We are located in the Highlands on the coast road of the Applecross Peninsula near the small crofting township of Kenmore, in a peaceful, rural location.

Help please from April - October. See below the list of help we ask from our guests.

We run a seasonal, small Artisan smoking business, set within the grounds and to the rear of our house. Also in the grounds we have a small self catering cottage which is let on a weekly basis, mainly from March to October.

The help we request varies; from help with the cleaning and maintenance in the Smokehouse premises once a week, to help with maintenance of outbuildings and garden work, the latter being weather dependent, this might be one or two days a week, the garden is laid mostly to shrubs and grass and the area covers around 0.5 acres, some has to be strimmed, the flat areas mowed with the lawnmower. We both muck in and help with the tasks when not too busy with the preparation and sales of the smoked products.

We have a large 5 bedroom house about 18 miles from the centre of Glasgow and 30 miles from Edinburgh.

We are a happy couple in our 50's. I work from the house on the internet. My partner works in Glasgow and from home too. We now have two very energetic, playful young cats, Mylo and Phoebe.

In Spring 2017 we will need help to tidy up and plant the garden area around the house (light gardening). General Pruning, weeding (never ending) and replanting. Pressure washing the driveway and the decking.

The house is in good order and well kept but we have some internal DIY we just don't get round to - painting, replacing tiles in the kitchen. Some light carpentry. I always like help with general housework, window cleaning, ironing etc.

We also have a large garage and a store room that often requires a tidy up and some organising.

If you have office administration or project management skills, can build and maintain WordPress websites, can do some graphic design and help ... more inside

This is a busy BnB on the Black Isle, a fertile peninsula just north of Inverness. Stunning views with beautiful sunsets, accommodation either in the farmhouse or a semi-converted signal box (rustic cabin)
Right now we’re looking for a capable couple with bags of energy to help us prepare for and help through the busy season. Tasks range from greeting guests, preparing rooms, taking bookings, feeding poultry and pigs, walking Ría the dog, grass cutting, gardening and helping out with general outdoor maintenance and longer term projects such as the nascent woodland garden, walling, landscaping, fencing, tree planting and so on.

Full board in exchange for 25 flexible hours per week, plenty time to take trips to the West, go to festivals, dolphin watch, climb hills or just laze around and enjoy the view. Own transport an advantage but not essential. There are infrequent bus services from Culbokie to Inverness (#22) and Dingwall. Far more buses stop at Duncanston, on the A9 about... more inside

We are looking for some help for a couple of weeks at the beginning of April. Two of our daughters are studying Spanish and so someone who is able to deliver some Spanish tutoring in preparation for exams in the summer is what we need. Any specific knowledge of maths and other subject would of course be a bonus! We are based in a gorgeous rural location at the foot of the Highlands in Scotland. As well as the help with studies for our daughters, we have various projects on the go, including lots of garden work. Whilst we are not a farm, we have plenty of chickens, dogs and are lucky enough to have red squirrels on the land.

Spring is our busiest time on the farm with calves and lambs arriving. We have space to welcome one or two new helpers, the weather is turning warmer, the trees are coming into leaf, the farm is bursting with new life. It's a great time to be here. If you think you'd like to experience life on a real Highland livestock farm, get in touch. We'd love to welcome you!

Robert and I are the third generation of our family living and working on our livestock farm situated in the beautiful Kyle of Sutherland, approximately 40 miles North of Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. Our family are grown up and away from home now and we enjoy having young (and not so young) helpers on the farm. This will be our fourth year as Helpx hosts but we have had many happy helpers coming to our farm over the past years. We breed Aberdeen Angus cattle and North Country Cheviot sheep. We also have horses and working border collie dogs. The farm is very beautiful, situated on the South bank of the Kyle of S... more inside

Looking for a female to help out with our trekking school during the summer months from august -September.

We are situated in the beautiful countryside of Highlands of Scotland beside the famous Eilean Donan Castle and 20 minute drive from the isle of sky . This is a rural area with limited public transport but a perfect paradise for walking, cycling and hill walking.

We have an estate with lots of horses and are looking for someone to help assist our new pony trekking girl with the horses which would include grooming the horses and other general work in the stables. As well as this there will be general duties around the farm such as making beds for the bed and breakfast, light housework and maintaining the grass.

I am looking for someone who is outgoing and confident and someone who feels comfortable being away from home and also confident around horses and ridding. There is also our friendly Labrador Trudi who will be on the farm.

I live in the house by myself as my c... more inside

We manage 100 acres of woodland, we are currently building our house onsite, we live off grid with a compost loo and no running water- so volunteers need to be happy with a basic lifestyle! We have 2 milking goats and a small flock of Shetland sheep. We are currently interested in having volunteers who have an interest or experience in building projects.
Accomdation is basic in a small caravan with a double bed. We have two small children and also live in a static caravan onsite.

This is a Georgian mansion house located in the Scottish Borders owned by John and Ellie Henderson and their two children Lily (7) and Thomas (3). For the past 7 years they have breathed new life into the estate by diversifying. This includes a Featherdown glamping site in the garden consisting of 4 colonial style tents each with proper beds, wood burning stoves, ensuite loo and hot tubs. Ellie is the Glamping site host and is looking for ideally a couple to help maintain the tents and help greet guests on changeover days (Monday and Fridays approx. 6hrs per day) and help her in the walled garden and general maintenance of the estate outside of this time. You would be staying in the house itself. It would suit an individual or a couple happy to clean and garden and plant in all weathers so looking for those with a genuine love of the outdoors, gardening, historic landscape and an adventurous, imaginative spirit and energy.
