We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible. Our home is on a beautiful property located on a hill a short distance above the town of Yarra Junction, with views of the surrounding mountains. Our family is Angela and Andrew, two lovely boys aged 9 and 7 and delightful daughter aged 4 years. Our home is very sociable as Angela works at home and there are always other children visiting after school. We grow flowers, mainly roses, in the spring and summer and harvest, preserve and dry fruit from our orchard in the summer and autumn. In our home we prepare local organic whole foods for our family and to trade for local goods and services. We really enjoy tasty organic food and cook a wide variety of delicious dishes and snacks. We love anyone with DIY skills. Own transport is needed/ a bonus as we live out of town and are often away unless you are happy to ride a bike 10km's to town. We are fairly new to HelpX, and hoping to get some wonderful helpers to stay with us! We are a small family run organic farm, located in one of the most beautiful locations in Australia. Our Farm is situated about 20 mins drive from Apollo Bay, and not too far from Lavers Hill, Hordern Vale, Glenaire and Cape Otway. You can get to us by train, (from Melbourne to Colac), and we can pick you up in Colac, or you can get the bus past Lorne, and we will pick you up from Apollo Bay. Or if you have a car, you can drive to us very easily.

We are right on the edge of the Great Otways National Park, so we see Koalas and wallabies, echidnas and many unique birds every day. We are 10 minutes from beautiful beaches, waterfalls, world class hiking trails on the Great Ocean Walk, and we are surrounded by ancient, undisturbed forests. 5 minutes walk from our farm, though the forest is a natural swimming-hole, and a mossy, fern gully creek and waterfall. After a hard days work, you can swim there... more inside

I am feeling quite disappointed with the government rules on working visas as helpers don't seem willing to come visit my beautiful property. The weather has been absolutely fantastic this autumn.I have had 1 helper since Xmas. I am in need of 2 helpers with the grounds maintence. You will stay in the main house with your own bedroom and shower, meals will be prepeared together. I prefer to have at least 2 people at a time. Now is a great time for Australian emu's, kangaroo's and wallabies to be seen in the wild. This property was a commerical trout farm, it was burnt out in the 2003 bush fires. We purchaced the property in Febuary 2007 over run with blackberries and tree suckers. Property has double creek frontage. The pristine Nariel Creek is the main creek. We are in the process of cleaning up the blackberries, dead trees along the banks of the creek to gain access to fish for trout, swimming, canoeing, gold paning and spying the odd platypus. The property is surrounded by crown l... more inside

We are a small Bio Dynamic kiwifruit vineyard and apple orchard close to Melbourne in the Yarra Valley. We enjoy having guests and helpers the whole year but especially during the harvest in April / May and the winter pruning time. Other jobs may include collecting firewood, making compost and general farm tasks like feeding and looking after the chooks. The Yarra Valley is a beautiful place to explore and we are near the Healesville Sanctuary and wineries. We have two spare rooms and you will be part of the family in our warm and comfortable house.
Anne and Ian have both travelled and we both appreciate the exchange which comes from living and working together in a foreign country. Bring your experiences, recipes and musical instruments!

AT THE MOMENT WE ARE URGENTLY LOOKING FOR HELPERS FOR OUR HARVEST AT THE END OF APRIL AND EARLY MAY. PLEASE CONTACT US IF YOU ARE INTERESTED !
