We are Elin (46) and Marcus (43), living with our kids Peder (4) and Anders (13) on a farm in the little village of Landåsbygda.

The family is completed by four horses, two dogs, two cats, eight sheep, three goats and a bunch of chicken.

We do small scale organic farming and produce most of our food ourselfs. The farm is located on the top of a hill, surrounded by deep forests and bogs. We have no direct neighbours and a nice view on the Landåsvatn-lake and the mountains all around.

We do grow a big vegetable garden and also catch some fish in the lake. We try to live as selfsufficient as possible.

Beside do we both have regular jobs, Elin works for the municipality and Marcus is a forestworker.

Elin speaks Norwegian and English, Marcus speaks German, English and Norwegian.

We need help mostly during spring and summer, round about from the end of May until beginning of September.

The usually arrangement we have with our helpers is 5 to 6 hours of work on fiv... more inside

Farm on a small island in the beautiful coastal landscape of North Norway. If you like to live isolated from people but be a small part of a mighty nature this is something for you. On the farm we grow potatoes and vegetables, we keep cattle and sheep that roam free on the island in the summer and about 17 horses. We provide hard physical work, often cold weather, midnight sun, northern lights, organic food, your own room, good company.

At the moment we are also looking for one or two persons that want to stay on the farm for a year or longer, as well as helpers for one month or longer in Summer.
We're in urgent need of helpers for June.

I offer two different types of stay in south-western Norway, neither of which is a farm.

The main events are WWOOF style weeks at Kvednaflaat, a woodland-cum-holiday centre, which is not permanently lived in. The planned sessions for 2018 are 29 May-7th June, 14-29th July, 17th August-2 September.
The area comprises 90 hectares of woodland, a lake, and lots of rock. The location is fairly remote, without through traffic: the nearest public transport is the bus stop in Helleland - an hours walk away and 15 minutes by car. There are no domestic animals other than bees. The work here involves both work in the wood and maintenance and improvements on the buildings. In the past I have organised the work into 5 working days per week ~5hrs per day. Accommodation is in simple rooms with one or two bunkbeds, shared bathrooms, dining room, lounge and kitchen - there usually is the option to have your own bedroom. These weeks tend to be very social and fun.

Although the main work is... more inside

My sleddogs are my lifestyle and my family :D
The location of this property is perfect for us, due to the majestic surroundings and the proximity not only to the main Norwegian airport, but also to other main towns around.

I just rented an off the grid farm and I need help with the daily chores.
i dream on having a garden (Im awful with plants or a permaculture project). But we are still getting there :)

I believe this is the perfect experience for someone who would be interested about:
-Spend some time off the grid
-A place to stay while travelling through Norway/ Scandinavia
-To learn new skills or to practice old skills
-International exchange
-Our lifestyle
-And of course and most important of all about HUSKIES!! : D
The kind of accomodation you will get is a room for yourself or shared if you are a couple/ couple of friends.

Some tasks might last few hours, some tasks might last weeks. Being with dogs/ learning about our lifestyle, does not mean to cuddle do... more inside

We live on an organic mountain farm in the Hardanger area, one and a half hour east from Bergen. In the summer, we grow vegetables and berries (strawberries, raspberries, red and black currants) and in the winter we work mostly with forestry as we sell birch firewood. We also have about 50 wild sheep which we feed in the winter with the hay we harvest in summer and 90 hens for egg production.
Summer work is mostly harvesting hay and all kind of work with the crops (planting, weeding, harvesting).
There is work all year long when it comes to mechanic or carpentry, so if you ave such skills you may be welcome anytime. However when it comes to work in the field we only welcome people from may/june to september.
We usually prefer to welcome 1 person at a time, but we can eventually welcome 2 at special occasions. We expect 5 hours of work a day for food and accommodation. Helpers get their own room and access to free internet. We share a cooked meal every evening, we provide food for... more inside

We are a 2 owners of Landa Park, Norway's oldest seddling from the bronze age to the immigration period. We have also a campsite on the ground. In the summer period we make historical activities for children and their families. We have goats, chicken and rabbits and are building some huts for overnight stay. There are a lot of different things to do. Maybe you like to cook for the group? Look at our FB link for pictures. The area at the Lysefjord is amazing. We have Pulpit Rock, and the Kjerag Rock is close by. You can also borrow the Kajakk or do a hike here. We would love your help this summer! Please contact us for more information.

Small farm 40 min. by car, south of Oslo.
On the farm we try to produce vegetables and meat for our one household, a small greenhouse is mostly used for chilli and tomatoes. Everything is done organic. In fact we are very in to good and healthy food.
We have a little sawmill where we produce materials for building maintenance and fences.
Goats needs to be fed and looked after, wood need to be chopped and a thousand other things waiting for a helping hand.

The 15th of june our 150 cashmire goats are transported to a noninhabited island in the Oslofjord. This is our summerfarm where we live and work all summer, we have a café for tourists and we handmilk thirty goats and make chevre from the milk. We bake bread in a woodfired oven (130 years old) in the morning, and everything is done without electricity. Those who sign up for this period will experience hard work and long hours. We treat everyone as a equal part of the team, and there is a lot to learn for those that are inte... more inside

WELCOME/ VELKOMMEN!

URGENT! We need someone to help us in June and beginning of July with our vegetable garden.

We are Bart 28, Ida 27 and Johan 2. We have a homestead next to the forest and a lake in west coast Norway to which we recently moved about 2 years ago.

-

Update: We are now looking for an eager individual who would be interested in self sustainability and growing vegetables (planting, sowing, general upkeep of the garden) or timber framing;this however must be quite a specific interest as it´s Bart´s job and it can be quite intense hard work.
-

You dont need any previous experience, but must be prepared for some demanding physical work. We try to make sure that you learn as much as possible and were happy to guide you through all the work you do, as long as your willing to get stuck in!
The work will involve using power tools such as table saws and chainsaws. But dont be scared, well be there to teach you how to use them safely.
Starting from Januar... more inside
