Currently looking for a couple to come and help with projects in and around the house.

We offer accommodation and food in return for 4 hours of help per person per day. Flexible as to times and you can also work longer one day and have a day off. It is important that you like having children around as we have a child who talks non-stop :).

We are an easy going family consisting of mum, dad and our young son. Nathalie is a teacher and Kerry is an accountant, both working mainly from home. Our son is homeschooled.

Katikati is a friendly small town in the Bay of Plenty, 15 minute drive from Waihi Beach, 30 min to Tauranga (bus or car). We are on the main bus route from Auckland to Tauranga. There is a bicycle for you to use to explore the area if you haven't got a car.

Our house is a mid-century 4 bedroom which we are renovating (slowly) with large gardens that need constant attention. There is a city bus stop nearby and we are 10 minutes drive from the Waipa mountain biking tracks and Whakawerawera thermal village. We are 5 mins drive from downtown Rotorua and the city hot pools. We also have WIFI. We have loved having Helpx. Those helpers who have come to stay with us have done a fabulous job and we have really enjoyed getting to know all of them. There is always gardening, housework and cooking meals. However right now,(mid June 2018) we need help with a second major renovation project inside and out which we need to get done by the end of June! We are non-smokers and mostly organic vegetarian. Trish is an artist and Martin enjoys drumming and mountain biking. Contact us by emailing so we can see your profile, and then text us, especially if you want a quick response as sometimes we dont check our email daily. We look forward to hearing from you.

We have 2 hectares with 28 Avocado trees in Aongatete, 7Kms from Katikati and 28km to Tauranga with limited transport, so a car is really recommended but we can negotiate pickup and drop off. We need some help with weeding, mulching, pruning etc. Basically gardening but handy skills or cleaning could be ok.
There is 1 king bed and 1 comfy queen fold out couch, separated from our part in the house, with their own bathroom and fridge, microwave, cooktop etc for you to feed yourselves. We don't provide food except for a welcome meal if you want to join us.
In exchange for the rooms we ask the equivalent of 2 hours of work a day.
Free unlimited wifi. Use of our laundry if needed.
I prefer to be contacted by email at first please and we like short term stays 1-2 weeks max. There are 2 cats and 2 small dogs that live here and 2 chickens plus mum haha:)
