and if you like we can even cook together vegetarian meals). We are quite flexible about the timing, you can probably work when you like.

We live in a beautiful flat a short walk (10min) from t... more inside

Hi - I will be busy and unable to host until March 2014, but happy travels to you during our summer!

It is always hard to keep a large garden organised ... and I work hard too! I've had a lovely time with help-xers so far, with short term and longer term visitors.

I have a three bedroom 1960's house on 1/4 acre in Wainuiomata. Out of town, public transport links (50-60 mins to CBD, or 25-30 mins if you are driving off peak), quiet, rural environment with one small dog, one cat and a large garden running down the hill. Two spare bedrooms, one double, one single with linen, furniture.

I mainly need help with gardening, I have a lot of weeding, landscaping, and gardening to do to make my land feel happy, and working during the week it is hard to manage to get it all done!
Preparing meals and doing the housekeeping is also appreciated - and with warmer weather, if you have the skills to prepare and paint the outside and/or inside of the house, that would be fantastic!
You c... more inside

We are a younger couple, both working professionals ( one of us a musician! ). We are looking for someone who may know a thing or two about exterior painting of houses or someone who is willing to do general gardening tasks.
We would prefer someone with some experience of house painting.
We live about 10 minutes from downtown Wellington and have great bus services or free on street parking. We are happy to show some great spots around Wellington and know a lot about the Wellington region.
Someone hardworking, honest, with a splash of fun would be very welcome in our home!!

Hi Travellers, My name is Robyn and I operate a bed & breakfast at Peka Peka Beach one hour north of Wellington. We overlook the Tasman Sea and Kapiti Island which is one of New Zealand's most significant Nature Reserves located in a marine reserve. Southwards Car Museum 5 mins away is a renowned world class car museum filled with over 350 vehicles.

We are looking for a single or couple to help with gardening, and other general duties. We have bikes to ride and a wonderful beach to walk/run on right out in front. We have a fantastic guest room with own ensuite, flat screen TV and video. Its a piece of NZ paradise.

An independent Wellington South Coast film and creative studio undergoing renovations. Can offer accommodation/food/internet and some financial reward for laboring and building work. If you've got inventing, innovating, metalwork skills, that would be a bonus, but anyone with good practical hands would be considered. Successful applicants will have fun, learn heaps of skills, and be contributing to a good cause. A Cool scene. Close to beach.

We run a retreat/ lodge (sleeping up to 40 people) that provides accommodation for a number of different retreats, groups, camps and workshops. We are located 10 minutes out of Otaki township on the Kapiti Coast (and 1 hours drive from wellington). There are trains from wellington to the nearest station and we can pick you up from there.

We are currently developing organic/ permaculture gardens, compost toilets and upgrading the facilities. Help is needed for general gardening, maintenance, cleaning, building, and we are also open to people coming and putting their ideas into fruition. Building/ carpentry skills would be ideal!!! Good wholesome food, (and laughter) is abundant in our household and we welcome those interested in sharing in this.

Our property runs along the Otaki River with bushwalks, a waterfall and native birds everywhere. You will need to like dogs too as we have two that are very friendly. We are close to some of the most beautiful walks in the Tararua Ran... more inside

We live on the beautiful Kapiti Coast at Te Horo which has a wonderful beach just down the road. We live in a lovely rural area and have two very friendly dogs and a cat, so you must like animals. We also have a horse and some sheep. We grow our own veges and meat and we get lots of great feedback about the food! Accommodation for our helpers usually a comfortable caravan, although sometimes there is a room in the house. There is lots of gardening work at the moment, and possibly painting, for someone with a very neat hand. We are quite flexible about arrangements in terms of how the work schedule is organised - as long as what you do is a fair trade for sharing our home and space with you while you are here. We are also open to people working a few days and then touring the area for a few days, then coming back etc. We'd love to hear from you.
