Nick and James (and Luna, the dog) bought a collection of ruined farm buildings on 3 hectares in 2011 and have been steadily restoring since. The location is fairly remote. There is a small village 1km away, there is a tennis court, fishing lake, numerous countryside walks and cycling routes. The nearest town is 6km away and has numerous shops, a weekly traditional French market, a beautiful Château, bars and restaurants. Despite the remoteness there is always something going on. Work has just started on restoring a barn.

Accommodation is within the recently restored main house. You will have a private room with a double bed, WiFi and a lounge with UK and French TV. Or there is a camping field, if you prefer! We will provide all meals including at least one meal out per week. In exchange for about 6 hours helping per day, 6 days per week, we invite you for a 2 week stay. Longer stays are possible after a successful first visit. We are very flexible about working hours... more inside

URGENT - Just been let down by a volunteer so space available NOW.
LONG TERM help would be ideal.

If you know how to use, sharpen and maintain chainsaws, that would be truly fabulous.

We moved to France in 2008 from Scotland with the aim of living more ecologically and are passionate about sustainability. We live on the edge of the Perche National Park in a small hamlet and have an old house with barn and outbuildings together with 7 hectares (17 acres) of land. Our nearest village is 2.5 km (1 mile) away and the nearest town, La Ferte Bernard is 5.5 miles to the south with good facilities. From La Ferte Bernard there are easy, direct rail and road links to Le Mans (30 miles) and Paris (105 miles).

Accommodation would be in the house with us and food is sharing our daily repas. We are omnivores but I can cater for vegetarians. Currently I feel unable to provide a balanced diet for vegans so sadly we can not accommodate those with a vegan lifestyle. Thanks to two very fu... more inside

We have smart gites and a horse breeding farm.We are looking for someone or a couple to help with the garden and general work around the property. Mowing, strimming and other maintenance work maybe! It is not necessary to actually help preparing the gites.
My husband (from New Zealand) and myself (from UK) need help in all kinds of areas! There is a self contained flat available for you to live in. Lunches would be 'en famille'. We are in a beautiful area of the Loire Valley and just 1 hour from Tours with a local bus - lots to do and see! You don't need to help more than 4 hours per day and hours are flexible. We have a horse breeding farm 1 km away so if you are interested in horses you might be able to help there too. We also have a couple of well behaved and kind large dogs. So you would need to like animals! Minimum time required 3 weeks. Longer stays possible. You should preferably be positive, self motivated and active!
We have been living in France for over ten years ... more inside

Hi We are a English family trying to live the good life on a large smallholding.
With sheep, pigs, dairy goats, and poultry. The property consists of 2.2 hectors. Two rental holiday cottages, a barn in need of restoration. A large polly tunnel and other outbuildings. As well as a large 400 year old house that we are now restoring we also have a gypsy caravan. An eco project our son and helpers built that we also use as a holiday let.
We live on the edge of a national park and have wonderful countryside, stunning sites and history all around us.
We have been hosts with other sites for over 10 years and have a face book page, that runs along side our work, for you to find out more once you have made contact.

Do please have a look and get in touch with a good email/profile from you with lots of information about yourself and any skills that you may have. We will be happy to hear from you......

** Currently looking for a helper who can start at the end of August.

I have a bed and breakfast located in Langeais, a town on the banks of the Loire, and am looking for help to run it as my partner works in England. The sort of help I need includes house-sitting and dog-sitting, serving a simple breakfast, some cleaning and laundry duties, and other general household chores and gardening. If you're interested in more practical jobs we would always appreciate those handy with a paintbrush, but above all the top priority is looking after the clients.

If you do not have a car, there is a good train service linking Langeais to Tours, Saumur, Angers and even as far as Nantes. There is so much to see and do in this very beautiful part of France, in particular if you're interested in visiting some of the many historic chateaus in the area.

I like everyone to feel instantly at ease and comfortable. There's always a beer, wine or an ice-cream on offer! We look forward to hearing ... more inside
