We run a chambres and table d'hote in the Aude, an hour south of Carcassonne.

We are looking for one person, or possibly a couple to come and live with us and help during the summer. The main responsibilities are serving at breakfast and dinners and some possible cleaning duties. It would be beneficial if you know some French, although many of our guests speak English.

In return for four hours work a day we offer a lovely new room on the second floor of our house, with its own bathroom, plus full board. We have bicycles you can use.

We are a family of three, including a two-and-a-half-year-old little girl, living in a house in the very South of France, 5 minutes from a quaint historical little town in the Pyrenees.

The house has a large garden and a couple pastures and is set in a very quiet area (a hamlet surrounded by pasture land) in the foothills of the Pyrenees (40 minutes from ski resorts and 2 hours from the sea).

We are francophones and I am an English teacher at the local high school. I've visited 22 countries and lived in the UK and Canada. When I was a child, we used to host foreign students who wanted to learn French and I loved the experience.

We are very "Nature"-oriented, eat organic food, and have a vegetable garden as well as some fruit trees.

The garden is big and used to be an "abandoned" pasture, so it's fairly "rustic".

A lot of work has been put into it over the last few years (clearing, planting fruit trees and raspberry bushes, setting up a vegetable garden, etc...), as ... more inside

My associate and I manage a bar/restaurant on the nice campsite Domaine Duravel (4 stars) in the Lot valley in the southwest of France. The campsite is meanly visited by French, Belgian and Dutch people. The campsite has 280 places and has several swimming pools and other sports facilities. It is situated in the beautiful nature of the lotvalley, surrounded by vineyards and next to the river. The bar and restaurant are open every day but we expect from you only 5 hours of work 5days a week. This will leave you more then enough time to mingle with local people and tourists, visit the beautiful monuments and villages in the Lot valley (like Rocamadour, Saint Cirq Lapopie etc). All summer season several parties are organised in the surrounding villages.

We'll provide a bed in a house next to the bar, with bathroom (shared with others). You can use the internet freely. Breakfast, lunch ad dinner can be eaten freely with the rest of the staff. You can use the swimming pools.

Most important is that I am french and do not speak english; apart from french, I speak spanish, italian and german.

I am looking for someone for a shortish stay, even just a few days, to do some basic garden clearance and housework.

This is not a place with a big group of helpers, and I cannot be with you all the time, since I go out to work. I provide all food and wine, and you have your own room in the house. Also, I have 4 cats.

I live in a little hamlet about 10 minutes from Villefranche de Rouergue, but there is no public transport. I will take you on little outings occasionally.

Small house in village in Ariege with small garden. Would need help with gardening, some decorating and DIY. At the moment have a very neglected and overgrown garden in need of much attention and a small house requiring decorating and updating ready for letting out. If two people - would have to share twin room.
This is excellent walking country, climbing, kayaking and other outdoor activities. The village has a bar and a couple of restaurants should a helper wish for outside refreshments!
Wifi available
Nearest railway station Tarascon-sur-Ariege

We are Dom & Liz, and run a B&B/gite business from our renovated farmhouse, set in 7 hectares with panoramic views of the Pyrenees mountains.

We're closed for the spring to tackle landscaping and renovation projects - digging the vegetable garden, building woodsheds and indoors a yoga studio.

The work is quite varied and would suit people that like physical/outdoor tasks. Any practical skills are appreciated.

We look for around 25 hours of help per week, in exchange for accommodation and food.

Accommodation is normally in our adjoining gite, and you have access to wifi, sat tv & free calls to uk/us landlines.

We are 5 miles from the nearest town. We can lend you a bike, and help out with lifts now and again, but its essentially a rural location.

Residence in French Pyrenees, at the feet of one of the largest natural resorts of France.
I want to make of this place a retreat centre where people come for seminars and workshops about personal development and alternative healing.
Having the first residents arriving soon, I need an alround helper: painting, cutting trees and gardening but also cleaning rooms. If you like mountains, this is the place for you.
Bus to Perpignan railway station and airport.
I offer lodging, meals included and 50/50 working/time off. My mother language is Dutch but I speak fluent French and English.

Location .

We live in a village near Vire (Calvados ), in Basse Normandy . It is well placed for main motorways and about 1 1/4 hrs from the main ferry ports of Caen / Cherbourg / Le Harve and St Malo . Beautiful beaches and charming seaside town Granville are 45mins drive , Mont St Michel and the D-Day beaches and Bayeaux ( tapestry ) about an hour away . Vire has a good main line train service to Paris and airports at Rennes and Dinard are about 1 1/2 hrs away .

The House .

We are curently in the process of renovating a 'Maison de Maitre'and would guess we are some 70% through the work . We would welcome any assistance in finishing the house and in return for work would offer full board - all meals etc and continuous supply of wine and beer if required , although it might be a good idea for most of it to be drunk after work .

The work .

All sorts really , the usual stuff from general light labouring outside, decorating / painting and general DIY inside to so... more inside
