Hi, Welcome to Tregoss Barton and Outlandish Holidays !

We live in a large Cornish stone house. (I converted it from a barn in 2001/3) Set in about an acre of gardens, on the Lizard peninsular, almost as far south west as you can travel on the UK mainland.
Overlooking the sea, "Falmouth Bay", and just a short walk to the beach. It's really very beautiful.
The area in which we live has been farmed for many hundreds of years.

The main word at tregoss barton : Community.
We live together, work together, and you may have to share a room. Itís more than a team, itís a family.
You will meet people from all over the world, discover traditions, learn work skills and practice community life.
When you leave Tregoss Barton, you leave with memories for life, friends by your side and sometimes, love in your heart !
ę My experience at Jonathan 's place was one of the best experiences of my life. I spent 5 weeks in that amazing place with amazing people, I made friends which I hope... more inside

Our farm has heated accommodation and warm hospitality for the right person who will need to be enthusiastic and dedicated when it comes to our precious livestock.

This is a lovely old fashioned farm set in the very heart of the beautiful Devon countryside. The location and landscape is unspoilt and offers easy access to the wilds of Dartmoor.

Ben and his wife Larry and Benís Mother Tessa along with our volunteers and students work together to maintain and develop the land, livestock and a sustainable way of life.

We enjoy life on our 400 year old traditional Devon Farm and manage over 100 acres consisting of culm grassland, hay meadow, ponds and woodlands (43 acres), all worked by our shire horses. Our Woodlands provide a wonderful opportunity for preserving the time-honoured skills associated with traditional woodland management such as coppicing, charcoal burning and horse logging.

Modern techniques and home comforts are embraced but where possible the farm is run pr... more inside

Accommodation and English language training if required in our lowly but characterful three hundred year old fen edge cottage. Its scruffy and often a bit dirty as I'm decluttering days. But summer is still here and its beautiful if you like animals and countryside and medieval cities and scruffy old cottages.

Its exactly halfway along the road from Cambridge to Newmarket. 7 miles from each centre. That takes about 15 mins in flowing traffic and considerably more in rush hour.

There is a bus into town(s) from the corner and there is also the park and ride service which is cheaper and quicker than the regular bus which is nearby so we can always run you to or from there in our car.

We are a couple in our mid sixties. I'm a semi-retired freelance English language teacher, teacher trainer and ex-author of resource books for teachers. I'm thinking of moving to Spain with the horses and Liam.

Liam was a contract manager in construction and is now retired. He is Irish and is ... more inside

This is my very first listing on helpx.net and it went live on Feb 10th 2017 . . . the Red Berry Field site is just reaching the stage where we can begin to invite helpers to visit - the facilities at the moment are fairly basic, but we will be steadily making improvements, and we look forward to learning how best to work with helpx visitors.

Please bear with us as we learn and improve :)

The 6 uploaded photos have been chosen to show the general nature and situation of the site and what's contained here.

We are a mainly off-grid rural site on the North side of Kit Hill (East Cornwall local landmark) with a traditional Cornish cottage, stone barn (yet to be converted into living accommodation) and 6-acre [2 hectare] field.

The site faces more or less due North towards Dartmoor [visible on the horizon beyond the off-white Yurt in one photo].
I live in that Yurt [16ft diameter] on the field. A young couple (Lea & Emma) occupy another Yurt, and have 3 young children betwe... more inside

We live on the outskirts of York, near the racecourse. We have a garden and grow fruit and vegetables on our allotment.

The work includes digging, weeding, fence building and painting. We'll also be tackling a neglected allotment, reorganising the layout and making new beds.

From early summer fruit and vegetables are ready to be harvested and prepared for freezing and conserving.
If the weather is bad then there are usually jobs to get on with in the house, garage and greenhouse.

We really enjoy meeting people from different countries and exchanging conversation about language, food and culture.

We can offer all meals, laundry and accommodation, (in a double bed/own bathroom), in return for a helping hand, usually around 4 hours a day, although we're very flexible when it comes to fitting in trips and visits.

Non smokers only.

We only have people for short stays, about 7-10 days.

We are situated 2km from the centre of the historic city of York.

We are based in a Grade II* Romantic Gothic mansion located just south of the English Lake District. It is situated in 70 acres of woodland and gardens on the shores of Morecambe Bay. It provides a quiet and reflective environment for a meaningful break.

The help required is varied and might include cooking, helping in the garden, household, doing office tasks, decorating etc. We also have various building projects at present that you could get involved in. We are always interested to hear about any specific skills you may be able to offer. Although the work is not always strenuous you will need to be reasonably fit and active to come on a volunteering visit.

In the Kadampa Art Studio there is scope to volunteer in the Finishing Team, assisting with sanding and filling etc. of Statues and Temple Adornments bound for destinations around the world. Short and longterm voluntary visits are available.

CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO HELP ON THE FARM FOR THE WINTER. Work includes; feeding and mucking out animals, painting and maintenance work, flower picking and general assistance with day to day running of the smallholding. Please look into the cost of travelling to the islands before applying to come as it is quite expensive and puts off a lot of potential helpers. www.islesofscilly-travel.co.uk
Also taking applications for next summer (March onwards) to help in the cafe...could suit a couple or 2 friends.
We are a small, family run, local food cafe/bistro on the island of St Martins in the Isles of Scilly, Cornwall. Most the food we sell is grown and produced on our smallholding and then freshly prepared in our kitchen. The cafe is open from April til October each summer (the main tourist season). But we sometimes take helpers on in the winter months to assist with farm and/or maintenance work, etc.

We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic people to help with all asp... more inside
