Hi there, we offer space for a couple. We have recently moved to our new home so we need loads of help with the garden. We live on 2 acres overlooking the countryside and the Tararua hills. We are walking distance to the beautiful heritage village of Greytown (recently won the title of most beautiful village in NZ) with its cafes and shops. We are close to the Pinnacles and to Rivendell (both featured in LoTR). We are also a short drive from Mt Bruce with its Kiwi house and white Kiwi. We have two friendly dogs and a friendly cat. It's a 45 minute drive to Wellington CBD and a one hour train ride.

You would have our spare bedroom, with Queen Bed. The work is mainly gardening and cleaning with some building demolition to be done too.
We have WIFI for internet access which you are welcome to use within reason. Please know we will monitor internet use as we've had some helpers who have misused it.
One of us plays lots of music, the other is an appreciative audience. We've... more inside

Hi there! We are a friendly family of four with two cats. Louise works part time and Trent works in the city. Our kids are 5 and 7 and lots of fun. We enjoy travel and meeting new people, good food, craft beer (Trent is in to home brewing!) and hosting friends. Our kids are also friendly and love meeting new people.

At the moment we need some helpers who love hanging out with kids. We need some help with childcare and meal preparation as Louise will be away for work. We also would love help with odd jobs, painting, gardening, cooking, building etc. We like to be flexible so helpers can do what they are good at/enjoy doing, so let us know what you are in to!

We would prefer couples or friends who are over 25 or a single person who has love kids. We need people who are happy to fit in with out family life and share meals with us (most of the time). We eat around 5.30/6pm as we have young children. (While we try to be flexible we have had helpers who sleep until mid-day and st... more inside

In the funky, artistic, 'green focussed' community of Aro Valley - with great cafe's and a microbrewery - short walk downhill from our place to central Wellington. We live in a suburb in the city that feels like it's in the country.

Looking for a single (or a couple - only one smallish bed) to do 4(ish) hours work a day in exchange for food and board. Jobs: Cook the evening meal, keep the house clean and tidy, split and lug firewood, walk our super friendly dog and pick up the occasional childcare requirements - which may include picking our twins up from school and keeping them occupied during the afternoons, or evening babysitting. In addition, we are building a house up the hill and there are some labouring requirements (could include anything from ditch digging to carpentry and painting), so practically minded people essential please!

Warm room and comfy double bed. Fold-down writing desk with bureau and unlimited wifi in the room. Living area, Bathroom and Kitchen shared... more inside

We do not require help at present.

Work around here consists of general farm work, gardening, and a variety of jobs around the house.

We have a large beautiful home and rural property 25 minutes from downtown Wellington.
We speak french, a little spanish & Maori.
You will have your own double room & bathroom with beautiful views of the South Island across Cook Straight as well as the Tararua Mountain Range to the North. Remote location but only 10 minutes drive from Pauatahanui Village.
Our property includes 1.2 hectares of pristine native bush filled with native birds.
Our household is busy, fun & noisy, but our location is peaceful.
Our ideal helper is a hard worker who is friendly and sociable, but also happy to look after themselves.

HOUSESITTING HELPX MIX offered

Around mid to end of June I am looking for someone to stay for up to 24 days and work 2 h a day and provide your own food. You can sleep in the house or caravan. For this arrangement I would like to see a reference and ideally for you to come a few days earlier (on or before 20 June) so I can show you around.

I am German and have lived in New Zealand for almost 20 years. My two children live here half the week (4yr and 16yr), which tends to be the more social half of the week (other half I work a lot). We have a Kiwi dog, 6 kiwi chickens and 2 Kiwi guinea pig.

Only five minutes drive from Hutt city, or 20 min to Wellington by train.

We live amidst a very beautiful native bush setting with a small stream running through the property, lots of Fantail, Kererus, Tui and other native birds. Enjoy unlimited access to the bush via walking tracks which go right to the top of the hills above Wainuiomata via fire breaks, or take a quick 20-minut... more inside

Hello helpers out there,

We are a young Belgian family living on a lovely lifestyle block in rural Kaitoke. We have three children Lena (5.5yrs), Morris (3yrs) and Rosa (8.5 months). Our animal menagerie consists of sheep, chickens, two Belted Galloway steers and Muscat, our cat.

We are a 15 min. drive away from Upper Hutt and can do pick ups from the train station.

The Tararua Forest Park, the Rimutaka Rail Trail and Kaitoke Regional Park (Rivendell) are only a couple of minutes away from our house.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and proactive person (only 1!) to stay with us for about one week mainly to help with general household jobs like vacuuming, cleaning windows, babysitting, cooking, tidying etc. There might also be the odd job with the animals or in the garden.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!
Anna, Fred, Lena, Morris & Rosa

Kia ora,
We have a city house with a small garden. Usual tasks are helping with all the stuff we never get around to - stacking firewood, cleaning gutters, sorting and tidying etc. And then being generally helpful around the house - washing up etc. The jobs can usually be flexible with timing.
I need some firewood stacking and sorting and would be v excited if you are someone who doesn't mind small spaces (I need to go under the house to mend some insulation) (not as small as caving!) Sorry, we are full until August 2018

There is a double room with a queen bed and a lovely shared bathroom. If there are two of you, you will need to be prepared to share the bed.

Breakfast always and other meals if needed, hours of work max 4 per day and not too arduous. Maximum 4 day stay.

You're welcome to join in with our busy lives or chill out in your own space. You can walk into city centre and there's also good public transport. Local shops in Newtown are 6 mins walk away. There are g... more inside

Looking for Helpx'ers from July 2nd onwards - Come and stay with our family of 5 on our lifestyle block in the leafy suburb of Te Horo, on the Kapiti Coast. We have recently moved back to NZ after travelling extensively for 19 years abroad. There is some work to do around the property helping me cut hedges, general gardening and maintenance and is largely manual labour. Our house can be noisy thanks to our 5yo, 3yo and 8 month old (plus a cat and 4 chickens) but we like to laugh and we have a lot of fun. We have a French Au Pair that also lives with us. In exchange for 25 hours work a week you receive free accommodation (a large room that can either be setup as a King bed or two singles, with ensuite). Food for breakfast, lunch and dinner is provided for you to prepare and we have wi-fi available. We eat dinner quite early due to the young kids so generally we’ve found helpx’ers prefer to eat later which is absolutely fine. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions - many th... more inside
