Gooood morning everyone :-) !!!

I am Sam and I bought recently a very old stone house on a piece of land in the lost french countryside (nature is amazing around here, you should pay a look ;-)). No big cities, no cars, no polution, only green grass, flowers, small trails, trees, farmers and animals... The house is several centuries old (probably the oldest of the village) with a stony old style wood bread hoven (to be restaured). The place has been inhabited since ... a very long time... and needs a bit of renovation (stone walls restauration, carpentry checking, electricity, plumbing,...) There is also a big field behind the house for growing all kind of plants (we will plant fruit trees this year, start the winter veggies, plant all kind of berries, aromatics, flowers, medicinal plants, etc...), so permaculture gardeners are very welcome !! We do everything organic and nature friendly.

Cooking skills are highly appreciated as well…

EVERYBODY IS WELCOME as long as she/h... more inside

Hello, we are a franco-swiss couple, we live in the North-West of the region called Limousin ( between Poitiers and Limoges) in a water mill which we are renovating for 7 years now.
We live in a rural area in the countryside at 6 km from the nearest town, the nearest train station is 22km away and the nearest airport is in Limoges ( about 64 km away). Paris is less than 3hours away. There are some lovely places to visit in the region, especially local villages and towns such as Limoges.

Our global aim: go towards more autonomy ( green energies, healthy eating, health by natural methods) and authenticity. We are installing a naturopathy practice, 2 guest houses, a SPA, production of environmentally friendly energy ( solar and hydraulic), an orchard with ancient and local varieties of fruits, 1 permaculture garden ( organic of course) and small animal parks. We are still in the process of working and building, however the naturopathy practice, the orchard and the first garden are ... more inside

We are a young team of 8 people farming with dairy cows, milking and making cheese and other dairy products. We have also chicken, 3 horses, some pigs, dogs and cats, and an organic vegetable garden for ourselves. We are selling our products on the market, and to small local shops.
We would like to host people from all over the world, and share about everything. We are not official organic farmers anymore, but are wise farmers, for whome its important to take care about animals and nature.
If you are motivated to learn, to help, to share, to enjoy the place, you are heartly welcome, even with your ideas, we are open for everything.
We are french, deutch and english speaking, offering you a nice place to stay, meals, and good moments together, each moment of the year!

When I first registered I wrote this: "I'm clearing and managing 1/2 acre of woodland that has been neglected for 30 years. I'd like to build a perimeter fence on 2 sides using some of the cut wood. I've never done it before so I'd love some help from someone who knows more than me! The work needs doing before the sap rises again." Since then I've made only a little progress as other things presented themselves as needing doing more urgently.

Right now what I'd love some help with is finishing re-pointing the stonework of my house and general garden work.

More info about me: I worked for 25 years in the UK as a homeopath. I currently make and sell herbal creams, growing my own ingredients where possible. It's just me and my dog here.

I can offer a variety of services in exchange. Accommodation of course, help with learning English (I have a Teaching English [TEFL] certificate, homeopathic treatment and natural health support and advice. The house is nothing fancy but own r... more inside

Welcoming helpers for Summer and Autumn 2017! We have open weeks remaining!

Our home is located in the quite isolated countryside of La Creuse, the greenest region of France.

We have a very cozy old farm-house that has been renovated and offers simple comfort for all seasons (wood stove heating, heated bathroom, hot water, etc). There are also two large barns in good shape. In our land, we have an expanding biodynamic vegetable garden, a marvellous greenhouse, a beautiful leisure garden, a young oak grove, a chicken coop with 4 hens and a coq, green pasture for our 5 sheep.

We practice organic cultivation and care of everything on the land. We bought the property a year ago and have much to do, so if you have the skills and motivation to do some work in good company and a relaxed atmosphere, you are welcome to come and stay for a while!

The work we need help with is varied, such as:

- building: improvements on the sheep shelter and sheep fencing, building a hut for... more inside

Summer is here now and I need help on my secluded and quiet horse farm in the beautiful Limoges area of central France. I have two horses. The horses live in freedom, yet still need handling and caring for. I have a natural horsemanship approach and know how to do a natural hoof trim, which I can teach you. There is also work to be done with the fences, clean out the barns, driving a tractor to clear meadows and feed the horses hay, work in the garden and other farm type work. If you are a mechanic you can help with the two antique tractors that I can't handle myself, let alone repair...
I have got MS and that's why I am limited in my energy!
I am looking for people that can help me in the following way:
- all the kinds of work mentioned above. You help me about 4 hours a day, I offer free meals and accomodation
Accommodation is in a mobile home with view on the horses's meadow. At least 2 people can stay. Laid back and friendly atmosphere, hours to suite. Meals taken in the h... more inside

We recently discovered HelpX & we thought what a great idea to help us make progress with our renovation of stone buildings which make up a hamlet here in the middle of France.
We have lived here for 14 years with our 2 sons ( 15 & 18) having met in Amsterdam. They are bilingual in French & English & one of us speaks good Dutch but has little practice.
Three of the buildings are finished (our home & 2 holiday rentals) & our intention is to convert more buildings into accomodation and possibly establishing "eco cabins" or teepees in the 5 hectares of woodland & pastures that surround the buildings. (This is where joining helpX comes in). To give you a better idea of what we are trying to achieve please look at our website.
We all enjoy meeting new people. We have travelled quite a bit & are happy to share our experiences & knowledge with others.
We're looking for help in developing & maintaining our stone buildings, extensive grounds & woodland. Helpers could stay in our holi... more inside

We are a retired English couple and moved to France ten years ago. We came with 1 dog, 5 cats a Welsh pony and a horse. Now we have 2 ponies 2 horses 9 cats and 6 dogs all of which have been rescued since moving to France.

We are no longer looking for helpers in 2017 as we are booked up for the rest of the year but are happy to discuss bookings for 2018.

We are interested particularly in helpers for 2018 who have knowledge and interest in training horses, ponies and dogs although this is not essential. While staying with us, helpers will learn or may already have these skills to long rein the ponies and take part in groundwork and carriage driving. Working with our lovely cob, Molly will also be part of this summer and autumn schedule, working in hand with her to advance her schooling as well as the general care of both horses and ponies.

We are also doing a lots of training with our two youngest dogs and now have an agility course which gives helpers the opportuni... more inside
