Our home is tucked into the Toolangi forest. Surrounded in tall mountain ash eukalyptus trees. The property has a chicken coupe, vegetable gardens, wondering pathways with flowering beds as well as open grass areas. It is very relaxing here. In the house we have Kathleen, A 2 and a half year old, and Mat (renting a room). This is a family home, we eat mostly organic and local foods, including meat. And get water from a local spring and we have plenty of room for you. I'm needing some help with maintaining the gardens on the property, which includes: weeding, black berry maintinance, wood collecting, watering, planting, and wipper-snippering. We also have an elderly lady next door who I help if she needs.
I am always excited to show people our surrounding forests. We have many beauty full walks leading to rivers I will share with you, A local discovery centre I volunteer in which has information on the forest also. The local roads a quite the tourist attractions due to there beauty... more inside

This is a small horse property located in South West Victoria. We run a small riding school for people with disabilities (fb: All Abilities Equestrian). We work with young horses and have a vaulting team. We offer helpx opportunities to people who are experienced horse riders or have a vaulting background. I currently have two young horses under saddle that need to be ridden and given general life experiences. We also have three vaulting horses that need to be lunged and worked with every day (fb: Van Someren Equestrian Vaulting). We have a vegie garden and an orchard that need a bit of attention. Any help would really be appreciated. We are interested in hosting confident, self-driven people who want to be a part of a busy family life and love working with horses and people. We aim to show our visitors the local sites and tourist attractions. A good mix of work and pleasure is important to us.
From Melbourne you can take the train to Warrnambool and we will meet you at the train... more inside

Come help us turn our ramshackle garden into an organic, permaculture dream!!

We are Pete, Vicky, Morris (our dog). We're also expecting a baby soon! Vicky works full time at a not-for-profit organisation campaigning for a more progressive Australia (working on issues like climate change, refugees and social welfare). Pete is a newly trained-up social worker. Morris is an incredibly friendly white staffy who is universally loved by all he meets.

We live in a part of Melbourne, Australia called the Dandenong Ranges, an area with a bunch of forest national park.

We moved out here from the city recently and we are still getting our garden sorted! We have a block that's nearly an acre, with heaps of potential...But there is a tonne of clearing and other big landscaping to do before we can fulfil our dream of having a permaculture food forest, flower-lined paths, a massive veggie patch, a fernery and lots and lots of edible plants throughout the whole garden.

We hope you'l... more inside

We have purchased this wonderful property in a green rolling hills area, dairying all around us, and it is our challenge now to improve the property by planting indigenous trees and nurturing them, along with our many fruit trees and establish the shade/hot house. We are about to commence some out buildings for entertaining and we would love to have a couple of strong men, preferably with some rural experience to stay with us, enjoy our magnificent way of life, village at the end of the driveway, and while with us to explore the surrounding areas to Wilson's Prom and Phillip Island. We have 2 comfortable single beds in a separate private area and you will have your own kitchen area, or you can join us for your meals. Geoff loves to be working with some helpers.
If you think you are relaxed and friendly, prepared to put in some good work time, then there will be play and suggestions for more adventures in the area....please apply

We run a wholesale indigenous plant nursery set on a beautiful 50 acre bush block 10 min drive from the 90 mile beach. We are an easy going family, we have 2 young boys (3 and 1 years old - so, if you don't like kids, please do not apply) and three slightly crazy but friendly dogs living in a peaceful place with many native animals.
We have only one spare bedroom; it has a double bed, so ideal for couples or a single person stay. You also have your own bathroom and toilet.
We live in a comfortable house, where you'll have privacy and space, but you are welcome to join us in the living room whenever you like, to have meals, or socialise. We have lots of movies, video games, musical instruments and artistic endeavors to enjoy. Mobile reception is available.
Most of the work is generally nursery related - transplanting plants, sorting and general maintenance, but occasionally, some household duties too.
You'll be asked to work 4-5 hours a day in exchange for main meals and accom... more inside
