Looking for helpers in 2018. So please only apply if you wish to come here in 2018. We will have a short video chat on messenger and discuss when you can come and how long ok?
In the winter there is not so much to do so I only really need 1 helper. In the summer I can take up to 3 helpers.
All year long I need help feeding and taking care of my chickens (if you have experience butchering and preparing chickens for food this is a benefit also). I also need help walking my dogs, primarily my youngest dog who is a leonberger boy. He has a LOT of energy compared to my older dogs so he needs daily walking and if you are good at training dogs, you are welcome to work with him!!! Because of having 4 dogs (2 leonbergers, 1 Australian Shepherd and 1 Bichon Havanais) and 4 cats in my home, I also need help with light housekeeping. Sweeping every other day is necessary. If you are good at cooking we can share the kitchen but I am passionate about cooking, so I do not give up my kitchen free... more inside

Who we are:

We are Marcus (43 years) and Elin (46 years). We are living with our kids Peder (4 years) and Anders (13 years) on a small farm in a little village named Landåsbygda. Marcus is originally from Germany and came to Norway in 2010, actually as a helper on Elins farm. After running his own farm in a neighbouring village during six years did he finally move to Elins place when we became a couple.

Where and how we live:

Our farm is located remotly with no direct neighbours, on the top of a hill, with a nice view over the Landåsvatn-lake on one side and a view all the way to the Hallingdalsfjell and the Jotunheimen-mountains on the other side. Its surrounded by deep forests and bogs and as Elin calls it "a bit closer to heaven" ;)

Beside our two dogs and two cats do we keep horses, sheep, rabbits, pigs and chicken and grow a big vegetable garden. We also catch fish at the lake. One of our projects for 2018 will be to get cows and goats on the farm. We try to live ... more inside

I am now primarily looking for people who can stay long term (1-6 months), who have practical skills such as carpentry, renovation, building, construction, woodwork, electric, plumming, vehicle/machinery repair & maintenance etc. Also someone who can be in charge of cooking, household and scheduling. Volunteers will of course be able to choose from among many other tasks and learning experiences. :-)

My old house has a good potential for tourism - fishing, climbing and outdoor activities.
I just baught the house, and I need to find some good solutions. It is big > 350m2. Newly single, I am traveling in work so I am just home in periods, so volunteers would be "home alone" in periods. Indoor architect, or someone that is good in room planning and smart solutions, would be a good start.

From mid February I need a worker to help with cleaning/tidying the house, cooking and prepare rooms for guests.
I prefer if you have a bit experience in simple household like cleaning and tidying

Next summer I will need helpers for some painting and preparing a strawberry field and make "something" out of a steep hill. Some stairs and maybe some herb fields.

The house is at an old farm that's no longer in use as a farm. It's in a small village on 1 hour away from Tromsø by car on the south side of the lovely island Kvaløya. In the wintertime its possible to see the aurora from the bedroom windows. During summer here is bright as the day all 24 hours because of the midnight sun. There are also a ski track in the village. I love to take photos of the nature.
