Gardening in Waikawa, Picton and explore the Marlborough Sounds, New Zealand.

We are a couple with cat and dog who moved to Waikawa, Marlborough Sounds in 2015. We have a 36 foot launch and love to get away to explore the Marlborough Sounds.

The Marlborough Sounds in summer is warm and in winter is lovely, no wind and generally perfect days. Come and explore the Marlborough Sounds with free accommodation (your own room and separate bathroom) and food. We are a few minutes walk from Waikawa Bay and have a bike for your use. We can sometimes arrange sailing, racing and boating if you are interested.

We are planting natives in an area in Waikawa and need help doing this. The work involved is weeding, cutting back and planting natives. Our preferred length of stay is a week with 4 hours work per day, 5 days per week. House work may be an option if its raining hard.

While my husband is out on the water many days a week, I love to garden, cook and share recipes. I'm keen on ... more inside

Hi
We have a 400 hectare Sheep, Beef & Cropping farm in Marlborough. We have two young boys and need an extra pair of hands from time to time to help on the farm, round the garden or child minding.
We prefer one person or a couple as we only have one spare room in the house. Also you must be able to speak good English and be able to drive a manual (not automatic) vehicle.
We always need help with feeding pet lambs, lambing, tailing lambs (alot of lifting) cattle work, sheep shearing, firewood & fencing. We love it if you can bake and cook too :)

Hi there,
At home I live with my two busy boys aged 5 and 8 years.
I own and opperate a coffee and icecream cart on the Picton foreshore.

I ask for help with tasks such as fruit picking, preparation for businesses, house hold chores, gardening, dog walking, child minding and some work in the ice cream cart during the summer months.

The helpx expectations are the usual 4 hrs help a day over 6 days per week in exchange for food and accomodation or 2 hours for accomodation only. I am flexible with the length of stay but prefer 1 week minimum.

The accomodation on offer is a caravan alongside the house which is very comfortable. It is quite spacious and has a double bed or 2 small size single. The bathroom and kitchen facilities are in the main house.

Located in central Blenheim a short 10 min walk to town. 5min walk to the information centre, bus and train station

The Opawa river is located at the front of our section and the Taylor river and track across the road. ... more inside

We live on our boat near Havelock. I have three young children aged 8, 11, 14 whom I homeschool.
We hunt possums for fur. Our boat is small and basic so you will sleep in a tent and must be prepared to 'rough it' to a certain extent (shower consists of a bucket of warm water).
No experience with boats is necessary but you will need to have a 'can do' attitude.
Please bring some food to share. We have a two burner cooker on the boat but no oven.
We have fishing gear so you are welcome to try and catch dinner!
You must have your own sleeping bag and sleeping mat.
There is a good chance of seeing dolphins but it is not guaranteed.
Our activities depend on the weather.
We have a cat so not suitable for anyone with an allergy to cats.
We can pick you up in Te Mahia or Havelock.
